Summary
It was totally Taehyung’s fault. Like it always was, really. All the times they got scolded for getting in trouble or doing things that Jeongguk knew they shouldn’t have in the first place. But it was always the same thing: Taehyung would get this sparkle in his eyes and Jeongguk would be lost in it when in reality his chaotic brain was exploding with new synapses full of mischief as he architected something that would for sure get them a meeting with their managers and a few of Namjoon’s “I’m so tired” looks. Jeongguk – and Jimin – knew how to recognize it a lot earlier now. It was almost like an aura that rests itself around him when he is scheming. A disturbance in the wavelengths around them that he managed to fine tune himself to be able to observe.
At the time he felt it, on that summer day in 2017, Jeongguk told himself that no, he was done. Sure, he had a major weakness when it came to Taehyung, but enough was enough.
or Time-travel AU, where it turns out that following Taehyung to a creepy glowing fountain was the best idea Jeongguk ever had, especiall when they end up in 2020 where their older selves seem to be in love and have been dating for three years.
