Work Text:
Day 3 – March 28th, Sunday
Bits and pieces of cloth litter their bedroom floor as Oikawa rummages through their shared closet. Today was date night, and he and Hajime had agreed to stargaze over their apartment building’s roof deck.
He was excited, of course, but right now he was just irritated. He couldn’t seem to find their big fluffy, comfortable blanket, which would have been perfect considering the fact that the roof was open and the floor was cold. The only other option he had was a flimsy excuse of a picnic rug.
Iwaizumi was in their kitchen, preparing the snacks they’d bring up there. Recently, his Iwa-chan was a bit weird.
It had started two days ago, where he offhandedly commented that Iwaizumi didn’t do romantic things like writing cute notes for him. And later that same day, suddenly, Iwa-chan did just that. Write cute, romantic notes for him. It was endlessly endearing, but weird nonetheless.
Not that he didn’t appreciate him per se, in fact, he’s loving every minute since that day because Hajime was really being so romantic that his heart couldn’t help but do all sorts of beating in his chest. It was just weird.
The dynamic of their relationship was where Oikawa was the showier affectionate one, and Iwaizumi was the silent affectionate one. Tooru was the one who loved shoving romantic couple things in his face. Loved getting a grumbling but supportive Hajime every time he did so.
And Hajime was the one who loved showing just how much he appreciated Tooru through physical touch. Sure, PDA was still PDA, but grand gestures of love were all Tooru’s thing. And now that Hajime’s the one doing it… He’s just so absolutely endeared and soft and in love with him all over again.
Just as his musings stop, Hajime enters the room with a basket in hand. “You still haven’t found it yet?” Disapproving tone nicks at Tooru. Iwaizumi settles the basket on their bed, grabbing the thrown pillowcases, cloth, and sheets thrown all over the floor.
“It’s gone! I swore I put it in here the last time we used it, and now it’s just gone! Maybe it went to another dimension or something.” He grumbles, shoving back another bedsheet into the closet.
“The only other option we have is the first-ever blanket we bought from that thrift shop,” Tooru says disdainfully, and he sees Hajime cringe at that, sympathetically agreeing.
“Well, did you get it from the laundry shop?” Hajime asks a hint of emotion in the tone quietly pleading please say you did.
Tooru just opens his mouth at that, the vague recollection coming unbidden in his mind. “Oh. Yeah. The laundry shop… Oops?” He raises a peace sign and lets his tongue out, attempting to get away with his cuteness.
Hajime just sighs at him, clearly powerless, and decides that the blanket was better than nothing. Tooru folds the blanket over his arms, and stands up, patting away dust from his legs. Hajime closes the closet and picks up the basket.
Tooru tries to catch a glimpse inside, but Hajime just steers him to his other side. Oikawa pouts at him but lets it be.
They reach the roof in moments, settling near a wall decorated with string lights. No one else was at the roof at this time, so they settled in the blanket as comfortably as they could. They speak about everything and nothing, letting their body warmth comfort the other.
When words slowly die down and a comfortable silence settles upon them, Tooru feels the weighted stare of his lover. He didn’t mind it, at the start, but he could feel it more the longer it happened.
It was starting to unnerve him, self-consciousness acting up. He turns to face Hajime, letting their eyes meet, and silently sucks in a breath. Hajime’s face was so soft. His eyes were telling Tooru so many things, so many silent declarations of adoration.
“What? Why do you keep staring?” he questions Hajime.
He sees Hajime raise a brow, a sparkle of mischief entering his eyes. “Who said I was?”
“You were literally just staring at me?” He huffs out indignant, a finger softly jabbing into Hajime’s chest. Iwaizumi tried to catch the limb, but Oikawa evades the grabby hand successfully.
“Nuh-uh, you saw wrong, Shittykawa.” The familiar teasing name puts a scowl on his face, and immediately Tooru tries to defend himself “We literally met eyes!” But Hajime’s shit-eating grin just grows wider.
“Maybe you’re the one who was staring at me, ‘Kawa.” The guy teases. Oikawa just lets his tongue out at him and grumbles a small did not, and promptly swats at Hajime’s arms. He sees the way Hajime chuckles at that, eyes crinkling in fond adoration.
Then out of nowhere, Hajime says “Hey, do me a favor and pass me some of the cookies in the basket.” And settles into a comfortable position in front of him. Oikawa scrunches his nose at that but does it anyway.
“Hmph, because I’m such a good and wonderful boyfriend, I will graciously get you a half-eaten cookie.” Tooru’s actually excited for the cookies Hajime had prepared. His lover had a godly talent when it came to the kitchen that he didn't. He moves to sit up and drags the basket over for easier access.
But the sight that greets him when he opens the lid was not cookies, but a blue note and a variegated tulip. The sight prompts Tooru to remember the previous notes Hajime had given him.
The very first note Hajime had given him two days ago was what greeted him right after he came through the doors to their apartment. It sat quietly but demandingly in the ceramic key holder, enough for him to be absolutely curious to open it up.
His eyes had scanned the clear all-caps handwriting of his lover;
The feeling of your hair on my hands is something I cherish deeply.
He grinned then, eyes coming alight at the thought that Hajime was actually giving him such a cute romantic note. He couldn’t believe Hajime would actually do it, and he was ecstatic.
So ecstatic that he threw himself over his boyfriend's back situated on the couch.
The second note was immediately at the beginning of the next day. Just as he woke up to find an empty bed and the delicious waft of breakfast in their room. He had called out to Hajime, and let the man carry him over to the dining area, where the blue note and a piece of freshly picked Himawari lay. Oikawa himself loved knowing the various language of flowers and had known that one of its meanings was adoration.
The way your dog nose scrunches up as I cook for you never fails to make me smile.
It was a cute and short note that immediately made him all bubbly inside.
And now, here on the rooftop of their apartment, the basket shows him the striking color patterns of a variegated tulip illuminated by the soft yellow lights behind them and the third blue note from Hajime. He rummages through the basket for safe measure in case other flowers were in there, but all that remained were cookies and brownies.
He takes the flower in his hands, and a cookie (which he bites) and turns back to see a smirking Hajime. He makes a face at him, opening and reading it.
Did you know that your eyes hold so much of the universe? They never fail to light up my world.
Slowly, he realizes that Hajime’s words were starting to turn deeper. It was as if Hajime was letting him glimpse into his thoughts, letting him understand just how much he meant to Hajime. It was starting to make him all emotional. What Hajime didn’t know was that it was he who made Tooru’s eyes light up, it was he who made Tooru happy enough to forget about all the things that made him doubt.
He just sniffles out a “What the hell, Hajime, now I feel bad for eating half your cookie.” His eyes meet Hajime’s, hoping that Hajime sees how much Tooru loves him.
He is just greeted by open arms, a silent invitation, and a “Make it up to me then.” Before he tackles into Hajime’s body.
He shoves the half-eaten cookie in Hajime’s mouth, which makes Hajime smile, and proceeds to shower said man with affection by smothering his face with kisses.
“You’re killing me with these notes, baby. I’m about to melt into a puddle.” Tooru burrows into Hajime once more, landing one last silent kiss at the side of his neck.
But Hajime had the audacity to squish him into his body, almost making Tooru lose all breath and declaring “Then melt. Perish in my arms. You shall be missed.”
Tooru could only gasp out a “Noooo, brute unhand me!” before he was assaulted with endless tickles that took all breath from him.
Day 4 – March 29th, Monday.
Tooru had gone out today to his coaching job over at a local college. His job needed him to be in school till half-past 5, and now he was just getting ready to leave, having one last look at the cleaners left in the school gym. He had retired from playing in the volleyball career and moved back to Japan with Hajime, but the love for the sport never diminished. So, he took on a job that would still bring him close to one of the things he loves the most. This way he was also able to properly guide the kids into volleyball.
Hajime had his own sports trainer job at the gym, no longer the sports trainer for the Japanese national team. His clients loved him, and Hajime was happy he could help others in preventing injury.
“Oikawa-sensei!” One of his taller players had approached with a decent-sized paper bag.
“Kagami-chan, do you have any problems?”
“Nah, not really, but I do need to take something off my hands,” Oikawa raises his brows curiously at that, “You told us your ‘Iwa-chan’ loved Godzilla merch, right? Well, I just got one yesterday, but it was completely by accident, and I don’t really know anyone else who would be fascinated enough with this thing.” The boy explains, Oikawa’s eyes alight at that, and gestures for it to be handed over immediately.
“I can definitely help you with that, Kagami-chan.” He looks inside the bag that was handed over and delights in the stuffed plushie sitting silently inside. “Oh, Iwa-chan’ll definitely be happy with this. Good going, my dear student, knew you had a soft spot for me somewhere.” He grins, and ruffles the tall boy’s hair, and gets a disgruntled ‘you wish’ in return.
He leaves the college grounds and fights his way through the rush of people inside trains. He reaches their shared apartment by 6, all excited to give Iwa-chan his gift. He rushes inside and leaves his things by the door because he knows Hajime’s already home and heads on over to the couch to give him a big smooch.
“Iwa-chan, Iwa-chan, you won't believe what I got, you’ll love it, I swear you will!” He clambers excitedly onto Hajime’s lap, giving a big smooch to Hajime's forehead.
“Woah, calm down Tooru, speak human ok?” Tooru feels the big palms situating themselves on his waist, anchoring him lest he falls over in his excitement. His thought process stops at Hajime’s words, and excitement for another thing rushes through him.
“Why?? Do I not sound human to you? I knew I had Alien blood in me!” He almost shivers at the slow climb of fingers on his spine but was completely unprepared for the non-too gentle slap on the back of his head. He yelps, and grumbles into Hajime’s shoulder, thinking about retaliating with a bite.
Hajime’s words interrupt him though, “No, dumbass, you were speaking too fast. Also, get off, You’re still sweating, go and take a bath, I swear if you catch a cold…” Hajime’s aggressive caring just sent tingles into his spine, reminding him just how aggressively caring Hajime could be in bed.
“I won’t, I won’t! I promise I’ll take a bath, just, you need to see this, it’ll definitely make you happy!” Oikawa then gets off Hajime’s lap to go back to the entrance where the crumpled paper bag lay. He takes out the Godzilla plushie and returns in speed time back to Hajime.
Oikawa sees Hajime’s eyes zero in on the object in his hands. His face morphs into a smile, and grabby hands gesture to Oikawa. Oikawa just grins and says “See! I told you you’d like this!”
Hajime’s happy grunt could be heard as he says “Give it here, ‘Kawa, hurry.” Oikawa follows because he loves seeing his Hajime all happy like this. He once again sits in Hajime’s lap, one strong arm subconsciously circling his waist, and the other grabbing onto the grey plushie.
“Where’d you get this??” Sparkling green eyes meet his own, and Tooru bites back a smile.
“One of my students was planning to throw it away, said he got it at an arcade recently, and he knew you liked Godzilla merch so he graciously told me to take it.”
“Wait, how does he know I like this?” A cute confused scrunch of the nose makes Oikawa want to pinch Hajime’s cheeks.
“Oh, I talk about you every day. All my students probably know what food you like by now.” He beams at Hajime, completely serious. Tooru sees him open his mouth as if to retort, but effectively closes it anyways and doesn’t comment. And then Hajime just stares at him again. Eyes gazing fondly at Tooru, if he could describe how Hajime looked at him right now, the term ‘heart eyes’ would be perfect.
“What? You’re being weird recently, Haji, why do you keep staring anyways?” He pushes at Hajime’s jaw to disrupt his blatant staring.
“Nothing. Go take a bath, you smell.” Tooru gets pushed off by Hajime, and he comes to a stand. He rests one hand on his hip and retorts with a wink, “I do not! And even if I did, you like the smell of my sweat anyways” and goes on to the bathroom, not forgetting to have some flair as he walks off.
Tooru grabs a set of clothes before coming inside the bathroom, he makes sure to turn his playlist on and the first soft slow notes of Frank’s I love you baby started playing.
He starts to sing along, of course.
“You’re just too good to be true, can’t take my eyes off of you…”
“You be like heaven to touch, I wanna hold you so much…”
“I LOOOOVE YOUUU BABYYYY AND IF IT’S QUITE ALRIGHT I NEED YOUUU BABYYYY…”
A few minutes later he stops the flow of water, and a blue note and a yellow tulip meet his eyes. His thoughts briefly stop as he realizes Hajime had probably heard him shouting in the bathroom, but shrugs it off since it's not as if Hajime hasn’t heard him shout anyways.
He walks toward the mirror where the two things were stuck unto while toweling his hair. He gently pries it off the mirror and twirls the yellow tulip, the meaning of it makes him grin.
He returns to his place on Hajime’s lap, still fiddling with the flower, and decides to put it on Hajime because his smile has the whole fucking sun in it.
He finally opens the note, and the lines Hajime wrote this time were simple enough yet still had the effect of making him so high above the clouds.
Your smile is something I want to see every day.
He leans into Hajime and softly whispers “Me too,” he caresses the side of his cheek tenderly and continues “Everyday Hajime, forever.” and kisses him. Oikawa hopes that Iwaizumi catches all the love and affection he houses just for him.
Day 5 – March 30th, Tuesday.
Oikawa’s sleep did not go well.
Maybe it was because a lot of things were going well recently, and he’s been feeling straight-up ecstatic for the past three consecutive days, but he had dreamt that Iwaizumi had left him. Not because he found another to love, but because dream Iwaizumi had realized that he deserved better.
He woke up in cold sweat, hands gripping tight to Hajime. It was pure luck that Hajime was a deep sleeper.
It wasn’t that he doubted Hajime’s love for him. At most, he knows just how much Hajime would never break his heart like that. It’s just that Tooru wishes his brain understands that. The self-doubt on his worth has long been a work in progress, and the hardest part about it was that it hits in such sudden moments that Tooru is left completely unguarded.
He lays awake till the small strands of sunlight filtered in through their window. Then he watches Hajime wake up, eyes blinking blearily, taking a moment to come back into the world of the conscious.
Tooru knows that Hajime knows that something was wrong. Hajime’s sharp like that, when it comes to him. Always so caring.
He leaves the house in a somber mood. Hajime texts him the whole day, a few ‘heys’ and ‘did you eat?’ and even some funny videos from the net. He texts him the usual stuff, lets Tooru feel the comfort of normalcy, and that stabilizes him somewhat.
Their night is filled with passion, some way or other, it seemed as if Hajime wanted to remind him just how much he appreciates Tooru. Not just his body, but for him, as a person. Him, the one who grew up alongside Hajime. Him, who’s Hajime’s partner, no matter what.
And the thought of that brings him to tears.
Hajime shuffles close to him, arms encasing him, a strong hand rubbing soothing motions on his back.
“What’s wrong?” he asks, and Tooru wants to say everything. Everything, and nothing, because it’s all in his brain. And he loves Hajime so so much, loved him all his life, and he wants to give him every single fucking thing because Hajime deserved the world and more.
“I don’t deserve you.” is what he replies. He feels a slight tinge of guilt because he knows his self-doubt also hurts Hajime in some way. There is a soft exhale before Hajime’s arms hold him tighter.
“You do. We both do. There was never a time that we didn’t, and it will never come.”
Tooru hears the certainty, the sureness of it, and it settles something deep inside of him. He burrows further into Hajime’s touch, gripping for all he was worth.
He doesn’t know how long they stayed in that position, but when Hajime shifted to get out of bed, he knew he was going to be alright.
“Wait here, baby,” Hajime whispers into his forehead, dropping a kiss.
Iwaizumi returns with a damp washcloth, doing such good aftercare that it leaves Tooru all warm, then leaves again. He comes back, and in his hand is one of the blue notes he was getting thoroughly familiar with these days. Hajime scoops his sheet cocooned body into his arms once more, and Tooru catches one of Hajime's palms to kiss it. He tangles his other hand in Hajime's own and waits for the note to be dropped into his hands.
As he reads the note, hands subconsciously caressing the soft texture, Hajime pulls their entwined hands up and returns the kiss to his hand.
If you’ll let me, I’ll catch every tear you’ll cry for the rest of our lives. Be it happy, or sad ones, I’d be right there with you.
He chuckles at that, happiness settling. “Hajime, you don’t have to ask. I won’t have it any other way.”
He hears Hajime laugh with him, a soft “Me too.” before his cheek becomes a landing point for all of Hajime’s kisses.
Day 6 – March 31st, Wednesday.
Tooru woke up at 7 with an Iwa-chan who was still asleep. A rare moment, but he’s glad of Iwa’s relaxed face greeting him first thing in the morning. He gets up to make some toast for Iwaizumi to snack on before falling back asleep and readies himself to go to the college.
At lunch, he busies himself chatting with Iwa. His food was just a store-bought bento that held no competition for Iwa-chan’s lovely homemade ones.
His phone pings again and a new message from Iwaizumi appears.
Hajime, 3 seconds ago: Did you take my pudding?
Tooru, 2 seconds ago: What pudding? ٩(◕‿◕。)۶
Hajime, 2 seconds ago: My pudding!
Tooru, 3 seconds ago: I don’t know what you’re talking about. ┐( ̄~ ̄)┌
Hajime, 1 minute ago: You little—I know you did, that’s it, I’m eating your stock of milkbread. (°ㅂ°╬)
Tooru, 3 seconds ago: NO! Iwa-chaaaaaaan, but you already ate two of these!! You didn’t even ask me if I wanted some! 。・゚゚*(>д<)*゚゚・。
Hajime, 2 seconds ago: Dumbass, you didn’t tell me you wanted some! I asked you when I bought them and you said: “No, I’m trying a new diet”!
Tooru, 1 second ago: Well, maybe I changed my mind! Come oooooon, You know I love sweet things, please?
Tooru, 1 second ago: Forgive me, okay?
Tooru, 1 second ago: I’ll buy you some yakisoba pan on the way home, okay?
Tooru, 1 second ago: Okay?
Tooru, 1 second ago: Don’t eat my milkbread, Hajiiiiii (。•́︿•̀。)
Hajime: typing
Hajime, 1 second ago: Fine. You better make it up to me, you should’ve just told me you wanted some, I’d give in to you anyways, dumbass.
Tooru puffs out a laugh at that.
Tooru, 1 second ago: Yeah, I know, sorry baby, I’ll do that next time. Teehee, Love you! Gotta go though, my break’s almost ending. (◕‿◕)♡
Hajime, 1 second ago: Love you too, take care.
Oikawa puts his phone down after that and finishes the now-cold bento. The rest of the day was uneventful and the moment he steps out of the college, he dashes to the good bakery he knows was just around the corner. He buys ice cream and karaage too because he and Hajime loved this store.
The moment he comes home, he runs into Hajime who was idling on the kitchen counter. He clings to him, completely immovable. He mumbles out apologies, alternating between forgive me pecks and clinging onto him tighter.
“Such a child, come on, let’s eat these already.”
Oikawa didn’t want to move, so he doesn’t. Hajime huffed at that and promptly picks him up. He walks them to the couch, where he takes the plastic still hanging off Tooru’s arm, and puts it on their small round coffee table, and plops himself on the seat taking Tooru with him.
“We’re not eating at the dining table?” Not that Tooru minded where they ate at all.
“You won’t even let go of me, how can we? That ancient chair won’t hold us both up.” Hajime rolls his eyes at him, then pinches his waist. The reaction jolts him and he swats the offending limb.
“Ah! Stop that, I’m ticklish,” Their hands continue to fight as Tooru continues, “anyways, we need a stronger chair.”
“No, we don’t”
“Yes, we do.”
“No.”
“Yes. Don’t you wanna try that thing we saw online?” He asks Hajime, moving his brows in a wiggling manner. Hajime finally gets hold of his hands and stops the flailing limbs to a still.
“Yes, we do. Ok, let’s go chair looking on Sunday.” The immediate response amuses Tooru. “Go get some water from the fridge first, before we eat.”
The suggestion makes Tooru cling right back to Hajime, arms tightly encircling themselves on his back, and whining out a small no.
“Come on, big baby, weren’t you trying to make it up to me?” Amusement laces Hajime’s voice, and Tooru just grumbles back he was making it up to him with all his love and affection. Tooru stands up anyways because he does still want to make it up to Hajime.
But a sudden slap on his ass, and “Such a good baby.” Makes him turn back, scandalized, “Hajime!” His eyes twinkle at Hajime though, and he is off to fetch their drinks.
His mission of drink-fetching is halted as the moment he opens the fridge, a blue note demands his attention. He forgets the drink entirely and returns back to Iwa. After reading that, all he wanted to do was shower his Iwa-chan with more love and affection. So he does.
“Okay. I love you too. I love you so so so so much.” He drops a kiss at every so, making sure all his love is transferred into the kiss. Hajime pushes his face away though and puts a karaage into his mouth, which Tooru munches on happily.
You’re such a little piece of shit sometimes, but I love you anyway. Stop stealing my food already and just share them with me, forever.
Day 7, Last day – April 1st, Thursday.
Tooru wakes up well-rested. He stretches out the kinks in his bones, his arm lying flat over Hajime’s side of the bed. Hajime was probably making breakfast if the tell-tale scent of eggs was something to go by.
He opens his eyes blearily, letting himself adjust to the light before something in his hand twinkles at him. He pulls said limb closer for inspection, and wide eyes stare unblinkingly on the beautiful silver band on his ring finger.
His eyes water, pulling it off just to make sure it wasn’t a figment of his imagination, and he notices the small detail inside the ring. On the inner side of the band, was an engraved 'my life'. The image makes his tears fall down, and he puts the ring right back onto his finger. It was truly a perfect fit.
Oikawa was about to get out of bed when another thing snags his attention. A cute bouquet of desert bluebells lay innocently on top of Hajime’s pillow. Desert bluebells. Signifying gratitude and everlasting love.
The sight makes him cry more because he knew what Hajime was implying.
Thank you for staying. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for loving yourself. Thank you for loving me.
Hajime wasn’t only saying all those thanks, but he was also saying that no matter what, he’ll love Tooru, always. No matter what. Even if you don’t choose me today. And Hajime’s so stupid, really.
Tooru picks up the familiar blue note.
In it, five simple words:
I love you. Marry me?
Hajime’s so stupid because what other answer is there for Tooru? What other answer was there when hidden deep in his closet drawer was an almost identical silver band, engraved with a Mi Corazon on the inside?
Hajime was just faster. Always one step ahead of him. He gently places the bouquet back into his side of the bed, noting to himself to put them in a vase later on. Then he hurries out of the room, every second apart from Hajime was something he wanted to lessen as of the moment.
He spots the broad back and strong arms putting eggs into a plate, and slams himself onto Hajime’s back. The man grunts, but holds the arms encircling him anyways. Tooru feels a fresh bout of tears coming through, and he feels the moment Hajime feels the tears, the way his body stiffens, and gods Hajime was such an idiot.
“Yes.” He breathes out.
“Yes. Yes yes yes yes, Hajime, yes. I love you, gods, yes.” Oikawa peppers kisses onto the smaller male’s back. But he is thrown off when Hajime finally turns to him, eyes so so bright, so so wonderful, it makes Tooru all giddy and teary all over again. He is picked up into the air and kissed so fiercely he feels their teeth bump. But Tooru doesn’t care. He kisses back, just as hard because, fuck, he loves this man, he wants him to take his name. or for he to take Hajime's name. Any really.
He just wants to be in a family with Hajime that is legally seen by the law.
Fuck. I love him so goddamned much.
He hears small I love you’s come from Hajime’s lips, and it breathes into his soul. Breaking and remaking him. Their eyes met in the fervent euphoria, so much happiness, so much contentedness speaks back to Tooru’s eyes.
“Haji, Haji baby, I love you so so much, baby, wear my ring?” He blurts out. Hajime, still alight with happiness, is momentarily confused at that before the realization dawns in.
“you—Your ring—were you gonna—”
“Yes, my idiot, I was going to propose” He laugh cries into his neck.
“Yeah,” Hajime breathes out. "Yes." It seemed as if he was too shocked at the events that his mind just deemed it a nice time to shut off.
Oikawa just laughs at that and comes down from his perch on Hajime’s waist. He goes back to their room, digs through the layers of clothes, and fishes out the velvet box. He grabs the bluebells too. He returns to the sight of a Hajime spacing out on their kitchen.
Tooru walks to him with purpose, maintaining eye contact with Hajime every step of the way. He probably looked a mess, eyes puffy, hair messy, face unwashed, but the blush on Hajime’s face gives him every confidence to drop down to one knee.
He presents both the flowers and the ring to the man who completes him. To the man who believed, and still believes in him. To the man ready to spend his whole life by Tooru’s side.
“Iwaizumi Hajime, I love you. Marry me?” It was Hajime’s turn to cry now, and his face is split by the grin he’s sporting as he replies.
“You’re so unoriginal, those were my flowers and line.” He chokes out, before tackling Tooru, “Dumbass, of course, I will.”
Tooru readily catches him, caging him into his arms, soothing the sobbing man, and leaving a trail of kisses in his temple. “Well, you gave me such a great idea, who was I not to follow?” Tooru chuckles back.
“Such a dumbass” Hajime just grips him tighter.
“Your dumbass”
“Yeah. My dumbass.” Hajime sniffles.
Tooru leans back first, taking Hajime’s hands into his, and slipping the ring. A perfect fit. Oikawa meets Hajime’s eyes once more, “Mi Corazon, I love you.”
Hajime surges to kiss him once more.
