Work Text:
Working with Yoongi was actually really nice. But unfortunately it was also really quick. Jimin wished he could be Yoongi's focus for the rest of his life but he knew that wasn't possible. He wanted to talk to Yoongi but both of them got dragged away by the crew members.
Jimin didn't even get to see the pictures because his manager told him that they have to hurry for their next schedule. He didn't want that. He saw Yoongi for the first time after 7 years. For the first time after he realized his feelings for the older boy, how can he just leave?
But Yoongi was nowhere to be found and Jimin was getting pulled towards the car. It was all Jimin's fault anyways, so maybe it's something he will have to live with forever. He was the one who stopped everything. When his parents moved to Seoul he could've tried harder to keep in contact with Yoongi. He could've answered his calls instead of pretending that is busy. He could've opened the door when Yoongi came to see him all the way to Seoul, afraid that something happened. He could've been a better friend, but instead he closed his heart and focused on his dreams. Because he wouldn't be hurt there, right?
The truth was, after leaving Daegu, Jimin missed Yoongi terribly. He missed him so much that Jimin realized how much in love he actually was. And that scared him even more. He was only thirteen when he realized he was gay. He didn’t know how to handle that and he realized that he is in love with his best friend and that /that/ could change everything.
Only when he became an idol did he realize how many people were similar to him. He never realized because just like him, they were all hiding and pretending behind their beautiful smiles. Everyone was pretending to be someone they aren’t. But Jimin was honestly tired of pretending.
Jimin realized then how much of an idiot he was, but it was too late. He wasn't able to reach Yoongi again, and he was so in love that nobody else could come in his heart. His fears took the most important thing away from him, so how can he ask for another chance when it was all his fault in the first place.
Camera lights woke him up from his depressing thoughts. He tried to smile but he knew it wasn't genuine. Fans and paparazzi were everyone around him but this time he couldn’t pretend. Will he really do that? Get inside of the car and potentially risk to never see Yoongi again? Jimin thought that he is different, that he changed, but apparently he is the same coward as he has always been.
No! Jimin broke out of the crowd and ran back inside the building. There was no way that he will let this chance just pass him by. Yoongi didn't look angry back then so maybe he will forgive Jimin. Maybe there was a chance for them to be something, to be friends again at least.
Jimin would accept any role as long as he gets to be part of Yoongi's life again. Even if he gets rejected, at least he will know in his heart that he at least tried. He was contemplating weather he should use the elevator or just run up the stairs when the elevator door opened.
Flushed Yoongi ran out, almost running over Jimin. "Oh god, you're still here" he said breathless. Why was he even breathless he was taking the elevator? "I wanted to pack quickly so that I can talk to you but then you just disappeared and I thought I will never see you again and I really didn't want that to happen."
Jimin almost cried at that, but years of learning to keep his feelings at bay didn't allow him to." I came back for you." Jimin quietly said. He saw Yoongi's eyes widening, he looked so funny but Jimin didn't laugh." I almost went with them but I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t just leave you again."
Jimin could see Taehyung running his way but stopping when reading the atmosphere. "I didn't want to lose you again hyung. I never want to lose you again." now, Jimin couldn't stop his tears, damn with all the makeup.
He was standing in front of the most important person in his life, he can't pretend in front of him. Yoongi hugged him and Jimin squeezed him back. Yoongi was moving his hand up and down Jimin's back to sooth him. He stayed silent, supportive as always.
"Jiminie we have to go." Taehyung called him. He didn't even spoke two words to Yoongi and it kind of pissed Jimin off a little.
It wasn't enough he needed more of this, more of Yoongi.
Yoongi thought the same apparently because he pulled out a paper with numbers scribbled down which Jimin assumed is his cellphone number.
"Call me whenever you can. We have a lot to catch up on." They reluctantly let go of each other. "I promise I will."
Yoongi and Jimin ended up confessing to each other after a few dates they had together. Taehyung as Jimin’s manager wasn’t happy about that but he couldn’t stop Jimin. Jimin was hiding his feelings for a very long time, so when a moment for him to be happy finally came Taehyung couldn’t take that from him. Not when he himself fell in love with Yoongi’s colleague Jungkook.
