Chapter Text
On a nice sunny afternoon, 5-year-old Lola was having a delicious sandwich for lunch, made by her mother, a hard-working cook. Lola's father was working on his invention his wife requested him to built is the cook machine 5000, the machine that will cook some meals an easy way for his wife to cook with. In fact, Lola's father is an inventor.
After lunch, Lola pointed to the door, asking her mother if she can play outside the background. The mother nodded her daughter's permission, and Lola ran outside the background of a plain meadow, and began running around the grassy field, playing aviators flying on airplanes. Lola pretended that the big tree was some sort of a tall building, and she was making a plane noise as clear as she could.
Suddenly, at every second Lola was playing, she stopped running, and saw up in the sky is the shining golden fragment or a meteor falling to Earth. Lola gasped shockingly, seeing what she witnessed into the sky, thought it was an asteroid, a meteor, a fragment, or something! Lola letted out a small scream, running away in order to not get hit by the yellow fragment. After some sort of a fragment hit near where the big tree was, Lola fell to the ground. Luckily, Lola did not get herself into unconsciousness, but her pink dress has somewhat got dirty. The little girl then got up, swiping the dirt off her dress and gazed at something on the ground as smoke flow slowly above the it. Lola began walking towards the shining golden fragment. It was glowing like if it was like a jewel. What could that shining golden thing actually is?
Then at a very moment, Lola heard a sound that was like a baby cooing, but the voice was like an echo. Lola looked closer at the fragment, and then saw it moving! Lola gasped lightly like a whisper, shocked to see the fragment moving. Then the fragment got up, opened it's black beady eyes, and looked at the girl. Then Lola realized what that thing was! It was actually a star! Well, it's a star child, because the way it speaks and how small it is. At that very moment, Lola became speechless, not knowing what to say. The star then leaped up into the air, staring at the young girl. The star then waved at Lola excitedly, and Lola did the same, but still speechless.
The star laughed delightfully and flew towards Lola's chest, curling up to her. Lola began to giggle, then helded the star in her hands. Lola smiled at the star and tossed it into the air delightfully and carefully caught it in her arms. Lola then asked who this star is and why it fell to Earth, and where her family is.
The star frowned sadly and, began to explain what happened. The star's name is Luna, and she began explaining everything why she fell to Earth from her mother.
*Flashback*
In outer space, asteroids started to fly pass towards every stars, causing them to get lost and/or killed. Luna, who was being held by her mother were trying to get home to safety like everyone else was, but Luna's mother was weak, cannot carry her star child any longer to get to their home. Luna's mother had no choice but to let Luna go as the star child fell to Earth.
Then at that moment, Luna saw what she witnessed in terror! Luna's mother had got hit by one asteroid! Luna screamed, witnessing her mother's death as she continued to fall to Earth.
*End of flashback*
Lola became really bad and felt sorry for the little star child as she continued to hold her. Luna's eyes starting to well up with tears as she began to cry, mourning for her mother's death, and knowing that she will never see her again. Lola frowned more and hugged the little star tightly to her chest, hushing her and cradling her. Until Luna stopped crying and calmed down, she looked up at the girl. Lola smiled and asked the star if she wanted to be friends. Luna accepted.
Lola giggled delightful and excitedly, and Luna did the same. Lola and Luna had became friends and played together, like tag, hide and seek, aviators flying on airplanes, looking at many stars by the telescope Lola's grandmother had, and everything they did together for weeks. They were meant for each other...
Till evening will arrive soon, Lola and Luna had finished played tag. They decided to sit by the tree and watch the sunset. Lola layed her back and head against the tree, and Luna layed on Lola's belly. Lola wrapped her arms around her star friend, closed her eyes and a gentle sigh escaped her nose. Luna fell asleep in Lola's arms. Lola looked down at the star, thinking and smiled...
She was a really good friend of her little star child. Luna opened her little beady eyes, looking up at the girl as they both watched the sunset together. The sun glowed and shined as it slowly goes down as pink and blue aura spreaded over the sky, turning day into night. That was until Lola's mother called her to come inside. Lola and Luna both looked at where the girl heard her mother from. Lola looked at her star, thinking what her mother would say or react if she told her she befriended a star. Lola became much worried. She feared that her mother will think she's befriended an imaginary friend, or it's all in her imagination. Lola pointed her finger in a direct reaction as if she was a school teacher, requesting Luna to get behind her so her mother doesn't see her. The star child nodded, and flew behind Lola's back as they proceeded to the house.
As Lola arrived, she putted on a nervous smile while walking to her room, trying her best not to let her parents see Luna behind her. Lola's heart pounded a little bit as her parents' were at the dinner table, their brows quirked with confusion, clueless what their daughter had a nervous look for. Lola sighed with a frown and eyes closed. Her parents frowned at her. Lola's father sighed with a smile as the girl looked at him. He walked over from his chair, got down on one knee, caresses his daughter's face with both hands, and planted a kiss on her forehead. Lola smiled at her father, and her mother chuckled, did the same to her as well.
One night at bedtime, Lola was in bed, looking at the sleeping Luna on her right side of the bed. Lola was lucky she didn't let her parents see the star as her friend. But thinked as she looked around the entire room without stuffed toys and animals laying around the place...
Will she ever make a decision to tell her parents about Luna? Will they react if they think she had an imaginary friend? Those thoughts makes Lola's heart beat faster. Lola sighed through her nose and decided to go to sleep, saving her thoughts for tomorrow or another time in days.
One morning, Lola and Luna had started their day by playing outside after breakfast. Lola's father was still working on the cook machine 5000. Lola and Luna are playing aviators flying on airplanes around the big tree, and same games through out the day. Until sunset would arrive soon, Lola and Luna stopped playing around as they saw the big woods. The girls looked at each other, not knowing if they wanted to play out there. Lola feared that if her parents called her in, they will think she's missing. The woods maybe dangerous to play in, but however, Lola smiled at the star, both decided to play hide and seek in the woods. As the girls entered the woods, they began to play hide and seek. The trees are so many, no one could find their find that easily. It'll take forever to find them.
But then... After Lola founded Luna behind the medium sized tree, they both heard a loud explosion like a bomb!
'BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!'
Lola and Luna gasped horrifyingly, and looked at each other scared. They both exited out of the woods quickly to find what causes the explosion. Then Lola and Luna's gasps escaped their throat, horrified what they saw.
Lola's house was on fire! Her mother escaped the burning house, coughing for air, getting smoke out of her lungs and calling out worryingly for her daughter. The firefighters arrived quickly at the house as the two of them brought their hoses from their truck, they turned it on to put out the raging fire. The other two had spoken with Lola's mother, and Lola could not believe what she was hearing! Her heart pounded rapidly in her chest. Luna letted out a small scream, flew and hid behind the big tree so none of the people would see her as she quivered scaredly, waiting her Lola's mother and the firefighters to leave, and Lola tried to call her back, but Luna refused as he wanted her mother and the firefighters to go away. Lola breathed heavily as her chest heaved and her heart pounding.
Then that moment, she learned what the firefighters and her mother as they are having a conversation about what caused the fire to spread over the house. Lola heard her mother explaining to the professionals what happened that her husband's invention, the cook machine 5000 has failed and exploded. And what happened to her father that Lola could not believe she was hearing that he was killed after the explosion!
Lola felt sick to her stomach after what she is hearing from her mother. Tears well up in her eyes. Her mother told the firefighters that she called the ambulance to get her husband, hoping they would save him. Then Lola's mother saw her daughter, standing like a statue, couldn't believe what she's hearing. Lola immediately ran over to her mother, hugging her tightly and cried into the crook of her neck, heartbroken and mourning for the death of her father. Lola's mother picked her daughter up, trying to calm her down. Lola is still mourning for her father's death. Her mother then walked away from the burning house till the firefighters can put out the fire while Lola raised her hand towards the house, not wanting to leave her father as the ambulance arrived and to take her father to the hospital.
Luna peeked her head ajar, looking at her friend's mother walking away with her daughter while holding her. She could hear Lola's cries mourningfully. It breaks Luna's heart as it reminded of her mother's death as hearing Lola's father died in the fire as the two doctors taken him to the hospital and the ambulance left quickly to the hospital before it's too late to save him. Luna frowned even more, feeling bad for Lola's loss of her father and the fire that still raged on.
Days passed after the fire... At the hospital, the two nurses informed to Lola and her mother that they could not even her father. He had passed away completely after the fire. Lola and her mother had said their farewells to Lola's father... It broke their hearts so much... They could not bear this feeling...
The funeral was held as rain started pouring, and the casket was slowly going down to the underground with Lola's father's dead body in it. Lola and her mother stared at the grave of Lola's father. Until night came, Lola and her mother were stranded in the woods, with no home, no place to go, no where to play for Lola, nothing! Not even one place they want to go or stay.
They've lost everything...
They waited for a miracle to find a place to stay, but to no avail. They've lost everything they had. They've lost it all!
Lola felt numb, and she looked at her mother, sitting next to her. Lola leaned against her mother's side, tears flow from her eyes as the girl began crying after losing her father. Her mother sighed with a sad frown as she hugged her daughter to comfort her. Her chin was placed on top of her daughter's head as Lola cried into her mother's chest. Luna flew over to them, feeling alot bad for Lola and her mother.
Luna sighed, and decided to reveal herself to Lola's mother. The star waved at Lola and her mother. When Lola and her mother pulled away, they both gasped after looking at Luna. Especially Lola's mother seeing a real star child. She was shocked, seeing an ACTUAL star child! She thought it was in her imagination! Lola looked at Luna as the star convinced her to tell her mother everything about her and their friendship. Lola nodded at her star friend, and looked up at her mother as they looked at each other. Lola's mother pointed her finger to Luna, asking Lola who this star is and why it came here to Earth. Lola smiled, chuckled a small bit and decided to tell her mother everything about Luna, and how she came to Earth after the asteroids incident and her mother's death and befriended Lola. Lola told her mother she didn't want her to think she's imagining things is she befriended someone imaginary. Luckily, her mother didn't think that as she smiled at her daughter.
Then Lola thought of something... Then asked if Luna can stay with us... Be the part of the family. Lola's mother chuckled, and nodded at Lola's question, letting Luna stay with them. Lola giggled excitedly, ran over to Luna and hugged her tightly. Luna hugged back as she looked at Lola's mother. She giggled at the hug, and she decided to join in as a group hug.
A few days later, Lola and her family has finally found a house to live in! It was big and beautiful! Everyone finished their unpacking everything. Lola got her new stuff, like stuffed animals, a doll house, and her dresses for dress up! She even got others for Luna! Lola's mother even bought a new telescope for looking at stars at night! It was much nicer and bigger. Lola, her mother and Luna all went outside the backyard, where there is a much bigger tree, and they all played together. They played hide and seek, tag, and they rolled around in the grass, filling their joy with laughter and fun.
At night, Lola, her mother and Luna were looking at stars with their telescope after all the fun they had for the day. Lola's mother looked at her daughter and the star child with a smile on her face. They did the same to her. Lola's mother chuckled as the three walked over to the big tree. Lola's mother sat down and layed against the tree. Lola sat on her mother's lap and leaned her head on her chest. Luna flew to Lola's stomach, and the girl held her star close to her, and her mother held them close to her as they watched the starry night sky with billions of stars.
Lola, her mother and Luna thinked and remembered the fun they had today, and their miracles of finding a place to stay came true and befriending Luna after falling to Earth. It's the fun they had together, and they promise to Lola's father that they will keep having the fun as much as possible in their lives. They've always wished he was here with them, and see Luna the star for the first time... He would have fun with them, too. Now, he will be remembered in their memories and their hearts, though Luna never got a chance to meet him yet.
After all, Lola and Luna's friendship will be in their hearts. Their friendship means to them. They will always be friends together till their time will grow... They will never be or grow apart... No matter what their lives are...
...Lola and Luna are friends for as long as they will be... Forever...
