Summary
The island of Nuòyán is barely being held together by the five groups in charge of running it. The island is a technological empire, featuring glowing neon skyscrapers and cyberbikes that fly through the air. For the past few years, the Wen Group has been trying to become the most powerful of the five.
After making a tragic mistake five years ago that harmed the Jiang Group’s reputation, Wei Wuxian has lived apart from his adoptive family, making a living doing shady jobs. Lan Wangji was a part of the distinguished Lan Group until Wei Ying’s disappearance.
Working as a tattoo artist (much to his Uncle’s dismay), Wangji sees his fair share of odd and difficult clients. However, when the leader of the Wen Group walks into the shop and demands to see Wei Wuxian, it is a challenge he was unprepared for. Not only has he not seen Wei Wuxian since he disappeared, but he had done so on the day Wangji had hurt him terribly. With the five groups on the brink of chaos, Wangji faces heartbreak and desperation in his search to find Wei Ying before it's too late.
