Summary
Sam’s hand hung in the air, suspended mid-reach. He could only stare. Lyle's eyes—one of the few features still visible beneath the heavy shadow of his cloak—were wide, glassy, almost wild. Despite being taller than Sam, he seemed to shrink into himself, small and cornered. Like a wounded animal.
Well… maybe not an animal. But wounded, absolutely. Sam's gaze dropped to the blood blooming across the fabric Lyle clutched tighter and tighter around himself. How did they even get here?
It was supposed to be a routine supply run. Nothing dramatic. They hadn’t even brought anyone else along, because it was meant to be quick.
Pick up some stuff from Eugene. Grab a few things from Lyle’s apartment. Deliver a love letter.
Watch the act of a good (Sam)aritan turn horribly, horribly wrong. -
Through Their Lens: Cultural Intimacies and Daily Life Among the Shutterbugs of Caligo by Lis0wl

Summary
The Shutterbugs have long fascinated xenobiologists and sociocultural researchers for their biomechanical adaptations, especially their intrinsic photographic abilities. Yet even more remarkable than their biology is what they have built from it: a society that reveres memory as if it were sacred, and treats the act of seeing—and being seen—as both art and legacy.
This paper is not exhaustive. No outsider’s account ever truly is. But it is honest, and—like the Shutterbugs themselves—it aims to preserve what it has witnessed, frame by frame.

Summary
This paper documents the physiological and behavioral attributes of a unique post-human lineage, colloquially referred to as “Shutterbugs.” Descended from Homo sapiens who survived direct exposure to the trans-dimensional entity known as the Visitor, these beings represent a biomechanical clade whose form and function are integrally tied to the photographic apparatus once external to their ancestors.

"The worry lingered, gnawing at them from within. And the fact that this unease stung him especially hard when Revi-tal excitedly hugged them when Prophecy returned did not make it any easier. It was quiet.
Quiet like before a storm.

Summary
When the Visitor arrived on Earth, many believed it was the end of everything. Flesh and soul were reshaped into forms never seen before. Structures crumbled, civilization collapsed, and humanity was swept into an altered reality—one that could never return to what was once called "normal."
...
At least, that’s how it felt back then.
But 4000 years later? The Visit is just another point in history—monumental, yes, but ancient.
Life moves on. It adapts to new limbs, grows comfortable with multitudes of eyes, and brings forth generations who know no other way of being. Society is reborn from the ashes, intertwined with the new world. Some changes fade, incompatible with life. Others thrive, evolving into entirely new races, cultures, and histories. And when Mother Planet Earth can no longer hold all of them, her children reach for the stars.
Join us as we explore this vibrant, ever-evolving world—thousands of years after the Post-Denial Ending of the original game—through the lives of those who now call this strange future "normal".
