Hitoshi looked to Denki, where he was hanging off the couch, and sighed, “I guess we should see what our boyfriend needs help with.”
“I was tired of doing nothing. Your dad is mean. I mean I only short-circuited the fridge one time and that was because Zuzu scared me. I can be around appliances, thank you very much,” Denki sit up, pouted and crossed his arms.
“Izu can scare anyone; there is a reason his Hero name is Silence,” Hitoshi looked back to the kitchen where Shouta and Hizashi were prepping for the picnic and yelled, “Denki and I are going to meet with Izuku and Eri. Text me when you both are ready to meet at the beach.”
Hitoshi heard a grunt, mostly likely coming from his dad. He looked at his phone to see the location that Izuku sent in their group chat. It is not very far from the beach so Izuku must of wanted to be around the area for when they all get together. The group of them (Hitoshi, Izuku, Denki, Shouta, and Hizashi), was going to surprise Eri with a picnic on the beach since it was the first day of spring and Eri never been on a picnic. Izuku was to take Eri out to distract her (Eri loves hanging out with him whenever she can), and the rest of them to prep for the picnic but then dad kicked them out of the kitchen because their kitchen was small for four people to work in it and Denki has short-circuited the refrigerator at the dorms (No one was happy about that). So now Hitoshi and Denki are on team distract since Izuku askes for help with something, at least he reached out to them. He got up and hold his hand out for Denki to grab. After Denki took his hand, they both put on their shoes and went out the door.
When they arrived at the location, which was a park near the beach. It was a nice day out with the sun shining and a slight breeze blowing. Sunlight shined through some trees highlighting Izuku and Eri. Hitoshi sees Izuku teaching Eri some sign language on a bench. There would be times that Eri could not speak, her brain was conditioned to be quiet and Izuku knew how that was. Izuku again proving Hitoshi’s and Denki’s point that Izuku would make a great teacher. The two walked to the pair and Izuku hearing them come up, turned his head and smiled. Eri saw them too and jumped up, looking at them. Denki smiled, nodded his head, and opened his arms up. She ran up to him and hugged him. She looked to Hitoshi and the same thing happened. This made Eri smile at them and Hitoshi swears that it was the brightest smile he has seen next to Izuku and Denki’s genuine smiles. He looked to Izuku with his eyebrow raised, waiting for him to explain why he asked for help.
“So, what did you need us for Zuzu?” Denki asked, breaking the silent question that Hitoshi before Izuku could answer.
“Ummm… well… Eri saw people riding some bicycles and she asked if she could ride some. There is a rental very close by. I can pay but I do not know how to ride a bike either,” Izuku said putting his hand to the back of his neck where his choker was covering his scar that goes around his neck. The three of them each have their own choker so that Izuku would not be the only one wearing one. Hitoshi’s was the thinnest with a purple ZZZ hanging from it. Denki’s was the second thinnest with a yellow lightning bolt hanging from it. Izuku’s was the thickest of the three with a green speech bubble that said “…” hanging from it.
Denki’s eyes lit up, “I can teach you both how to ride a bike. It is not too hard and you both are fast learners.”
“I am almost afraid to ask what your experience of how to ride a bike was,” Hitoshi muttered. He knew how to ride a bike but Denki seems like he really wanted to do it, plus the way Izuku and Eri lit up at Denki’s words.
Denki must of heard him because he responded, “It wasn’t that bad. Let's see. When first learning, my brother tried to push me down a hill since that is what he did with our sister. It didn’t work with me. I got scared and stopped. When we went more on a straighter road, I ran into a mailbox twice. I think it was the same mailbox both times. Then when we went farther back on the road, it started with a small, shallow hill to straight and then a curve. The first time starting on that when I got to the curve, I was going a bit fast and when I went to turn, I ran into a wooden fence. I don’t think I hurt the fence. I bent the front of my bike though.”
“Oh my Nezu.”
“Izuku’s dad?” Eri asked while tilting her head to the side.
“Nezu is basically like a god. I wouldn’t be surprised if he were one,” Hitoshi explained, “So Ki can you teach them to where they won’t be running into objects?”
Denki nodded with a determined look on his face. Hitoshi knows that Denki would not let any of them get hurt. Izuku grabbed Eri’s hand and walked to where the bike rental was. After a few minutes, they came back with a white kid’s bike and three adult bikes in each of their colors.
“Why did you get three adult bikes?” Hitoshi asked.
“So, we can all ride together.”
Hitoshi rolled his eyes and went to sit on the bench while Denki teaches the two. He looks at his phone to check the time. There was still probably plenty of time until they were supposed to meet with dad and pops. He could hear Denki going through what each thing on a bike was. Once he was done with that, he had one of them get on the bike, which was Eri first. When she got on, Denki hold the bike steady for her. He asked her if she was ready to try and she nodded, with a determined look in her eyes. She starts to pedal, and Denki holds on. After doing this a couple of times when Eri is comfortable enough, Denki lets go of her and she is riding on her own. When she manages to get a hang of it, they all celebrate. They get looks from passersby, but they do not care and if they did Hitoshi just glared at them. Eri was his sister, and no one will ruin this. Next was Izuku’s turn, and it took less time for him to get a hang of it since he was watching how Eri did it. They still celebrate anyway.
Hitoshi feels his phone go off and sees that he got a text message from his dad:
TiredCat to SleepyKitten
TiredCat – We are on our way to the beach.
Hitoshi looked back to his two boyfriends and nodded to them. The two knew what he was referring to. Time to get the show on the road.
“How about we ride the bikes to the beach? It isn’t that far,” Denki asked. Eri nodded her head in agreement. They each got on their respectable bikes and took off. Denki was leading the charge, Izuku, and Eri in the middle, with Hitoshi in the back. The sun was shining brightly above them, some clouds floating in the sky, and a breeze going past them. Hitoshi smiled at some of his favorite people in the whole world was in front of them, being able to have fun no matter what has happened to them.
They made to the beach safely (After Denki almost crashed into a fence when he tried to ride it with no hands). Shouta and Hizashi were already on the beach and were placing down the blanket. They put their bikes on a bike rack near there and walked up to the two. Eri was confused about what was going on but did not ask, grabbing onto Hitoshi’s hand as they walked. Pops spotted them and dramatically waved to the group of four. Denki did the same, while Izuku gave a small wave.
“Hey listeners. I saw you all’s ride. Did you have fun?” Pops asked the last question to Eri as they all walked up to the two. Dad was getting the food and drinks out of the picnic basket.
Eri lit up and let go of Hitoshi’s hand to go next to pops and started to tell him about her day and how they got to ride bikes. The trio of boys went to where Shouta was and helped him got everything placed. Once that was done, Eri was done talking and looked at everything. There were sandwiches, different fruits like apples and strawberries, and juice to drink. Eri tilted her head, silently asking a question.
“We are having a picnic for the first day of spring. It is where you can get together with people, eat, and hang out outside,” Shouta explained as he handed her a strawberry.
They all sat down, started to eat and talk about their days. Eri recited the story she told pops to dad. He nodded along while she was telling it. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Denki frantically searching around. He looked over to Izuku who seemed to be helping him.
“He lost his ring in the sand somewhere,” Izuku stated.
Eri heard this too and asked, “What ring?”
Hitoshi responded so the two could continue looking, “It is a ring that is part of a set for the three of us. It is like the necklaces or chokers we wear; they represent our love for each other and how we are connected. It is a promise. The rings were dad and pops before it was ours.” Eri’s face scrunched up as she was thinking.
“But there are three of you and two of dad and pa?”
Hitoshi looked over to his dad since this was not his place to talk. Shouta sighed, looked over to pops, hold his hand, and looked up to the clouds in the sky.
“There were three of us, Hizashi, me, and Oboro. We were like you see Denki, Izuku, and Hitoshi are. He was the best friend and partner anyone could have,” Shouta continued to look up at the clouds and Hizashi squeezed his hand in support, “I believe every time we see the clouds, he is watching us, making sure everything is okay.”
Eri looked between Shouta and Hizashi and then nodded to herself. “Can we go visit him sometime? I would like to see my other papa and introduce myself.”
Shouta looked at Eri, gave her a gentle smile, and nodded his head. They begin to pack up. Denki is heard yelling “Hooray!” when Izuku found the ring. Everyone laughs as Denki jumps up and down. When they are leaving, Shouta stops Eri and hands her a black scrunchie, that had clouds on it to put her hair up.
“This was a gift from Oboro since I always had long hair. I think he would like you to have it,” Shouta looks to Hitoshi also and holds his hand out to both of his kids, “Now let's say we visit your papa.”
So I made what the chokers, rings, and scrunchie look like.
