Late in the evening, the couple was already in bed and was about to turn in when the older suddenly pulled the other to his arms. The younger man already knew his lover was either asking a favor or did something wrong and wanted to apologize to pull this kind of stunt on him.
"Baby…", Jongwoon softly whispers into his lover's ears. He is comfortably cuddling the younger as he caresses his cheeks with his nose.
The younger didn't reply but waited for what he was about to say.
"You know we're already together for some time now, right?", just with those words he already knew. Yesung will be asking him THE question. "Don't you think—".
"Hyung, you already know my answer.", he interjected, not letting the older to finish his question.
"Wookie, but you haven't heard my question yet.", Jongwoon was taken aback and pouted. "At least let me finish what I'm saying."
"Hyung. No.", he glared at his partner. "No. I'm not getting another turtle with you again. Look at what happened with Ddangkoma." He wasn't mad at Jongwoon but he is very sure he's not getting another pet with him.
Ryeowook remembered the struggle of having Ddangkoma in their old apartment before. They weren't a couple back then but they lived as roommates during college years.
During one of the stressful weeks, Jongwoon suddenly came home with a small turtle, naming it Ddangkoma. Because they live together, Ryeowook had no choice but to learn how to take care of the small creature, too.
It was all nice and stress relieving to see another living thing in the dorm but Jongwoon sometimes lets the little guy walk on its own around the whole place. This would either make Ryeowook have accidents by almost stepping on the little guy or have it missing for a couple of days till it decided to turn up again in their living room.
When their turtle grew up, they had to give it to an animal facility that could take care of it properly. The two were sad that they had to be separated with their first ever baby, but after that Ryeowook swore that he also had enough of turtle troubles. Taking care of a stubborn Jongwoon was already enough, he thought.
"Hey, I wasn't talking about having turtles…", the older defended. "What if I was proposing for a marriage and you thoughtlessly said no?", he scoffed.
"Marriage Proposal? In bed? You gotta plan something better, mister. You're not getting a yes from me here.", he retorted back.
"Wookie~", Jongwoon whined again trying this partner to listen to his request, or rather try to convince him to consider what he was about to say.
"Fine. What is it then?", After a few nudges and whines and snuggles, Ryeowook finally gave in.
"You're finally considering it?", Jongwoon beamed with happiness when he heard him. Ryeowook returned a nod, confirming his question.
"So, as I was saying….", Jongwoon paused for a bit and looked at him straight in the eyes. "You do know I want to build a family with you in the future, right? But I think it's too soon for us to have kids and all that… so should we atleast get a puppy instead?", he sincerely said with a cute pout on his lips, indirectly begging his lover to say yes to his request.
"I'll think about it…", Ryeowook was naturally scared of dogs so he didn't say yes at first but he really can't reject Jongwoon. It really looks like he wants another pet, and he got his heart soft when he mentioned having a future together.
Jongwoon sighed when he heard him, he did really want to have their own pet but he wanted Ryeowook to agree first before getting one.
"Babe, don't pout. I can't stand seeing you like that.", he pinched Jongwoon's cheeks and pulled on his lips, forcing him to smile. It didn't work, the guy was still pouting.
"You got 65%, babe. Maybe if you let me sleep now I'll let you have your way.", Wookie ultimately said. His boyfriend instantly pulled the sheets over them and made the bed comfortable so Ryeowook could rest properly.
"I love you.", the younger chuckles at Jongwoon's actions and pecks on his lips as goodnight..
"Even if you won't agree, I still love you…", Jongwoon said as he closes his eyes. "I really want a family with you, baby."
The morning breaks and the sun shines through the window at the couple's room. Jongwoon just woke up and found that he was alone in bed.
It was the weekend so he was surprised why Ryeowook was up early. This was the first time the guy was up early. Usually his boyfriend would stay in and cuddle with him till noon.
"Baby? Ryeonggu?", Jongwoon called for his partner but there was no answer. He decided to get up and look for him around the house but he couldn't find him.
While typing a message for Wookie, he walked up to the kitchen to get his morning coffee. On the coffee machine, he found a note.
'Love,
I know you'll see this faster on the coffee machine.
I went out to get some stuff.
I'll be back soon.
Love you!

He chuckled as he read the note. Ryeowook really knows him, leaving a note on the coffee was a smart idea. He no longer bothered to send a text to his partner and just patiently waited for his return.
Just before lunch time, a high pitched voice was heard shouting for Jongwoon's name.
Ryeonggu is finally home, Jongwoon thought.
"Jongwoon Hyunggg!!", Ryeowook excitedly called again. Jongwoon walked to the door to greet him but he was surprised to see his boyfriend down on the porch, in his arms was a small terrier.
"Waaa—? Baby?", He was speechless by his boyfriend's surprise.
"I went to a pet store and this keeps on staring at me… Their puppy eyes reminded me of you last night.", he chuckles as he teases the older. Jongwoon was still surprised on how Ryeowook planned to surprise him with a puppy.
"Come here, you. Greet our new baby", the younger pulled Jongwoon down to sit beside him, making him greet the puppy.
"He's so small", Jongwoon happily petted the small dog on Ryeowook’s arms, then he looked at it eye to eye. The puppy looked back at him and it licked his nose.
"I think he loves you already.", Ryeowook commented on the adorable sight he witnessed. Jongwoon looked back at his lover and got lost with the amount of love he feels for him.
