Touch

Summary:

To put it simply, Kaminari wanted to fuck a ghost. As an incubus, he fed off sex to live. There wasn’t anything to gain by sleeping with a ghost, as they had no energy to give and couldn’t be fed off of, but he simply wanted to say that he had done it.

When he finds a cute ghost, he tries to turn the charm on only for it to go right over the ghost's head. Poor guy was just so excited to finally talk to someone again.

Work Text:

To put it simply, Kaminari wanted to fuck a ghost. As an incubus, he fed off sex to live. There wasn’t anything to gain by sleeping with a ghost, as they had no energy to give and couldn’t be fed off of, but it was simply to say that he had done it.

Over the many years Kaminari had been alive, he had messed around with all sorts of creatures, both human and supernatural alike. There was always something new and exciting to learn or experience. Ghosts were just the next thing on his ever growing list.

It turned out it was surprisingly hard to find one. In a day and age of technology, humans were quickly learning how to get rid of their pesky ghost neighbours, and old houses were often torn down to prevent a hazard. Some ghosts were borderline crazy, others faint and spacey from their years in limbo, and quite frankly others just weren’t Kaminari’s type.

When Kaminari heard about a haunted apartment that the owner’s couldn’t rent out and were too afraid to renovate, he got his hopes up. Supposedly, this ghost was on the younger side— a college student from nearly two decades ago.

But he didn’t expect the ghost to be the incarnate of an excitable puppy.

“So, you can see me? You’re real?” The cute freckled boy kept circling him as if it was the first time seeing someone who could… well, see him .

“Kaminari Denki, an incubi. Glad to be of service.” He introduced himself with a wink and a kiss to the back of ghostboy’s hand.

The ghost blinked in surprise, face flushing red.

“O-oh! Nice to meet you.” That smile and those rosy cheeks were enough to make Kaminari weak. “My name is Midoriya Izuku!”

He drew his hand back and held it to his chest. It had probably been a long time since he’d been touched too. The last time when he was still alive, most likely.

“I’ve never met an incubi before,” Midoriya said, blush fading from his cheeks and eyes lit up in fascination. “I’ve actually never really met anyone before as a ghost.” His face fell, looking a little sad. “I tend to scare away people when they come by… but guess I’d be scared of me, too, if I were them.”

Kaminari didn’t like that sad look on his face, very much appreciating his earlier smile. “Well, I’m sure you could really use some company then.”

The purr in his voice seemed to go right over Midoriya’s head, but he perked back up immediately.

“I’d appreciate it!” Midoriya rocked on his feet, looking over Kaminari’s appearance with much curiosity. “I didn’t even know incubi were real, but I guess that shouldn’t be a surprise since I’m still here.” He looked back to meet the incubi's eyes. “Do you mind if I ask a few questions?”

Kaminari shook his head. “Not at all.”

Questions were good, it’d get conversation rolling and he could make his intentions more obvious. It also felt a little cruel to not give the ghost at least some innocent company before trying to fuck him.

Once Midoriya started rattling off questions, it was hard to stick to one topic and worm his way into flirting. Being a literal sex demon should’ve made it easier.

It didn’t.

They eventually moved to sit down on the couch in the living room. It was dusty, like it hadn’t been touched in years. Which was probably true. Kaminari knew he’d be wiping dust off his ass later and couldn’t relax much onto the couch.

“Can you feed from humans only, or does it work on other supernatural creatures?” Midoriya asked, still with that wide-eyed look of fascination on his face.

Kaminari spotted his chance.

“I get the most energy from humans, but other supernatural beings can give me varying amounts of energy from sex.” He leaned forward a little, a small smile on his face. “A ghost like you, however, wouldn’t. It’d be fun to experience it, though.”

Again, Izuku didn’t even bat an eye. “What does it feel like when you’re feeding off someone?”

“Well, I’m having sex, so.” Kaminari waggled his eyebrows and grinned as Midoriya’s face went red. “Feels great.”

Midoriya waved his hands. “That’s not what I meant!” He took in a quick breath to calm himself down. “Like, does it feel like you’re eating, with your stomach feeling fuller?”

Kaminari could’ve twisted his reply into something dirty, but felt like it might be pushing it too far for Midoriya. He seemed like the nervous type, so he answered his question truthfully, instead. “You know how when you first wake up, you feel kinda heavy but the more you wake up—taking a shower, eating breakfast—you feel more energized? That’s what it’s like.”

Nodding, Midoriya finally had to pause for a moment before thinking of another question. “So, um,” he fiddled with his hands, cheeks going pink again, “can you ever get tired out from sex?”

It was unbelievable that Midoriya could ask that question so innocently, like he genuinely wanted to know the answer for knowledge’s sake and nothing more. Somehow, it only made Kaminari more thirsty for the ghost.

“You don’t have to answer that!” Midoriya now seemed very embarrassed. “God, that was probably such a weird question, I’m sorry, forget about it—”

Kaminari just laughed it off. “My life quite literally revolves around sex. You’d have to be trying to make me uncomfortable to get to me.” He smiled at Midoriya reassuringly. “I can get tired from sex if I’m using more energy than I’m taking.”

Suddenly curious, Kaminari decided to ask a question in return. “Have you had sex before?”

Looking down at his hands, Midoriya shook his head. “No. Kinda sad to die a virgin, huh?” He laughed, but it was tinged with sadness.

“But enough about me,” he shook his head again and looked back up at Kaminari, “I still want to know more about you.”

“Are you leaving already?”

Kaminari could feel sadness radiating from Midoriya. If he were a werewolf instead of a ghost, Kaminari swore his ears and tail would be drooping right now.

“Sorry, sorry!” He clasped his hands together in an apologetic gesture. “I’ll come by again soon, so don’t make that face!”

He was unsuccessful at seducing Midoriya tonight. He was so excited to have someone who could see and hear him after who knows how many years of living as a ghost, he spent the whole evening chirping Kaminari’s ears off.

But it’s fine, Kaminari wasn’t one to give up so easily. Besides, Midoriya should have gotten all of the excitement out of his system now. Tomorrow, he’d successfully carry out his plan of seducing a ghost and finally cross it off his bucket list.

And besides, Midoriya was kind of cute. Good looking and not a poltergeist either! It’d be a shame not to bang that at least once, in his honest opinion.

As expected, Midoriya’s face immediately lit up at his words.

“I’ll be waiting!”

“So that’s your mom?” The picture frame in Kaminari’s hand showed a photo of a younger Midoriya hugging a short and chubby middle-aged woman. They were both staring at the camera with big, round eyes and wide smiles. It was obvious to Kaminari where Midoriya got his looks and charm from.

“Inko. That’s her name.” Midoriya told him with a wistful smile, leaning closer to get a better look at the photo. “She moved out after I died. I haven’t seen her since.” A pause. “I hope she’s doing okay…”

“You didn’t go with her?”

“I can’t leave this house.” Midoriya replied, shaking his head.

There was a sinking feeling in Kaminari’s stomach when he asked, “Did you… die here?”

From what little he knew about ghosts, the ones with regret, the restless and angry spirits, remain tied to their location of death.

Did that mean Midoriya still couldn’t accept his death?

Midoriya’s form flickered for a moment as his expression darkened.

“Yes… I was killed here,” he quietly admitted. Everything started to make sense. The reason why he’d been alone for so long, the reason this house was abandoned and avoided, even by the landlord.

“Oh.” Kaminari wasn’t sure what to say. He’d always been a demon, he couldn’t empathize with Midoriya’s case… but his chest felt tighter.

Kaminari looked back at the picture, trying to take in as many details as possible.

“Why were you…,” his voice trailed off, unsure if he was pushing too far. Midoriya said he got killed, so this was no accidental death or sickness, but likely something tragic. It was probably painful to talk about.

Midoriya didn’t meet his eyes, still staring wistfully at his mother’s face. “It was a break in. I wasn’t home, and I guess the thief thought that no one else was home too. I came back to my mother on the ground and him threatening her.”

Suddenly, the air got a lot colder. For the first time since Kaminari had met Midoriya, there was a furious look on his face and tears budding at the corners of his eyes. It felt wrong to not see a smile on his face.

“I charged in to save her.” He shook his head, face pinching as the tears spilled. “God, I was so stupid!”

The pictures on the shelf started rattling.

“Didn’t have a plan, a weapon, and I didn’t call the police before I ran in.” With a sob, Midoriya sunk to the floor. “I just got myself stabbed and was dead before the paramedics could even show up.”

Everything went very still and Kaminari let out a shaky breath, now visible in the freezing air.

Looking up at Kaminari with watery eyes, Midoriya no longer looked angry… just distraught.

“All I did was hurt my mom. She couldn’t even come back to get her stuff,” his voice cracked and he broke eye contact, staring down at his hands. “I tried to keep the building’s staff out, so I wouldn’t lose everything, so my mom would have a reason to come back.” He let a shaky laugh. “Guess all I did was ensure that I’d spend all my time alone.”

Kaminari felt his own eyes burn a little. Crouching down next to Midoriya, he placed a hand on the ghost’s freezing shoulder.

“You’re not alone right now,” Kaminari said softly, feeling guilty that he had asked and upset Midoriya. Maybe it felt better to get this all out, though.

Wiping at his eyes, Midoriya offered a weak smile in return, body still trembling.

Whether or not they were really on a hugging level of friendship, Kaminari knew Midoriya needed one. He reached out to pull Midoriya in, and the ghost buried himself in Kaminari’s arms.

“I won’t let you be all alone anymore, I promise.” Kaminari squeezed his arms around Midoriya.

While his goal of banging a ghost was still intact, he knew it could no longer be a hit it and leave it deal. Besides, he did genuinely enjoy talking to Midoriya. Keeping him company would be no problem.

And the smile Midoriya gave him, bright, and beaming; his eyes twinkling with happiness and a fresh round of tears — Kaminari knew he made the right decision.

Midoriya moved his hands a lot. Whether gesturing while he talked, or drumming against a surface when he was deep in thought, writing on thin air whenever he learned something interesting, or picking at and pulling at a loose thread on his shirt sleeve when he was upset — Midoriya’s hands were always moving.

Midoriya talked a mile a minute. Sometimes with Kaminari, and sometimes he mumbled to himself under his breath.

One of Mirdoriya’s cheeks dimpled when he smiled. He stuttered when he was nervous. He was terrible at lying.

These were all little quirks and habits that Kaminari noticed the more time he spent with Midoriya. Little quirks and habits that have slowly turned from amusing to endearing. And before he knew it, Kaminari’s heart started doing a funny little thing in his chest every time he visited Midoriya and was welcomed in with a dazzling smile.

Today was no different. He checked his pocket to make sure that his phone was still there — of course it was, Kaminari would never forget or leave it behind — before knocking on the door.

He fixed his posture into something that (hopefully) looked relaxed and cool, and not like he wanted to tackle Midoriya as soon as the door opened. It had been far too long since his last visit and he could barely contain his excitement.

He took a moment to brush his fingers through his hair, fixing it, before the door opened.

Midoriya looked ecstatic. Kaminari couldn’t tell if all the excitement was directed at him, or if it was what this visit meant.

“Has the reboot come out?” Midoriya asked, eyes practically sparkling. “The animation looked so good in the trailers, even better from when I was a kid! Of course, I don’t think anything could beat my nostalgia for the old All Might cartoon, and the reboot might be disappointing, but exciting nonetheless. I hope it’s not a step-by-step remake, but improves upon the last. God, the series had so much potential that they never got to tap into, and the reboot has the chance—”

Kaminari snickered, snapping his fingers in front of Midoriya’s face to break him out of his little ramble session. “Do you want to stand there mumbling about what the show could be like, or do you actually wanna watch it?”

The mumbling stopped instantly and Midoriya shook his head. “Sorry! Let’s watch it.”

Grabbing Kaminari’s arm, Midoriya pulled the blond inside and over to the couch.

Since the first time Kaminari came over, the living room space had been cleaned up a bit. It was mostly so the incubus wouldn’t leave with a stuffy nose due to all the dust. It also made the space feel more cozy, like this wasn’t literally a haunted house.

As Kaminari sat down and got out his phone, Midoriya was practically bouncing in the seat next to him.

“I think you like All Might more than me,” Kaminari teased. “Didn’t even say hi.”

Kaminari quickly regretted saying that as Midoriya looked panicked and anxious.

“Oh! I’m sorry,” Midoriya apologized. “I really, really appreciate you coming over to see me, I—”

Quickly waving off any further apology, Kaminari swore it was fine, “I was just teasing, I promise! It was cute seeing you so excited.”

A little color rose to the ghost’s cheeks at that (Kaminari had long since stopped trying to understand the physics of a ghost blushing), and he smiled sheepishly. “Seriously though… being able to spend time with you is way more important than anything you’ve brought me.” His voice had softened, not meeting Kaminari’s eyes. “I’m excited for the show, of course, but I’m happy that I get to watch it with you.”

Midoriya met Kaminari’s eyes with a sweet smile that had the incubus blushing and heart melting. He could handle sex, no problem, but this ghost’s genuinely sweet personality was going to be the end of Kaminari. It wasn’t like him to be the one to get flustered.

“You sure know how to make an undead feel special,” Kaminari half-joked, willing the blush to go down. The sound of Midoriya giggles made him feel triumphant in a way. “I enjoy our little escapades too, ya know.”

And the way Midoriya’s smile and eyes became softer made his breath catch and he had to look away or else he’d — he’d what? He wasn’t sure, but he wasn’t quite ready to find out just yet.

He focused on his phone instead of the ghost beside him that made him feel jittery and weightless, and unlocked the screen, navigating through the apps until he found what he was looking for. He holds the screen between them and starts up the video, Midoriya inching closer to him as the first episode starts.

Somewhere in the middle of watching the show, the two had gotten closer and closer to each other until they were snuggling. Midoriya was curled up against him and Kaminari had his head resting against Midoriya’s.

Every now and then, Midoriya would gasp and start energetically mumbling under his breath whenever something exciting would happen. When the episode would end, he would talk about the new scenes and all the subtle differences he had noticed and critique them on it. While Kaminari didn’t quite understand everything he was talking about, he listened intently with a smile on his face.

Kaminari himself wasn’t watching the show, if he were to be honest. He was too distracted by the feeling of Midoriya’s body next to him, and observing all the way his expressions shifted from emotion to emotion during their little watch party.

Midoriya’s eyes would light up every time All Might made an appearance. His brows would furrow with worry whenever it seemed like All Might would lose (not that he ever did, and Midoriya knew that since he watched the original). He would cheer and pump a fist in the air every time All Might defeated the villain of the week.

Kaminari was utterly fascinated and endeared by Midoriya, too enamoured with him to pay attention to the show.

“U-um, Kaminari?” Midoriya started to say, voice barely above a murmur. Almost immediately after, he mumbled out, “Wait, nevermind.”

Lifting his head, Kaminari looked down at Midoriya, noting the blush rising to the ghost’s ears. “What?”

Midoriya shook his head. “It was a weird thing to say.”

“We’ve been watching buff men in tights fight each other for over an hour now, I’m sure whatever it was wasn’t that weird.”

Midoriya cracked a smile. “It’s just… I like how warm I feel when you’re around. I can’t feel the sun when it shines through the window. It’s always so cold.” He looked up at Kaminari with rosy cheeks. “I can always feel your warmth, though. I missed feeling like this.” Ducking his head again, he mumbled, “Being around you makes me feel warm, inside out.”

All this time Kaminari had been trying very hard to ignore his budding feelings for Midoriya, and he came out saying cute shit like that? Unbelievable. God, he was fucked. And not even in the way he originally wanted to be.

Slipping an arm around Midoriya, Kaminari held the ghost a little closer.

“You make me feel warm too,” he murmured, knowing this was as close to a confession as his racing heart could get to at this point in time. It was all so cheesy and sweet, and so out of Kaminari’s area of expertise.

With a nervous laugh, Midoriya covered his face with his hand. “I have never felt so sappy.”

“Wanna finish the show?” Kaminari suddenly asked, desperate to break the awkward air.

“Yes please.”

Kaminari kept his arm around Midoriya for the remainder of their evening together.
