Rohan watched the smoke from Jotaro’s cigarette swirl through the bedroom, highlighted by the softy light of the moon coming through the window. Jotaro glanced down at Rohan and noticed him staring. He blew the cigarette smoke out of his mouth and asked, “What's up?”
“Nothing,” Rohan replied with a grin. He rolled onto his side to face Jotaro better and propped himself up on his arm, “Just, y’know.”
Jotaro leaned over to the nightstand and snuffed the cigarette out in the ashtray sitting by the bed, “No, actually, I don’t know. You're the one that has a stand to read people.”
“Bummer, guess you just aren’t smart enough to know then.”
“Okay asshole, which one of us graduated university?”
“You can’t pull that on me, I’ve been a very successful manga artist for four years! University means nothing,” Rohan said, "It doesn't really matter anyways, I was just thinking about stuff."
Jotaro quietly chuckled and rolled his eyes, “Yeah okay.”
Rohan sat up and looked at his alarm clock, “You wanna stay the night?”
“Might as well, it’s pretty late.”
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
Jotaro shrugged, “Your bed is nicer than the hotel one. I don’t mind staying.”
“Well good, because I actually like it when you stay,” Rohan replied with a smile.
Jotaro sat the coffee cup down on the counter, “I should probably go soon, I have my school stuff to work on and more of the case to look into. Have you gotten anything yet?”
“No, just more pictures. I’m working on rearranging them now to hopefully make it easier to figure something out. What about you?”
Jotaro sighed, “Nothing yet. I’m going up to Kira’s home tomorrow with Josuke, Okuyasu, and Koichi to see if there’s anything there that could help. Until then, nothing. I don't even know if we'll find anything there, honestly.”
“I don’t even know what to look for in the pictures, I’m just taking them and hoping they turn out useful,” Rohan said, putting his coffee cup down next to Jotaro’s. He crossed his arms across his body, “This sucks.”
“We’ll figure it out. It can't be that hard.”
“I know we will, but it still sucks.”
“I need to go, but I’ll talk to you soon,” Jotaro said looking at his watch. He kissed Rohan on the cheek, “Good luck with the pictures.”
“Wait!” Rohan quickly followed Jotaro to the door, “Wait. I have something that I want you to have.”
“You do?”
“Yes. Wait here!”
Rohan went up the stairs and to his studio, digging through one of the drawers of his desk. He went back downstairs and handed Jotaro a key, “For my house. I want you to have a key.”
Jotaro held the key in his hand, “Why?”
“Because- Well I didn’t really think that far. For a lot of reasons technically,” Rohan replied, now unusually flustered.
Jotaro pulled his keys out of his coat pocket and put Rohan’s on the keyring. He stuck the keys back in his pocket and smiled, “Thanks. I’ll keep it safe.”
“You can come whenever you want, the door will always be open for you now.”
“I’ll keep that in mind. I really do need to go now, but I’ll see you again soon.”
“Stay safe.”
“You too.”
Rohan sat down on the arm of his couch, watching through the living room windows as Jotaro pulled out of the driveway. He waved through the window with a smile as Jotaro left before going up to his studio, prepared for a day’s work.
