There was a ripped piece of notebook paper attached to the cat's collar, taped right next to a red rose with the thorns trimmed. It was flimsy and half-folded, but Vincent reached out to hold it between his fingers. “Will you be my valentine?” He read aloud, brow raising as he did so.
Following his words was a pause long enough to make Victor shuffle and hold out Sasha a little closer. “So?”
“Only if you take this ridiculous outfit off of her.” Vincent scolded, moving his hand to brush through Sasha’s fur before taking her from Victor’s hands. He didn’t really even process the question, too busy staring at Sasha’s grumpy expression and swishing tail. “How cruel of you.”
