mamma midoriya!

Summary:

Midoriya was thriving. He had just been named No.3 hero, he got to spend a week on I-Island, and he was about to get married. Nothing could ruin his week.

That was until he found out Todoroki invited his three potential fathers to his wedding, which includes, but is not limited to, All Might, All for One, and some deadbeat named Hisashi.

Wonderful.

Chapter Text

The sun had long since dipped past the horizon, leaving the sky a dark blue, glittering with stars. Musutafa was aglow with bright city lights and the moon hanging precariously overhead. The normally bustling city was dead, for most of its residents had retreated to their homes for the night, fast asleep in their beds.

Shouto Todoroki, unlike the rest of the city, was wide awake. He sat with crossed legs on his futon, hunching over his laptop. He was in the middle of writing an email addressed to three different people. He read over the emails multiple times, trying to find any mistakes or misspellings. Once satisfied, he took a deep breath.

"Here goes nothing," Shouto said to himself. Before he could change his mind, he hit the send button. "Hisashi Mikumo, Yagi Toshinori, AFO," Todoroki read off each name that the email was addressed to. "Don't let me down. Don't let Midoriya down."

One month later

Izuku could not be more excited. It was only Tuesday, but he already knew this was going to be the best week of his life. On Sunday, he had been announced as the Hero Billboards Number 3 Hero, a huge accomplishment for a twenty-year-old. The only heroes who have been able to pull off something like that were Hawks, the current Number Two, and Lemillion, who was the current Number One at only twenty-three years old. So needless to say, Izuku was over the moon.

But that's not where the excitement ended, not at all. He was also going to be spending the remainder of his week on the best place on Earth, at least in his opinion, I-Island. It had gotten even bigger since the last time he visited and there were so many new exhibits and inventions on display this year.

But Izuku wasn't only at I-Island to look at the new exhibits. The main reason he was there this week was that he was getting married to none other than his high school sweetheart, Ochako Uraraka. He was the happiest man on earth. Like how did he get so lucky? In his humble opinion, life couldn't get any better. And nothing could ruin this perfect week for him.

His family, friends, and classmates from UA were all traveling to I-Island for the wedding this week and would be staying at his mother's hotel on the island, Villa Inko. Izuku would arrive early with Ochako to get things set up before everyone else arrived. His groomsmen, Shouto and Tenya, would also get there early to help out. The rest of the guests would be arriving the night before the wedding for the rehearsal dinner and bachelor/bachelorette parties.

This week is going to be perfect, Izuku thought to himself, a faint smile spreading across his face.

"Izuku! Come out here!" Izuku turned away from his Hero Analysis notebook, looking over to the door, which his mother was banging on. "Shouto and Tenya are in the lobby! Go get them!"

Upon hearing his friends' names, Izuku leaped out of his seat and ran out of his hotel room, heading for the elevator. Shouto and Tenya were staying in the same room as him, while Ochako was staying in a room with Kyouka and Momo. Apparently, there was superstition surrounding the bride and groom sleeping in the same room the night before the wedding, so Izuku and Ochako decided to stay in a hotel room with their groomsmen and bridesmaids. Izuku didn't understand why they couldn't sleep in the same room, but Ochako took wedding traditions and superstitions very seriously, so he didn't question it.

After what felt like forever, the elevator door opened up, revealing Shouto and Tenya in the hotel lobby. Tenya was animatedly talking to the receptionist, waving his hand around in the air, per usual. Shouto, on the other hand, had taken to laying across one of the hotel's couches, leaning his head back. He seemed beyond exhausted, probably from spending so much time with Tenya. Izuku knew from experience that being around Tenya could be exhausting.

"Hey, guys!" Izuku called out before even setting foot out of the elevator. Tenya turned away from the receptionist and Shouto looked up from his spot on the couch, both grinning when they saw him. They left their spot and ran towards Izuku.

Upon reaching each other, Izuku pulled them into a big group hug. "Hello Mr. Number Three Hero," Todoroki greeted, face squishing against Izuku's shoulder.

"Yes, hello! We are both honored that you invited us to your wedding! We are looking forward to it!" Tenya said with his usual politeness.

Izuku chuckled, letting them out of the hug. "It's so good to see you guys again! Thanks for coming!" Shouto opened his mouth like he was about to speak, but stopped himself. "What's wrong?" Izuku asked him.

Shouto was quiet for a while, longer than Izuku would have liked. He knew Shouto was a horrible liar, and Shouto knew it too. So more often than not, he would just not answer the question rather than lie. Which made Izuku nervous. After what felt like forever, Shouto finally spoke.

"You have to promise not to kill me." Shouto started.

"Whatever it is can't be that bad. Come on, let's go up to our room and you can tell me about it there." And so the three made their way to the hotel room, hauling their luggage up the elevator and down the hallway. Once everything was put in their room, they all situated themselves on the couch, Izuku and Tenya waiting for Shouto to start explaining.

Shouto took a deep breath. "So remember last month when we were cleaning out your mom's attic?" Izuku nodded his head slowly. The Midoriya's attic was a mess; there was so much crap up there you couldn't even see the floor. So Izuku offered to clean it on one of his days off and roped Shouto into helping him out. It took them the whole day to finish.

"Well, I found this box up there. It had a bunch of old photo albums in it. You were a cute baby." Izuku laughed, hitting Shouto's arm lightly. "Anyway, there was a notebook in there. I thought it was one of your analysis notebooks, so I started reading it."

Before Izuku could ask about what Shouto had read, Tenya was interrupting. "That is extremely rude and an invasion of privacy!"

"It's fine Tenya, really! I don't care if Shouto read my analysis notebook." Izuku said, waving his hands in front of him. "It's okay."

"Uh, it wasn't one of your analysis notebooks, actually," Shouto confessed, and Izuku could feel himself start to panic again. What could he have read? He kept a journal when he was in middle school, but that wasn't in the attic, was it? Was it a notebook from school? Or maybe it was-

"Izuku? You're doing the thing," Shouto pointed out, and Izuku realized he had been mumbling.

"Ha, sorry about that. So what did you find?" he asked, trying to keep his voice from wavering, and failing.

Shouto sheepishly smiled, rubbing the back of his neck. "It was your mom's diary from twenty-one years ago." He finally said, looking away from Izuku.

"No way! That's so cool! So twenty-one years ago would be the year before I was born, right? Oh, I wonder what she wrote about!" Izuku wondered aloud. He didn't know much about his mom from when she was younger (she had never liked talking about the good old days), and he was intrigued.

Shouto let out a nervous laugh. "I don't know if you want to know about some of those entries." He said hesitantly. "You're right, she kept this diary the year before you were born. And when I noticed that I got kind of curious, because you never talk about your dad at all and I wondered if there was something about him in there."

That got a rise out of Tenya. He sat up on the couch and began waving his arm around again. "Woah! That is such a huge invasion of privacy! Izuku's mother probably didn't want anyone to read her diary! And who knows what could have been written in there! It's completely unacceptable! Also, the identity of Izuku's father is none of our business! If he doesn't want to disclose that information to us then he doesn't have to!"

"Actually, I have no idea who my dad is. My mom would always change the subject when I asked about him, so I figured it wasn't important." Izuku admitted. It never bothered him- growing up without a dad, that is. His mom was perfect and everything he would ever need. Why would he care about some loser who left before he was even born?

"But aren't you at least a little bit curious about who your dad is?" Shouto urged.

"I mean, I guess. I know next to nothing about the man, so it would be nice to know something. Like what he looked like, what his quirk was, or if he even had a quirk, what his job is, what he liked and disliked. You know?" The more Izuku thought about it, the more he realized how curious he was about the man. Even if he was a good-for-nothing piece of trash.

Shouto paused for a minute. "What if you could? Like, what if you knew a bit more about him?"

Something clicked in Izuku's brain. "My mom wrote about someone in her diary, didn't she?"

Shouto started to nod but then shook his head. "Kind of." He said cryptically.

"Do I want to know?" Izuku asked hesitantly.

"Here, it would be easier if I just read it," Shouto said before reaching into his backpack, pulling out a forest green notebook with a pink heart on the corner. "From what I could tell, she was on a trip here on I-Island when she wrote this."

Tenya gasped upon seeing the diary. "Not only did you read it, but you stole it too?!"

"Hush, Tenya," Shouto scolded him before opening up the book and beginning to read. "October 19, 20XX. What a night. I met this wonderful man named Hisashi while walking on the beach. It was wonderful. We danced on the beach, we kissed on the beach, and..."

"Dot dot dot?" Tenya asked, quirking his head. It seemed as though he had forgotten about the immorality of the situation. "She ended it there?"

"I was confused at first too, so I asked my sister about it. It's a thing they did back in the day, basically means they fucked." Shouto explained nonchalantly.

"Language!" Tenya insisted.

Izuku groaned, holding his head in his hands. "There are some things about my mom that I don't need to know about. Her sex life is one of those things."

"Sorry man," Shouto said, although he didn't sound too sorry. "I can stop if you want," he offered.

That got Izuku's attention. "What do you mean stop? I thought that was it? This Hisashi dude is my dad, right?"

"Um, not quite. There are still a few more entries." Shouto told him. Not liking where this was going, but still curious, Izuku signaled him to keep reading.

"The time I spent with Hisashi was wonderful. However, before leaving, he told me he was engaged. He was to be married once he got back to the mainland. I was devastated." Izuku felt bad for his mom. She thought she had met the perfect man, and he ditched her. What a dick. Shouto turned the page and began reading again. "October 22, 20XX. Trying to take my mind off Hisashi, I went to the Island's docks to watch the ocean. That was where I met Yagi."

"Potential dad number two," He heard Iida say under his breath. Meanwhile, Izuku was trying not to scream.

"No way," Izuku muttered in shock. To say he was freaking out would be an understatement.

Yagi.

There were plenty of people out there named Yagi. There was no way she meant Yagi Toshinori, aka All Might, aka his teacher, aka the man who gave him One for All. It can't be the same Yagi, right?

Izuku tried to collect his thoughts before speaking. "Uh, is there a last name in there, or does it just say, Yagi?" He asked, attempting to keep his voice as calm as possible.

"In one of the next entries, it says Yagi T. I assumed that it was his last initial, so I did some digging and found out his full name is Yagi Toshinori," Shouto told him.

At that moment, Izuku's brain stopped working. Error: Izuku.exe has crashed, view problem details here.

Yagi T. Yagi Toshinori. Oh god, his mom had previously known All Might. She met All Might while on vacation in Greece. She hung out with All Might. His mom probably had sex with All Might too, if the last diary entry was anything to go off of. Izuku felt like he was going to be sick.

"Yagi took me out on his boat, he taught me how to sail, and we got along really well. He was super sweet, kind, and funny. One thing led to another and..."

"Oh god," Izuku whined to himself. He was tempted to pinch himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

"Yagi is the one! I just know it!" Shouto read aloud before turning the page. "October 24, 20XX. I won't be able to see Yagi for awhile. He mentioned having to return home, but he left without saying a proper goodbye. So I'm not sure how things left off between us."

"Wow Izuku, your mom's luck with men isn't the best," Tenya noted.

Izuku sighed. "I have noticed."

"October 26, 20XX." Shouto read. "I decided to go out tonight to get my mind off Yagi. I went to a popular bar on the island, where I met a man. He was the lead singer in the band that performed. I never learned his real name, but his stage name was AFO."

Izuku choked on air. Shouto and Tenya turned to him, looking concerned.

AFO.

All for One, the villain, no wait, supervillain. His mom met one of the most dangerous villains in the world and came out of it alive? How? Also, why was All for One in a band? Did he even have time for that? Izuku figured he would have been too busy trying to kill the previous One for All users to have any hobbies, much less be a singer in a small band on I-Island. But then again, maybe it was just a coincidence. Yeah, there was no way that AFO was the same as All for One. It was just some weird twisted coincidence. It had to be.

"Izuku, you're mumbling again," Shouto said, placing a hand on Izuku's shoulder. "Are you alright? Have you heard of AFO before or something?"

"Something," Izuku muttered. There was no way he could explain how he knew who All for One was, not without revealing the secret of One for All to his friends. "You can keep reading."

Shouto cocked an eyebrow at him, obviously confused. "Right," hesitantly, he raised the book and began reading again. "AFO was amazing. He sang a song for me, he even taught me how to play his guitar. When the bar closed, we decided to go back to his place for the night. One thing led to another and..."

"Fuck my life," Izuku groaned under his breath, pinching the bridge of his nose. First some douchebag, then All Might, and All for One, the villain that was going to eventually try and kill him? How did his mom find these people? "Please tell me there's no one else."

"There was one more person, actually, but there is no way they're your dad," Shouto said, not clarifying any further. Izuku would not have been surprised at all if the fourth man was someone he knew.

"Who?" He asked although he had a feeling he didn't want to know the answer.

"Endeavor."

Izuku choked. "What?!"

Even Tenya seemed shocked. "What was Endeavor doing on I-Island?"

"I did some research and he was there for a mission, but I don't know the exact details. He was there around mid-November, so there's no way he could be Izuku's dad unless he was born prematurely." Shouto looked at Izuku for confirmation.

"Uh, yeah. I wasn't born prematurely." He answered.

"I could read the entry for you guy if you want, but I'll warn you, it's more risqué than the others-"

"Ahhhh it's fine. I don't need to hear it." Izuku interrupted, not wanting to hear about whatever his mom and Endeavor did. He didn't want to be scarred for life, no thank you.

"So it sounds like Izuku has three potential dads. How interesting." Tenya observed. "I'm sure we could run a DNA test to figure out which one is Izuku's actual father. But only if you're comfortable with that."

"Where's the fun in that? I'm sure we could tell who Izuku's real dad is, he would probably look and act just like him. It can't be that hard." Shouto argued, crossing his arms. "If we had them lined up, I could tell which one is the real deal. Definitely."

Izuku laughed nervously. Yeah, there was no way he was going to have All Might, All for One, and some random civilian standing in the same room together. Not in a million years. "I bet you could Shouto, but we don't know where they are or how to contact them. Darn, I guess it will always remain a mystery. Bummer."

Izuku watched as a smile started creeping its way across Shouto's face. It was not reassuring in the slightest. "Why are you smiling like that?" He finally dared to ask.

"Well, about that." Shouto started, his smirk getting impossibly wider. "I may have found their email addresses and sent them all invitations to your wedding? And they all may have all said yes?"

Izuku's jaw hit the floor. "You what?! They said what?!" Izuku asked frantically. "How did you even find their emails?! And why would they say yes?! They don't even know who you are?!"

"Well I figured they would have ignored the invite if it came from me, so I made it look like your mom's email. So they think she sent a wedding invite for her son's wedding. And if what's in this diary is true, then it’s no wonder they said yes." Shouto explained.

Izuku was going to faint. This was not happening. There was no way.

"You can't just invite people to a wedding that isn't your own!" Tenya lectured. "It's very inconsiderate! The guest list is determined by the bride and the groom, not the best man! You should be ashamed of yourself!"

"I wasn't trying to be rude," Shouto argued. "I just wanted Izuku to know who his dad was. Then hopefully they could get to know each other and have a good father-son relationship. Not everyone gets a chance at that, you know."

Oh. That is why he did it. Shouto never had a good relationship with his father, Endeavor, which was understandable because the man was a flaming piece of shit and a horrible father. Shouto probably wanted Izuku to have the good father-son relationship that he never got to experience.

Although he was slightly annoyed that people were invited to his wedding without permission, Izuku couldn't find it in himself to be mad. "I appreciate the thought, I really do. It would have been better if you asked first."

Shouto looked down, embarrassed. "You're right. I should have asked," he apologized. "I guess I got a little ahead of myself there."

“When are they getting here?” Izuku knew All Might was arriving a day before the other guests, but he wasn't sure about Hisashi or All for One.

“Tomorrow morning.”

Great, they would all be on the island tomorrow. So not only would Izuku have to help with wedding preparations, but he would also have to keep the three men away from each other and away from his mom.

Deciding to drop the subject, they started talking about the wedding details. But Izuku couldn't help but let his mind wander. If Shouto invited Toshinori, that means he would have received two invitations, since Izuku had initially sent him one. Did receiving two invitations not seem strange to him at all? As for Hisashi and All for One, how was Izuku going to hide them from his mom? Surely she doesn't want to see them, considering she has never mentioned them once. How was Izuku going to keep All Might and All for One away from each other? Did his mom know that Yagi was All Might? Did she know that AFO was a supervillain? And how would Hisashi play into all of this? While Izuku knew at least a little bit about All Might and All for One, he knew next to nothing about Hisashi. All he knew is that he had to keep the three of them far away from his mom, while also making sure All Might and All for One don't recognize each other and keeping All for One in check so he doesn't try to pull anything dangerous at his wedding.

His seemingly perfect week just got a whole lot more complicated.
