Chapter Text
The loud banging sound the gun made was loud enough to deafen Katsuki. A sharp gasp escaped his throat, and he threw his hand over his chest. Loads of scarlet blood started leaking from his gut, dripping to the ground.
Another deafening gunshot. More of the crimson blood. With the third bullet jamming through his body, a pained scream ripped from his itching throat.
Aizawa-sensei, his teacher, heard the blood-curdling scream, and rushed over to the scene. Aizawa’s red eyes widened, a painful gasp coming from himself, and he ran over to Katsuki’s injured body as fast as he could.
Katsuki collapsed to the floor in pain, and another gunshot was sent to his abdomen for a second time.
“Bakugo!” Aizawa cried out, kneeling down next to his body. “Bakugo…” Tears swam and swirled in Aizawa’s eyes, but he blinked them away, afraid to let his student know that he...wasn’t going to make it.
“S-sensei..?” Katsuki choked out, coughing up some of the tangy blood that was stuck in his throat.
“Problem child two…” He sighed, picking Katsuki up carefully in his arms. “I promise, that you’ll be having a great time up in the sky..watching Pr- Midoriya and everyone become great heroes for you...” Aizawa bit his lip, and Katsuki’s eyes immediately widened once he got the message.
Aizawa winced at the shocked and pained expression on Katsuki’s usually angry and playful face.
A sharp sob escaped Katsuki’s throat, and he shoved his face in his teachers chest.
“I don’t want to die! I want to be the number one hero a-and..” Katsuki let out another gut-wrenching sob, followed by a few more.
Aizawa rubbed his students back, trying to comfort him in his last moments. “Yeah..?” He whispered, running his hands through Katsuki’s spiky hair. “Is there anything else you want to do…?” Aizawa asked shakily, trying to stay strong for his student.
“I...wanted to surpass all might...and show everyone that I’m not weak, I guess…” Katsuki said weakly, and winced in pain. “Owh….” Crystal tears were freely running down Katsuki’s pale face, a small whine escaped his mouth.
“K-katsuki...if you’re in pain, I want you to know that you can go now, okay?” Aizawa whispered, feeling Katsuki’s shallow breaths through his shirt.
“I-I don’t want to go, ‘Zawa…” Katsuki whined, clenching onto his teacher’s black shirt. “I-I’m n-not w-weak..”
“Katsuki...if you go, it’s okay. It’s not weak..I just don’t want you going through the pain, okay? You can go now…” Aizawa let out a shaky breath, hearing the ambulances sirens blaring through the silent night.
“S-so I c-can go now?” Katsuki whined, biting his lip in worry. He didn’t want to leave his friends..”I’m not a hero though..I wanted t-to die a hero..” He sobbed.
“Katsuki, hey, shh….you’re a hero in my eyes, and you’ll always be remembered as one. Remember that, okay?” Aizawa calmly rubbed Katsuki’s back, trying to distract him from the pain of the gunshot wounds.
“I…” Katsuki gulped. “I think I’m gonna go now, okay?” Katsuki looked into his teacher’s eyes, biting his lip again.
“That’s okay, Katsuki, you can go now, it’s alright…” Aizawa whispered, calmly rubbing his back.
“Thank you..., ‘Zawa…” Katsuki whispered, closing his eyes slowly.
His eyes would close, and shoot open 5 seconds later. Aizawa had tears rolling down his cheeks, seeing his student afraid to die. Katsuki closed his eyes once again, letting go, and they shot open again. Katsuki was letting himself die, but he was afraid, and he came back to life again.
“I-I’m here, I’m-” Katsuki sobbed, his crimson eyes full of pain and fear. He was scared.
“What are you waiting for, Katsuki? Is there something you need first..?” The damn ambulances were full, and the bullets were full of poison...normally the person would be dead by now. Katsuki wouldn’t make it either way.
“K-kiri…” He whispered.
“Do you want me to get Kirishima for you, so you can go peacefully…?” Aizawa whispered, running his fingers through Katsuki’s hair again.
“Y-yes…” Katsuki choked out, passing out, and jolting awake again. “I-I’m here, I’m here-” He started to sob again.
Aizawa quickly pulled out Katsuki’s phone and swiped it open, clicking on the contacts he clicked Kirishima. Er- under the phone it was saved “Shitty hair” But Aizawa got the picture.
The phone rang for a second, and as soon as Kirishima picked up he heard Katsuki say “I-I’m here” and sob again.
“Hello…?” Kirishima asked, concerned.
“Hello, Kirishima. Are you here at the mission, or are you at the dorms?” Aizawa asked, rocking Katsuki back and forth carefully. With all the blood Katsuki had lost, Aizawa was more than shocked Katsuki was still alive. Katsuki died again, and jolted back awake.
“Uwagg!!” He cried. “I-I’m here, I p-promise! K-kirishima-” He sobbed some more.
“I-I’m at the lake, near the mission, actually, and is this Aizawa..?” Kirishima asked, worried in his tone.
“Yes, this is. Katsuki got into a fight with a villain...and he wants you here for his last moments. He’s staying awake for you right now…” He informed Kirishima, who was already on his way after hearing the second sentence.
“What does he mean by, “I’m here”, Aizawa sensei?” Kirishima choked out. It was obvious he was running by his gasps for air.
“He keeps dying, but since he’s waiting for you he keeps awakening. He’s letting me know he’s here with us…” Aizawa looked at Katsuki, who was still ‘sleeping’ for a while now. “Oh shit, Katsuki?” Aizawa panicked, putting his hand on Katsuki’s cheek.
“Oh my god, Aizawa?! I see you, I’m almost there!” Kirishima cried, hanging up.
Katsuki screamed again. “I-I’m here! I-I-I..’m here!” Katsuki sobbed in fear. He was waiting for Kirishima.
Kirishima ran up beside Katsuki. “Bakubro, I’m here…” Kirishima whispered.
Katuski looked at Kirishima, and looked at Aizawa with a questioning look in his eyes. He winced in pain and moaned in pain, his head dropping.
“Katsuki...he’s here. If that’s what you were waiting for, you can go now…” Aizawa reassured him.
“Ki-kirishima…” Katsuki whispered.
“I’m here, Bakugo...you can go now, alright? You don’t have to be in this much pain anymore…” Kirishima whispered back.
Katsuki took in a shaky breath, and weakly grabbed Kirishima’s hands. “I-I’m...I’ll go now.”
“Okay, Katsuki…” Kirishima gently caressed Katsuki’s hand, feeling how cold it was.
Katsuki’s eyes slowly shut, but after 30 seconds, they didn’t open. Two minutes, they didn’t open.
Kirishima lightly shook Katsuki’s arm. “Katsuki? Sensei I think he’s…” Kirishima knew this was going to happen, but he wasn’t prepared for it when it did.
“Katsuki, please...wake up…” Kirishima sobbed.
“Kirishima…” Aizawa whispered. “He went. He’s okay now. He's not in pain anymore. Remember that, alright?”
“Y-yeah..okay.”
Here lies a friend and a hero, Katsuki (Kacchan) Bakugo.
