It’s been a while since Zari and you have worked together in the missions, and there is a reason for that, you’re really nervous around her since you confessed your feelings for her, you get yourself into a mess and don't want to know about Zari's version which probably be an error, but you can be a real stubborn sometimes. She learnt to give you space, she's being really patient because knows sooner or later you have to talk to her, you literally live in a time ship with only one bathroom and share it with five other people, privacy was never an option although you're being successful avoiding her for a week or that was until now.
You’re reading a book while walking in the hallway, you’re so into it that you’re not paying attention to where you are walking bumping into Zari who is playing video games in the Nintendo switch, when you stumble through the book and the game console fall.
You bend down taking the objects and you raise your look finding Zari’s eyes-I’m sorry I broke the screen-you murmurs getting up and give the Nintendo to her-I’ll buy you another.
Zari looks at you smiling-It’s okay Y/N, you don’t have to buy anything, it has been an accident.
You nod thinking you can leave her there and go back to your book and then maybe have dinner in your room alone, instead of that you take a deep breath before say-I’m sorry for being an idiot the past week.
-It’s okay Y/N-she repeats smiling.
-Not it’s not!-you exclaim-I’ve been behaving like a stubborn idiot with you for an entire week.
-You’re a stubborn idiot-she seems to enjoy this and you roll your eyes.
-Why can’t you accept my apologies and we can move on?
-I’m accepting them-she says-You’re the one who seems not to be accepting your own apologies.
-I thought you were going to be mad at me-you say with exasperation-And yell to me!
-Do you want me to yell?-she asks-Fine!-she exclaims-You’re an idiot who is too blind to see I like you!-in that moment Zari realises what she said squeezing her jaw.
You’re in shock and almost drop the book again-I’m sorry-you murmur-Do you like me?-you ask frowing.
-Yes Y/N, yes I do-she sighs raising her look.
-I’m definitely an idiot-you giggle and she smiles at you-Do you want to have dinner with me?-you ask carefully-I mean… we’re alone in the ship, and I was going to make a pizza and eat it in my room while watching some TV… but if you don’t have any other plans we could have dinner together in the kitchen…-you gesticulate nervous and Zari seems to be enjoy it.
-I’d love to-she answers before kissing your cheek-I see you there in thirty minutes.
You see her move away before murmur a-She’ll be the death of me.
Exactly thirty minutes later you go into the kitchen and ask Gideon to prepare a couple of pizzas while you set the table you’re entertaining by putting on the glasses and don’t realise Zari is there until she coughs and you raise your look smiling, she has curl her hair and change the T-shirt.
-I should change my clothes-you murmur looking at your jeans and hoodie.
-You’re fine-she answers getting closer.
-Well are you hungry?-you ask pointing at a chair for her to sit down.
-I’m starving-she says in an exaggeration way and you laugh before putting the pizzas on the table.
The date is going well, Wait, is this a date? you think while she giggles for some nonsething you just say, has she just flirt with you?, Okay, this is a date. Zari talks about her family and you listen carefully, after all you’re a great listener and your family is not that perfect family everyone thinks it is, in that short time you learn her brother had a special recipe for nachos and she loves cats which is funny because you’re allergic to them and she laughs about it for minutes when you told her you were sneezing for five minutes straight the first time you went to a friend house who had three cats.
After dinner both of you clean the plates between jokes and you accompany her to her bedroom, even Zari insists on not being necessary having in mind your room is near the kitchen than hers, but you don’t listen to her, now she’s resting in her room’s door smiling at you.
-Thank you for the dinner-she says touching your hand.
-Thank you for not being mad at me, considering, and paraphrasing you 'I’m a stubborn idiot'-you smile and she rolls her eyes.
-You called yourself that before I do-Zari answers happily-But I’m not going to lie, I think it sometimes.
You make a movement like you’re really hurt for hearing that and she giggles.
-Good night Y/N-she murmurs before kissing your cheek and closing the door behind her.
You have a smile on your face all the way to your room and jump into your bed just in the moment you hear Sara and Ava giggling and kissing in the hallway, that’ll be a long night but you don’t care because Zari said she likes you, and with that thought you fall asleep.
