‘’What the fuck, Sunny!’’
Aubrey yelled as she pulled Sunny onto the couch. Sunny suddenly felt Aubrey hug him tightly, as if she was trying to crush him. He only let out a small muffled grunt as she did. Kel could only stand from behind and watch Sunny be trapped. The couch was ten times softer though, with Aubrey basically using him as a teddy bear. It was also way warmer, or was that just him?
‘’Sunny, you need to stop doing this shit.’’ Aubrey firmly said. ‘’Or I’ll have to force you to take care of yourself.’’
Oh right, Sunny went back on his old habit of not eating anything of value for days, and unsurprisingly almost fainted in front of Aubrey, Basil, and Kel when they were hanging out. It took a while for the group to reconcile after the truth was told, but it turned out okay in the end. Sunny’s Mom even called off the move. It didn’t mean there still weren’t issues present though.
‘’I’ll eat something right now if that’ll ease your worries.’’ Sunny offered quietly as Aubrey loosened her hold on him.
‘’Ooh, I can head over to Gino’s to get some pizza!’’ Kel beamed. ‘’I’ve got my own money for once!’’
Aubrey thought for a second, then nodded. Sunny nodded too. ‘’All right, I’ll be back in a bit!’’
Kel quickly bolted to the door, almost running into the cardboard boxes on the way out.
The two of them were now alone together. It was silent for a moment, then Aubrey spoke up. ‘’Uh, sorry for yelling at you like that…’’
‘’It’s fine. Sometimes when someone is doing something stupid, you have to tell that someone to stop doing the stupid something. Even if it’s in an aggressive way.’’ Sunny said, his both good and bad eyes looked around the room.
‘’Yeah, especially when it’s someone you care about in a certain way.’’ Aubrey added.
‘’What?”
‘’You know what I mean.’’
Sunny did not know what she meant. ‘’I don’t understand.’’ Aubrey face palmed. ‘’Why do you think I just hugged you like that?’’
‘’Because I almost fainted and fell onto the hot sidewalk. I also freaked out Basil.’’
‘’Yes, but there’s something else.’’
Sunny was getting confused with all the somethings, even if he originally started the use.
A little slither in his mind, probably Omori still somewhere, was telling him ‘’She likes you in the way you like her, you fucking idiot’’!
No, no, there’s no way that could be true. Even if she liked in that way him during childhood, the feelings couldn’t have stayed right?
Aubrey then looked slightly frustrated but shifted back to a neutral expression.
‘’Okay, a different example, one less vague. Why do you think I got all close to you on this couch last weekend? Or how I looked at you so much that Kel commented on it?’’ Aubrey whispered, bringing Sunny closer. She looked with into both his normal, and scar covered eyes.
Oh. It seems that small slither was right and was actively saying ‘’SEE! SEE! I TOLD YOU’’!
Sunny’s eyes widened with realization, and he blushed signaling that he now understood to Aubrey.
She giggled at his shy embarrassment, and ruffled his hair.
‘’You know, I’ve always felt a bit weird around you. The good type of weird.’’
Sunny smiled modestly. ‘’The type of weird where you feel fuzzy and warm?’’
Aubrey inched her face closer to his. ‘’Yes.’’
Feeling a bit playful, Aubrey then sandwiched the sides of his face. Sunny laughed softly in response.
Hearing Sunny laugh was rare.
His voice was surprisingly deep despite his short stature, though that would probably change soon if he ate well. Boys were weird with how they grew. Just eat a fuck ton, and now you’re two feet taller in less than a week!
‘’Your face is soft, do you know that?’’
Aubrey teased as she squished his cheeks inwards, making him laugh a bit more.
Damn, this dipshit isn’t even trying and he’s fucking adorable.
Aubrey stopped squishing Sunny’s cheeks, and pressed their foreheads together.
Sunny’s face turned red, and he felt funny. He squirmed a little. He liked the touch, but wasn’t used to it.
Aubrey then started to gently push Sunny down onto the couch. ‘’A-Aubrey…’’ Sunny muttered, putting his arms around her. It was definitely him who was warm and not the couch. They got even closer.
After staring at Sunny’s face for a moment, Aubrey slowly connected her lips with his.
Sunny’s eyelids lazed, and his right leg twitched. They made out for a few minutes, huddled together.
Both really hadn’t kissed anyone before, so it was special for the two of them. A new experience.
For Aubrey, it was a foreign feeling and a welcome one at that. The pink-haired girl lacked closeness in her life. She had drove her past friends away and replaced them when she thought they didn’t care.
She paralleled Sunny in a way.
On the other hand, this feeling was overwhelming for Sunny. After being shutting himself in for four years as punishment, this was too much to take in at once. But, it was a great sensation he didn’t want to run away from.
His heart beat like it could explode any second in his chest. It was taken up a notch when Aubrey’s leg brushed slightly too close to his crotch.
Fucking shit. Who knew a slight touch could cause such excitement? Damn those teenage hormones.
Sunny’s mind was racing hoping she didn’t notice or care.
But then as she parted away from the kiss, Aubrey looked down at the risen tension between his legs.
‘’Woah there, Sunny D!’’ Aubrey commented.
Sunny, several shades redder, tried to say something, but fumbled on his words.
‘’Sunny?’’
‘’I-I..’’
‘’What?’’
Sunny took a breath, then tried to compose himself but failed. These emotions were too intense for him, so he said what he was feeling. ‘’I-I want to go inside y-you.’’ Sunny blurted out. Jesus fuck that’s not how he wanted it to come out. That little slither in his head seemed to be screaming at this point.
Aubrey had little time to react to Sunny’s words, as the door flung open seemingly on cue.
‘’AYO, the pizza’s here! Time to-‘’ Kel paused as he saw Aubrey, mounted over Sunny on the couch.
Both immediately scrambled off the couch. The caught couple stood up straight, and Aubrey began to explain what Kel had seen.
‘’Kel, nothing happened.’’
‘’Oh come on, Aubrey! You two were all over each other!’’
Aubrey blushed.
‘’We were just cuddling!’’
‘’Sure, just cuddling.’’
Kel wasn’t fooled, evident by the sly grin on his face.
‘’Fine, we were kissing a lot! But it wasn’t more than that, okay!’’ Aubrey face was as red as Sunny’s now. Sunny, who hadn’t made an attempt to hide his boner, looked about ready to die.
‘’I’ll leave you two love birds alone to do your thing. I’ll be on the porch.’’ Kel winked at Sunny as he took his share of the pizza. Aubrey glared daggers at him as he made his way out.
Deafening silence once again fell over the two as they ate their pizza.
Sunny had finished eating, and he yawned as he stretched his arms up. He then looked over to Aubrey, who was on the other side of the couch. ‘’So, about what I said earlier…’’ he shakenly spoke up.
‘’We don’t have to d-do it, I was just…’’ Aubrey turned to him. ‘’You were just what?’’
Sunny racked his brain to how he could word this.
‘’I was j-just caught in the m-moment.’’ Sunny curled up into a ball and planted himself right where he was.
Aubrey inched closer to Sunny, and put her hand under his chin to level his face with hers. She then gave him a small peck on the cheek, and pulled him into a hug.
Sunny flinched but soon calmed into the embrace.
The mission to make Sunny eat some food was completed, as Aubrey could feel Sunny’s full stomach push against her. He had actually eaten quite a bit.
After a few minutes of cuddling, Sunny started to mumble, it appeared he had gotten even more sleepy. ‘’You aren’t mad?...’’
‘’Nah. Why would I be?’’ Aubrey whispered as she ruffled his black hair once again. ’’But we won’t… do that for a long time. Maybe until we’re married or something.’’
She waited for Sunny’s reaction to the mention of marriage.
Sunny blinked then yawned once again, and snuggled his head into her shoulder.
‘’Wow, you’re too tired to get flustered about what I just said!’’ Aubrey laughed sheepishly.
Meanwhile outside on the porch Kel had been texting Basil while eating his pizza. The friend group had all recently gotten phones.
Basil: How’s Sunny? (2:00pm)
Kel: good. we got some pizza. i owe hero 20 bucks now tho. (2:15pm)
Basil: That’s great to hear! But why do you owe Hero money? He’s not in town right now is he? (2:17pm)
Kel: me and hero made a bet a long time ago about if whether or not sunny and aubrey liked each other. i found them kissing on the couch. i doubt he remembers tho since it has been a while. it was also most likely a joke but whatever! (2:19pm)
Basil: WHAT!? (2:19pm)
Kel: i know right? who would’ve thought? maybe you can help suuny with picking flowers for aubrey! (2:20pm)
Basil: Yeah, I can help Sunny with flowers I guess. It’s good he’s getting that type of attention. (2:23pm)
Kel: well i have to go now! i have to see what they are up too. bye basil! (2:25pm)
Basil: Goodbye. (2:25pm)
Kel got up and walked into Sunny’s house, wondering what he would see. As he entered the living room, he saw Sunny fast asleep in Aubrey’s arms. At the sight of this, Kel couldn’t help but chuckle a little.
It was nice to see.
Aubrey turned her head to look at Kel. ‘’Shut it.’’ She hushed him. Kel nodded while smiling and decided to leave them alone for real.
As the door shut, Aubrey set her attention back to Sunny. She listened to his tiny snores and felt as his chest went in and out.
It was like a giant house cat had chosen her to take a nap on. It was an honor only given to those worthy and pure of heart. (That last part is false)
With how Sunny was, he might as well be a giant house cat.
Aubrey decided to close her eyes, and join Sunny in his hobby of napping.
What would she do if his mom came home? Who fucking knows? That’s something future Aubrey would have to deal with.
