Summary
By the time the smell of Mako, corruption and decay reaches her, and she realizes another beast managed to sneak up on them, it’s too late for her to get the upper hand with only her fists. Before she has time to react, an arm hooks around her waist, and she’s pulled aside roughly. She lands on the ground, a warm, hard body pressed against her own, shielding her from the impact. She hears Zack yell, metal against flesh, the whimper of the beast.
Then, just breathing, her own and someone else’s. She looks down at the man who pulled her out of harm’s way, and is met with a painfully familiar face. For a moment, time stands still as wide, blue eyes stare back at her.
Turk!Tifa/Soldier!Cloud. AU where the Nibelheim Incident didn’t happen and Shinra is just a little bit less shady. Somewhere along the way, Cloud and Tifa fall in love.
