Work Text:

Rainy Day in Liyue

“It’s raining again.” Xiao muttered to himself as he felt drops of waters are falling from the sky, slowly making him wet from how much it fell. The yaksha did not bother the rain that much though, he won’t get sick from it and not like he hadn’t been letting himself getting wet by the rain before. He calmly walked in Liyue’s mountainous terrain. The rain slowly making everything around him foggy. He found it beautiful and calming. He kept walking and walking until he reached a nearby lake. A familiar figure holding a parasol could be seen by him. He recognized her of course, that woman is literally anywhere whenever he decided to roam alone in Liyue. But she did not make any movement at all, only standing with her red parasol under a tree and watching him slowly approaching her.

“You shouldn’t be here.” Xiao said when he is close enough to her. The girl smiled at him.

“Neither should you. It’s raining, Xiao.” The woman, Lumine said calmly. She walked closer to him and making sure her parasol is reaching him as well.

“Don’t come close. I don’t want to get you wet.” The yaksha warned but she did not listen to him. She moved closer to him, once again she made sure that Xiao is now under the shade of her parasol.

“It’s fine.” Lumine smiled again. She obviously didn’t want to let the rain got him though she obviously know that he couldn’t get sick just like that.

“Lumine, you’ll catch cold. Stop it.” Xiao sighed. But instead of backing off, the woman got even more closer and pecked his wet cheek gently. The adeptus blushed.

“No, I don’t care about that.” She grinned. She gave him another kiss but now on his lips. His lips are cold, probably because of the rain.

“Lumine… fine.” Xiao sighed. He knew how to shut her up, so he kissed her lips. He gently tried not to push her or let his body touch hers because she didn’t want him to make her catching cold. But his hand is roaming freely to hold her hips while his other hand holding her hand she used to hold the parasol. He can feel the soft silk she wears and the texture of her ring on her finger. That ring, the one that he custom made just for her with the finest cor lapis he could found.

“Xiao… oh…” Lumine is a little bit surprised yet she enjoyed the kiss. She knew that Xiao hold her enough not to let her getting even more closer. But after a few second, he let go of the kiss.

“Aren’t your brother supposed to hold you now?” Xiao frowned. He kept asking her brother to keep her at home while he gone doing his adepti’s duty. She should never travel again for a while, not in her condition right now.

“Ah… someone asked him to help doing stuff at Mondstadt so he left. Since he forbade me to come and you’re not coming back sooner, I try to find you.” Lumine smiled. She knew she shouldn’t do this, but she was lonely.

“Glad that you’re okay. You shouldn’t fight.” Xiao sighed. This woman he loved dearly is really stubborn after all.

“You know. I can always call your name and you’ll come if I need help.” Lumine did really take it easy. Well, honestly speaking she could still swing her sword just fine.

“How are you gonna fight in that dress anyway? What if I come late?” Xiao is simply worried about her.

“Ah well, you’re right. But I promised you not to fight and I want to blend in wearing local clothes, can’t help it.” Lumine sighed. She looked down to her stomach after that then Xiao is looking at hers too.

“Yeah, be a little more like a princess now, Lumine. This is an order from an adeptus.” Xiao said, obviously he is just joking about that. Lumine laughed though, and Xiao’s hand landed on her stomach.

“You should do it like… this is an order for you to keep my child save or something.” Lumine joked. Xiao gave her a thin small smile and nodded.

“Mhmm… now we should get you home though. The rain is not as hard anymore anyway.” Xiao mumbled before he took her hand gently. Lumine gladly held his too and walked together with him.

“But please dry yourself and stay at home after this. Or else I don’t want to be escorted back home.” Lumine warned. Xiao nodded at her wish though.

“Sure, if I can keep you not wandering across Liyue.” Xiao nodded once again as they walk back home.

“Yay!” Lumine giggled, she won after all.

Now Xiao wondered how precious she is, just like a rainy day in Liyue that could be cherished forever in his life. Or maybe he is just too deeply in love with her.
