Aether, after months of frequently doing commissions for the Adventurers guild and for saving Mondstadt since the Stormterror incident has gained many admirers and one of them is Barbara, the deaconess of the church and younger sister of Jean, the acting grandmaster.
For months, she always prayed to her god to alleviate her feelings of admiration that turned into love for Aether and she always prayed that she can have courage to confess to him so that her pounding and aching heart will be relieved. She attempted many times to confess to him but it was always interrupted due to the demand for his services and his investigations in finding his sister. She only confessed to him when he returned from Liyue after the Lantern rite festival. He only told her that he will think about it which she agreed to be answered in a few days. She waited and waited until she heard rumors about Aether seeing a girl somewhere outside the city, so she will verify it by herself. For some days she followed Aether but he was always very elusive but she didn't gave up until now.
Currently, Aether is alone walking at Starfell like during the night gazing the stars thinking of something very deep and Barbara on the other hand hid herself to verify the rumors. She waited until she saw someone, a tall blonde woman with blue eyes similar to her, it’s her sister Jean who is now dressed in short skirt and short sleeved blouse which is not typical of her as much as she remembered.
Barbara observed the two for a few minutes and they were talking happily and then she was shocked on what she saw. Her sister and Aether were kissing passionately, she tried to hold her tears, she couldn’t believe it that her sister and Aether have a relationship but why? And she then heard Aether speaking
“Jean, Barbara confessed to me recently, but I couldn’t say no as she is very kind to me” Jean nodded and sighed and began to speak lowly while blushing
“I see, Barbara is always a good girl, as much as I can do, I don’t want her feelings to be hurt, but I don’t want also to make ourselves to suffer Aether” he nodded at that and he said
“Don’t you think we should tell her about us, after all she is your sister, she will understand” Jean agreed to him, then Barbara showed up who was still crying
“No! You don’t need to tell me about your relationship, I couldn’t believe it! My own sister and you………………… why? Why it couldn’t be me Aether why?” Jean then rushed to Barbara attempting to hug her but her arms were swatted down by her and looked at her furiously
“No! I don’t need your hug sister! No Master Jean, how many months are you in a relationship with him?!” Jean tried to speak but it was Aether who replied
“We were in a relationship since she confessed to me after the rite of descension in Liyue, and please Barbara, try to understand us, I love your sister I’m sorry” Barbara only cried at that and she ran away. Jean tried to chase her but she was stopped by Aether.
“Let her go for a while Jean, let her cool down for a while” Jean only nodded and cried. Aether only hugged her and comforted her by putting his left hand on her back stroking it. Barbara on the other hand ran towards the cathedral and rushed to her bed thinking on why Aether loved her sister than her because she is the Acting Grandmaster?, she is a good swordswoman and warrior?, because she is taller, and gifted with a more beautiful body? Why? Why?
