Boxes of chocolate was something that Dazai didn't eat most of the time, but now, you could see him eating it in the office instead of working, it made a "certain someone" happy to see him eating it. "Kunikida, you should taste these! They're amazing" He grinned, annoying Kunikida as always, "I'm not in the mood for sweet things." He said, as he was tapping constantly on his keyboard. "Is there a case for you yet? All you've been doing is watching me work and eat chocolate." Dazai lied: "No, not yet" He chuckled.
"Naomi! Please wait!" Junichiro yelled, a muffling scream came from outside and then there was a silence. Nothing was heard from the siblings after that. Atsushi gave a nervous laugh, worried. "I-I'm going to check up on them..." He said.
"Kunikida-kun?" Dazai grinned
"...What?"
"Do you want to visit the Port Mafia?"
Kunikida didn't respond, it was an obvious no, why? Because, 1: He had work to do. 2: He would never go visit an enemy base so casually. 3: No. "Ugh, fine then." The brunette gobbled up the rest of the chocolate and went out of the office.
He bumped into Yosano while walking out, "Oh, Dazai?" She looked at him, concerned. "Hi, Yosano" He smiled. "It's rare to see you eating chocolate, especially so early in the morning."
"Someone gave it to me at my dorm."
"By the way, do you see Kyouka?"
"No, she went to go get ice-cream with Atsushi."
"Oh, ok."
"I'll see you later."
The two waved goodbye, Yosano had some shopping to do, she was going to do it with Kyouka but she could do it by herself for once in a while. That would be fine. Dazai took a walk outside, wondering who gave him the sweet chocolates.
"Kyouka, which one do you want?"
"The vanilla bean one." She pointed out, "Alright" He paid 7$ for a vanilla bean crepe, "Here you go," He smiled. "Aren't you going to get one too?" He scratched his hair, "I'm not in the mood for it right now." Kyouka looked at him, silent. "Ok." She answered, the two spent two hours with each other, exploring some fun places in Yokohama, there were 3 new buildings, only for a limited time. They went to one of them and it was quite fun. "Kyouka, do you want to tell the rest about this place later?" Atsushi asked, he planned to go with the agency when they had a holiday.
“Later?” She made a hint of correcting him, “Ah, I mean when we’re on holiday.” She nodded, then got distracted by a shooting game: Shoot 5 ducks that spin really fast, and your prize is a big rabbit plushie. It wasn’t the prize that was interesting but it was the game itself, so she played it, she ended up satsifed with how the game played, since it was hard, it made it interesting. She still got the rabbit plushie though.
They came back 30 minutes later. Kyouka was satisfied with how the day had gone by, Atsushi went to his dorm, he was planning to do something nice for a certain person again.
Humming his favorite song, he was almost done with the gift prepared, then he would put it at someone’s door. But this time, it wasn’t the same person. He chuckled at the thought of them eating it and thinking it was delicious, yet he wished he could tell the certain person who was giving it to him but he can’t for some reason. When finished, he came with the perfect results and decided to taste one from his. He was delighted with it and everything went perfectly planned.
The next morning, just when Yosano walked out her door, she was about to step on a box but fortunately, she didn’t. She crouched down to reach it and opened the box to find some yummy chocolate, it was in the morning but who cares? If it’s good then she’ll eat it, so she did, walking with it towards the agency at 9AM in the morning, “Hm, maybe I should save some of these for later...?” She thought to herself, replying back to her question, she decided that she would save the rest of the chocolate for later, not because it wasn’t good though.
“You got a box of chcolate? No fair!” Ranpo pouted, “I want some chocolate as well.” Atsushi heard his request and of course he would definitely want to make some chocolate for Ranpo. Someone touched Atsushi’s shoulder, “Morning, Atsushi-kun? Whatcha doing?” He grinned, bored early in the morning. “Not much...Just finishing the monthly report for last month.” The two stood silent for a couple of minutes, listening to the other group’s conversation. “Whoever’s giving the chocolate must be really nice.” Atsushi nodded in agreement.
“By the way, Kunikida isn’t here yet. He would usually be here at 8 or 7.” Dazai was right, Kunikida was late. “I wonder where he is.” Atsushi said. Kunikida appeared then, he had strands of hair poking out, he didn’t have his glasses, and he was panting. “Dazai!” He yelled angrily, Dazai must have done something bad and Atsushi had a feeling he was going to be included into it.
4:32PM
Atsushi stretched his hands, finally finished work. He got out of his chair and met Tanizaki on his way, “Heyo, Atsushi.” He waved and gave him a slight smile. Atsushi replied back, “Hey, Tanizaki-san” He gave him a smile back. “You finishing work early?” Tanizaki asked, Atsushi nodded, “Oh, ok then. Cya later.” He waved goodbye, that was a bit awkward, especially a short conversation as well but Atsushi didn’t really mind it.
Humming his way into his dorm, Atsushi met Dazai. Who was actually looking for him, “Ah, Atsushi” He walked toward him. “Hello Dazai” Atsushi gave him a nervous laugh. “I have a question for you” Dazai grinned, thinking that his prediction would be right. “Wh-What is it?” The boy stuttered, starting to feel kind of uncomfortable.
“Have you been the one giving out the chocolate?”
Atsushi’s eyes widened. He shook his head, though it was obvious that he did make the chocolate, “You sure?” The brunnete crossed his arms, “I don’t know how to make chocolate, Dazai.” He said. “Ok” Dazai left just like that.
Atsushi sighed, and walked to his dorm. He changed into a sweater and short pants, he made some chocolate for Ranpo, and decided to leave it at Ranpo’s desk
He left the it there, hoping Ranpo would be happy to have chocolate, or candy now, or at least when he saw it. He stretched his arms and went into the café to have some breakfast, he met the others there as well. Ranpo ended up liking what he got. “Chocolate!” He grinned and starting eating the chocolate, early in the morning.
For several days, Dazai would ask Atsushi if he was the one giving chocolate and Atsushi would always say “No”. Unfortunately, Dazai did find out that Atsushi was the one giving out the chocolate, “I-I’m sorry, Dazai-san.” The brunette grinned, “No, no. It’s fine”
“Honestly, I didn’t like the chocolate.”
“Eh?! Why did you keep eating it then?!” Atsushi frowned.
“Because I loved it.”
Atsushi glared at him, then sighed in relief. “But, is it ok....if I can get some more?”
“Sure, you can!” Atsushi grinned, “Also...do you know anything that Kunikida likes?”
Dazai put his palm on his chin. “A day without work?” He said. Atsushi slightly smiled but Dazai didn’t see it. He stretched his arms.
"Thank you." Atsushi whispered
"For?"
"Nothing, nothing."
"Mhm"
