Work Text:

Lace was over again, not for a project. Even though the project should be completed at some point it was yet to be even thought about.

The two girls were sitting together in the kitchen, Lace was up on the counter with Hornet making some food. Hornet was wearing a soft shirt and sweatpants. Lace had on a black undershirt, leggings with knee high white boots and white overall shorts. She looked amazingly beautiful to Hornet.

Lace was coming over more often than not, Hornet couldn’t blame her. Her parents were….weird. Plus Hornet couldn’t deny the soft moments the two of them shared between one another. The soft kisses shared between the two that would never breath air past this home.

Hornet was beginning to settle in this house, Lace was a big help in that. She heard shuffling before two taps of feet meeting the floor before soft clothes met her sides, wrapping around her waist. A chin rested on her shoulder as Hornet was pouring batter into small rubber cupcake wrappers.

“Yes?” She snuck a glance at the girl that was currently making her movement more limited before her gaze focused back on the muffins she was making, two other hands coming up to rest on top of the two gloved hands around her waist.

“Mhn…” Was the only response she got this time, her head turned to nuzzle into her shoulder softly.

“Lace, I need to move to turn on the oven.”

The arms only wrapped tigher around her and Hornet let out a groan. She could feel the smile on the others face. Lace hugged her tighter and nuzzled deeper into her shoulder.

Hornet set down the bowl of batter and moved her hand and upper body to press the bake button on the oven. It let out a loud beep. Hornet pushed the temperature up button until it got to the correct temperature. She pressed start and looked to the smug moth holding onto her.

Hornet found out the other was a moth by complete accident. She also figured out that Lace was adopted during one night she spent the night, holding onto Hornet like she was the only thing that mattered.

Every day she learned something new about the other girl, and it only made her want to take her far away from here.

She giggled softly and gently nuzzled Lace’s cheek. A soft smile played across her lips.

“Okay now you have to let go. I need to put them in the oven, then we can go and watch some movie or play a game until the muffins are done okay?”

Lace hummed softly, sadly slipping away from the spider. She let out a yawn and stretched her arms up,”Fine, fine. You win little spider.” She let one eye open as glee seemed to shine in her eye.

Hornet was taller then Lace. She always had been. Hornet didn’t respond until she slipped the muffins into the over and set the timer.

She turned around and walked up to the moth, standing just a few inches above the moth. “Oh I’m the little one now?” She tilted her head, and just like normal Lace hadn’t backed down.

“Of course you are! I’m older, therefore I am bigger between the two of us~”

Hornet burst out laughing as she stepped away, catching her breath before letting out a soft,”If that’s what helps you sleep at night.”

No they weren’t dating, Lace seemed to be rather against putting a term to the relationship they had. They were just friends. Just friends.

Hornet took some deep breaths, looking at Lace’s lightly flushed cheeks and a soft smile overcame her grin. Hornet would wait as long as it took for Lace to be comfortable. She didn’t mind. She would love her all the same.

Notes:

I wanted to write something cute! They're making blueberry muffins! Lacenet is a huge comfort ship and I needed something to warmup with!
