   Summary

   The year is 2104. Neo-Midgar, once prosperous, has fallen under the influence of the White Knights: the city's most prestigious — and corrupt — military force. Cloud, newly seventeen and freshly poor, is forced to join them. His training is difficult and often lonely, but he forms an unexpected bond with Zack Fair, a fellow cadet.
