"First off, Siren tech. Fascinating!"

"Although their technology can be very addicting, if you are careful enough, you can manipulate it to follow your will via our special rigging, but it can severely malfunction, so it is not wholly operable. Still, it was a successful test, as shown by Bismarck, who was able to resist falling to insanity when we made our first test. I have to admit, we did not trust Ob̸͑̇͑͑̃̾̓̒̕̚͝ş̸̦̮̯̣̓͊͑̇̒͒̒͘͠͝͠e̵͒̀̒̇̽̓͆̽͝r̶̢̛̟̗͑͑͒̍̐͊̒̇̃͝v̸̿̆̋̈̇̾̅͐͌̈́̄̕͘͝͝e̴̓͌̉̈́͌͘ȑ̵͔̮̖̒̂̕'s claim that they wouldn't interfere, especially since those Sirens are always researching into different possibilities. Personally, I'd rather they keep their nose out of my business; they are not only giving me unnecessary distractions, but they're also giving me headaches, and that does not go well with stress. Ugh..."

"Nevertheless, we outfitted Bismarck with the enhanced rigging of the Sirens, since we did not have any other choice and our prototype rigging was still in development."

"However, there has been an incident a few days ago, and it seems to be coming from this object which apparently caused an error in the Siren's equipment. Its shape is unique, to say the least. It had the shape of the planet Saturn: a sphere with multiple disks adjacent to it. It had a captivating red glow which gave us quite a charming tenderness for it despite its chilling tone. We decided to keep the discovery top secret, as this item may spark some unnecessary attention, as well as prevent any possible political power potential this artifact may have."

"We kept in in S̴̥͉͍͑̽̍̍̐͗̐̿̔̚͠ṱ̷̰̱̎̄͊̿͊̐͗͑̉̑̈́or̸͑̌͑̇̇̌̇̕a̸̪͚̯̠̼̿̈̅̋̔͒ģ̸̹̥͌̆͘͜e̵͙̰̺̩̭̞̳̥̯͇͒̆͗͌͌̑͌̚̕ͅ ̶͍̲̯̣̞̈́̀͝#̴̛͉͓̝̻̖̬͚͇̬̙̮̀͗̏͆͗̅́̄̿̕͝ͅ6̷͚̩̯̫̍͜ͅ6. "*sigh* Okay...things just got weird. I really need a break..."

"Okay, so remember when I said about the strange artifact we received a few days ago? Well, turns out, those Sirens apparently know something about this artifact, and, for some unknown reason, are refusing to tell us what it is, specifically, O̸̜̠͓̜̓b̸͚͖̼͓͂͑͘͘s̵̹̼̚͝e̶̢͇̯̹̗̓r̸̩̗͍̬͕͂̂̊͠v̶̡͎̽̂͑͠ȩ̵̣̮̉̃̂ṙ̶̟̲̊̒̒, who was unusually tight-lipped and dismissive concerning codename "██████", as we come to call this artifact. She's also wondering if this is just the Sirens' excuse for observing from the sidelines, waiting to see what will happen. So I said, 'You know what? Let's give them an interesting event to observe. We are going to research this object we found in the middle of the sea and see what it is capable of.' I mean, this is a great opportunity to see what this thing has in store, and we might have an undiscovered source that will put us above all of our enemies."

I simply said I didn't care, since we had the technology required in case something goes awry. Fortunately, he said he was only warning me but will not try to step in. Finally, a Siren who has a sense of privacy! *relieved sigh*"

"...much has happened lately, didn't get much sleep."

"...we just did the unimaginable."

"We made a human-siren hybrid."

"...okay, let me just...backtrack a bit. *deep breath*"

"It all started when the Kommandantin and I went to Storage #██ yesterday. We were about to open the storage room when a voice whispered to us in the inside. The artifact was glowing when we opened it, so we were understandably alert. But its presence was reassuring, so at least it wasn't hostile. Somehow, S█████, as we come to call it, knew about our research on human-siren hybrid anatomy. Surprisingly, it was willing to cooperate, despite just meeting it a few days ago.

"We were still somewhat unsettled, regardless. But guess what I did?"

"I asked it to help us in the S̴̢͍͛̓i̸̧̡̱̮̒̈́̆r̵̡̛̙̱͙̅e̷̡̱͎͔̒͋ņ̴̣̖̳͚͖̇̌̂͝e̷̞̺̦̗̱͂̔̈́n̶̨̯̘̣͋̐͆ͅ-̷̧̢̻̟̑Z̵̰̔͂̅̊u̷̥̤̤̦̰͑s̷̱̈̌̂a̸̘͙̅̔̊̚̚ͅm̶̡͎͙̝̮̔̄̓̂͌͜m̵̱̬̽̄̋ͅe̵̙̋̚ṇ̸̄s̸̛̼͈̟̗̻͑̈́̐c̵̦̘̥͖̿̌h̴͎̭͕́̾̒͛̍͌l̵̞̲̫̖͌͆̎̈́̆u̷̮͒́s̵̝͈̦̤͂̾̓s̵̨͙̼̹̲͓̊̆ project. "And then...it was over. It was as if nothing else changed. Me and the Kommandantin parted ways after that, but something was compelling me to go back to the lab, as if Sa████ itself was whispering advice to me. So I did."

"I will never forget what happened right then and there."

"Alright, so my Schwester has chosen a few candidates for the first run, and frankly, I think she's really bad at this. And people address her as doktor? Give me a break..."

Those Sakura will start to suspect something if we take one of them away. And I am not going to go ahead and name the others. Classified."

"But she did suggest a few that seemed good enough: the Admiral Hipper class. She wanted them for the test, but she did appear to be overly interested in Blücher, whose body we've managed to recover after she sunk in 1940."

"...her body is currently with me in the lab. As of now, she has yet to start breathing, so I do hope Sa█urn will be willing to go through this one."

"But...I guess I've been having doubts. Still, if this is the path to our ultimate ascension, then we shall-"

"...ascension? What the hell am I saying? Mein Gott, I really need a break...I haven't slept for three days straight..."

You can hear furniture falling and items being tossed around as a pained groan of a woman suggested that something was in her. A yelp of pain arose as the sounds you hear gave you the impression that she fell on the floor. Icky, sticky, and gooey sounds were present as the woman's breath became more labored, more painful, and soon, more adnormal. She screams once again - as if desperately pleading for help but to no avail - a fleshy explosion could be heard, and the woman's scream abruptly cut off before you hear a sound of a body flopping to the floor. It sounds like she died, but a growling said otherwise.

"The experiments have been going smoothly. Apart from the screams, I've gotten used to them begging for mercy. "So I am currently trying something new. A few years ago, I took a test sample from one of the humanoid Sirens and decided to insert them into a human, specifically, the Kommandatin. I cannot believe I did not think of this sooner! Saturn truly is essential to our ascension."

"But I am more excited at what's about to come!"

"After O̸̴̸p̵̷̶e̴̶̶r̸̴̷a̶̷̸t̴̷̸i̵̷̵o̷̶̶n̴̷̸ ̴̶̸R̸̵̶e̵̸̷g̶̵̵e̷̴̸n̵̵̴b̷̴̵o̶̵̶g̶̴̶e̴̶̶n̵̵̸ failed, Der Fuhrer was furious, rightfully so. But when I heard that he wanted the entire Kriegsmarine surface force paid off and dismantled for their guns to be used for the Atlantic wall, we were horrified. I need Hipper for my testing, dammit! I won't let you take her nor any of my test subjects from me!"

"Luckily, with the help of Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz, we managed to convince him to spare the fleet and sent À̷̞d̷͚́m̵̜͝i̶̼̊r̶͚̄a̴͙̐ļ̴̍ ̷̟̏H̴̭̔ĩ̶̖p̴̮͌p̴̡̒é̷͇r̸̳̃, K̴̺̓ǫ̷̈͂l̴̰͝n̶̺̚, and the destroyer R̶̖̄i̵͍̾c̷͈̈́h̵̩͌ǎ̸̧ȓ̸͈d̸͙͛ ̸͉B̸̤̓e̴̥̓i̵͎͘t̸͔͝z̸̫͠e̵̳̎n̴͖̒ to Altafjord for Hipper to undergo emergency repairs before sending them back to their homeland. After sending them on a few patrols, we had them return to the Port of Kiel where we had Hipper decommissioned in accordance to Der Fuhrer's decree."

"Unsurprisingly, many of the Iron Blood shippeople protested. Even E̷̦̚ṟ̴̔ḯ̶̞k̴̻̐ǎ̴̩, and she was the most unhinged compared to Ṟ̶͆o̸͓͝o̸̼͗ṇ̸̓. I guess professionals have standards... *ahem*

"But in truth, this was a whole excuse to get me to her. Der Fuhrer understands somewhat that the surface fleet is important; however the failed operation had been a thorn on his side, and he was not going to let it go without a proper plan. After begging a few times, he gives in and assigns me to fix - maybe even greatly improve - the technology we have, thus the reason why we announced Admiral HIpper's decommission: it would at least alleviate suspicions that may grow, or at the very least, dispel any doubts present."

"Now all I need is Prinz Eugen, and then we can finally start on the one project I've been wanting to do for so long:"

"S̴i̷r̸e̵n̶e̶n̸v̶e̴r̴b̷e̷s̶s̷e̵r̴u̴n̵g̵."

"So...what is this lab? I understand it is meant to be kept a secret, but my knowledge is limited to only that."

"It is a lab, Ms. Eugen. However, as we are keeping this lab's location a secret, you may see how willing we are."

"So much so that...what? You're gonna kill anyone who does leak the coordinates of this place?"

"Hahaha, I see you read your homework, Ms. Hipper! Yes. We use any means necessary. Even if it means death."

"Oho, am I'm guessing that you will kill yourselves if you fail?"

"Eugen! That's way out of-"

"Why are we even here then? Don't tell me you're sending us to our death."

"Now, now, Hipper, that is quite an assumption to make."

"It's fine, Eugen. I..."

"Yes? Go on."

"...peace?"

"I CAN GIVE YOU WHAT YOU TRULY DESIRE. NO LONGER WILL YOU SUFFER ANYMORE. I CAN, AND WILL..."

"...make you feel True Happiness."

The voice grew less harsh, more gentle. Prinz Eugen's breath faltered. It had indeed been a long time since she felt any joy at all. The countless times she had failed to protect the ones she held close to her heart...It was suffocating to even think about.

Whether she liked it or not, the memories of her comrades nearly falling to the hands of the SIrens or other nations would invade her mind without warning. Now, they either lay still in their hospital beds in a coma, with an unknown amount of time until they woke up, or live with the trauma of their survival. She would sometimes refuse to sleep in fear of having those nightmares resurface to her mind, which would cause her to develop eye bags. Her life was a mess, and she knew not what to do with it.

But i̴f̴ what ̷t̷h̵e̵ ̸e̵n̸t̶i̴t̷y̵ said is true, then she may have a chance to redo her mistake. Maybe she can finally have a chance to fix the disastrous decisions she had made.

"I can make you whole again. Come, poor soul, and you will-"

"Not happening!"

The icky tentacles were bombarded with shells as Admiral Hipper stood in front of Prinz Eugen, between her and the artifact's dark presence.

"You say that I- no, you say everyone despises her for what she did," Hipper began as Dr. Klara slid behind the shadows to grab something.

"It is the truth. Nothing will say otherwise."

"Well, that's bullsh*t! Because I don't think that!"

The dark presence seemed to have recoiled from that response. "LIES," it declared.

"Sure, she may be annoying at times, and...sometimes a downright pain in the ass," Hipper continued. "But I know that deep down she cares! No matter how she acts, no matter what she says, she cares for everyone! Even me, Blücher, everyone!"

The dark presence was silent, enabling Hipper to finish her statement. "And what kind of...what kind of sister hates her other sibling just because she loves her?!" Hipper stood her ground, despite the clear irritation of the dark presence emerging, with the tentacles around them slithering along. "You are the one that is lying! Not me, not even Lord Bismarck!"

The dark presence roared as a tentacle burst through the concrete wall to grab Hipper, but an explosion disintegrated it, making the dark presence yell in rage. Hipper turned around to see Klara holding experimental grenades, throwing another at the dark presence.

A tentacle suddenly emerged from behind and slapped Klara across the room towards Hipper, leading to both of them slamming against the wall.

Hipper coughed up the air, but she was more worried about Klara, who was human, and she was slammed at an alarming speed. Sure enough, Klara yelped in pain as she tried to get up, but she was able to somewhat stand on her two feet, albeit her back was slightly sore.

"Well, well, look who got themselves caught by the bird and about to be fed to its babies..."

Hipper and Klara turned to see a few shipgirls she had not seen before. Their skin resembled that of Sirens, but their clothing looked similar to ones of the Iron Empire, the nation that existed before the Ironblood came to be.

And among them...was Bismarck and Blücher.

"Wait, Bismarck, you're- B-Blücher?!" Hipper exclaimed.

"Hipper!"

As the two sister ships embraced each other tightly, Klara stumbled towards the newcomers. "L-Lord Bismarck! Glad to see you have come. And with the König sisters as well- Oof!"

Klara's legs grew shaky and grabbed onto Bismarck's shoulders for support. "Don't push it," Bismarck reprimanded.

"S-Sorry. I can't stand on my own, but I-I can still walk."

"Easy now, Doktor, we can't have you dying on us," Markgraf said. "Plus, I think you've done enough to piss this scheißkerl off."

The dark presence once again roared, and another tentacle shot at them but was sliced open by Grosser Kurfürst with her rapier, who then took her place in front of the Ironblood shipgirls.

"Enough of your jokes, Schwester! Everyone, we are out of here! LOS! LOS!"

Grosser quickly side-stepped to her right as another tentacle dug through the concrete, and all of them except for Mia ("Aw, come on! He likes you!") began to run for their lives. Klara quickly grabbed the recorder before being carried by Markgraf, much to Klara's annoyance. They could scarcely hear Mia scream something in an unknown language, but they didn't need to wait long to know what it meant.

A female scientist jumped out of nowhere, but it quickly revealed itself to be infested as it raised its face. Its left eye was missing, replaced with a small red-glowing upside-down triangle. It hunched over as if setting itself to charge at them, revealing its black tentacles seemingly extending from its spine.

It suddenly jerked its entire upper body backward and let out the most piercing scream, prompting everyone to cover their ears. The wail was so loud, Hipper's ears were ringing as she covered them with her hands, gritting her teeth.

And then the scientist lurched forward and dashed at them at a rate one would consider impossible for an average man. It threw a jap at Bismarck but was interrupted by König punching it to the wall.

It quickly recovered, however, proceeding to jump back into action by attacking König. Soon after, a few of the infested scientists started appearing, and all of them were engaged in close-quarters combat with the Ironblood shipgirls.

Blocking a tentacle jap, König managed to barely duck under a tentacle attempting to go for her head, grabbing another tentacle and pulling it, throwing the monster off-balance before shoving her 12-inch guns into its face and firing.

Smoke engulfed both of them as the tentacle-infested woman shrieked in surprise. However, as the smoke cleared, König saw that its torso was still intact, with the infested woman's face sporting a large burnt mark on its cheek as an affirmation that it did hit the woman.

Apparently, their skin is made out of the same material as shippeople.

The infested, arching back from the blow, hunched itself forward and adjusted its eyes, demonstrating a quick recovery. Taking advantage of König's revelation, it headbutted her, and, grabbing her left leg, it threw her across the hallway and through the double doors, and König slammed into a closed elevator hatch door, denting it slightly.

Wrenching the door off of its hinges, it quickly sprinted across the metallic platform towards her, determined to finish the job for its Glorious Savior. However, König once again fired her cannons, interrupting its charge, and König took the chance to punch it again and fire at it the third time, sending the infested tumbling backward.

König was running out of options, so she resorted to using an ability she herself was specialized at:

Observing.

She noticed that they were both in a large ventilation shaft, with a large turbine fan at the very bottom, right below the platform they were standing at. She quickly pieced it together - if it cannot be damaged, then maybe it can be torn apart instead. But with what?

Grunting, it again sprinted towards her and leaped at her, and König leaped sideways as it slammed its tentacles onto the platform, and it slightly wobbled. Balancing herself, König quickly devised a plan: she obviously cannot hurt it, nor can she even attempt at grabbing it, since its agility is something to be reckoned with.

As the infested leaped again, König dodged a second time and the woman slammed the platform again, the platform wobbling, this time more evident. If it was going to keep on doing this, the platform might just break.

König, dodging again, leaped near the doors. She could see the metal bars holding the platform up starting to tear themselves in two. One more.

It leaped once again, and König leaped backward through the double doors, rolling on the floor as she landed. Hearing the scream of the infested scientist, she heard the clang and a snap of metal, as well as metallic pieces being thrown around.

Then an explosion. König gulped as the roof slightly crumbled, bits of concrete falling. She ran back towards the ensuing battle and heard the voice of Klara calling to her. Turning around, she saw Klara carrying what looks like to be a grenade, but it glowed oddly blue.

"K-König, here!"

Tossing it at her, she caught it and warned everyone to stand back, before pulling the pin and throwing it at the incoming horde.

The grenade exploded, and all of a sudden it formed a large blue bubble around it, slowing down the infested scientists that were unfortunate to be within its range.

Klara wiped the sweat off her face and leaned onto a concrete wall. "Whew, I thought that wasn't going to work."

Hipper rushed towards her. "What was that?"

"Time grenade," Klara replied. "Siren test. Need any more explanations?"

"Eh, not anymore. Come on, let's get out of this cursed place-"

*BSHK*

"G-Gahk...!"

"Klara!"

All of a sudden, a tentacle, emerging from the wall Klara was leaning against, pierced through her chest. Unsheathing her rapier, Kronprinz sliced the tentacle in half as Klara stumbled forward and caught by König, Klara's head resting on her shoulder.

"No, no, no, stay with me, Klara, stay with me!" König yelled in panic, trying to cover the wound, but she was bleeding too quickly, and König was worried she may not have enough time to stop it.

"J-Just run, K-König," Klara choked out, coughing blood as she continued to bleed profusely.

"Sh*t! The wound's too big!" Hipper exclaimed.

"I-I know...y-you're wasting y-your time with m-me." Klara gasped.

"Stop! I'm going to get you out of here! Don't talk too much!"

"W-Why me? My sister was the one who s-saved you..."

"You were the one that truly saved us, Doktor! Please...don't give up!"

"König...g-get out of here."

"I WON'T LET YOU-"

"K-KÖNIG!"

König was stunned at Klara's sudden voice of authority. After coughing up again, Klara continued. "S-Someone needs to tell someone about t-this... all of you are n-not strong enough to s-stop this monstrosity m-my...s-sister has created." Klara shakily grabbed the recorder and gave it to König, who accepted it in confusion. "W-When you find the help and f-firepower, c-come back. P-Purge this infestation, this...abomination we have c-created. T-That is...m-my only wish."

"B-But...what am I supposed to do?"

Klara smiled. "G-Give it to my assistant...R-Reisha Mayflower. T-The half-English Ironblood woman...she'll k-know...w-what to do..."

Klara's vision grew blurry as her eyelids started to grow heavy, and her eyelids closed as the last thing she heard was the broken-hearted wail of König screaming her name.

"KLARA!"
