Work Text:

Dream's laugh. Most people knew it as his wheeze, or the weird collection of "ha"s he tortured tommy with. But few had heard his psychotic laugh. Quackity was one of these few. This horrifying noise rang out through the forest as Big Q himself ran. "Quackity, you can't run forever!" He wanted to freeze, to stop running. Running hurt, he could barely breathe, his stomach cramped. But of course he kept running, away from the blonde.

"Get the fuck away from me!" He screamed, wanting the man in green to leave him alone. To no avail, only getting a laugh in return. "Cut the shit! T-this isn't funny!" Maybe it was a joke. Quackity prayed it was a joke. But it wasn't. Nothing about this was a joke, Dream wanted blood, and Alex was his pray. The chasing went on for a bit longer. Way too long. Before the ravenette's legs gave out. He tried to get up, but it was no use. His legs ran out of power, he was far past exhaustion. Flipping himself around, he made eye-contact with the man who approached him.

"Giving up so soon?" You could hear the smirk in Dream's voice. It was almost like he had the same horrifying smile he had on his mask.

"Fuck off asshole!" Despite the horror clearly present in the boy, he tried getting away. Only making it a few feet before the psycho grabbed him. Quackity would've bitten him, hit him, kicked him, anything to get him off if it hadn't been for Dream pulling out a netherite axe. He put it up to his throat, sliding it around a bit just to taunt him.

"One wrong move and you're dead. Isn't this exciting?" He let out a fit of giggles as the smaller boy below him watched in horror. Slowly, Alex reached up, trying to pull off his mask. If it worked out like he planned, he would get distracted and he could wiggle out of his grasp. Soon he felt a fist against his face, and pain shot throughout his cheek bone. "You aren't getting away from me." The axe sat uncomfortably on his neck, any small movement causing pain. There was already a small scratch forming.

Panic truly set in when dream started putting pressure into it. "K-karl! Sapnap!" Quackity screamed. Praying for them to hear, and come running to save him.

"Aw, calling your husbands isn't gonna work." The masked man continued to push the cold blade into his neck, blood already forming.

"Sapnap! Karl! Please help anyone!" His throat hurt, but he couldn't tell if it was cause of the screaming or the axe. "Please!" His voice was strained and ragged. Dream unexpectedly took the netherite weapon off the shorter's throat. He let a sigh escape, before it set in what was really happening. All Alex saw was the shining blade coming down and the stupid mask. This was it.

"SAPNAP"

Sapnap woke up, hearing someone calling his name. It was oddly loud, but it still seemed far away. Yawning, he rubbed his eyes and listened closer. "Sapnap! Karl! Please help anyone!" His heart dropped. That was Quackity. He shook Karl, before deciding he couldn't wait for the brunette to wake. Hopping out of the bed, he quickly put on his shoes. "Please!"

His mind was racing, and nothing could calm it. The ravenette ran through the dark forest, the moon being the only light present. "SAPNAP"  Was all he heard before hearing a gruesome slice. It sounded like it was skin and bone being cut, making his mind go even wilder. He ran faster, if that was even possible, trying to find where it was coming from. Finally, he saw what looked like to be cloth, in the distance and ran towards it. Then, there was two figures, they were blobs of color. One of them, being green, bolted when they saw Sapnap. The other, was on the ground, and looked red. He got closer, and made it to the blob. But it wasn't a blob.

It was his husband. Lying there, dead. Stomach cut open, neck cut. You could see bones and organs. Sapnap let out a scream, and fell to the ground. "No! No no no! God fucking damn it!" He sobbed. Losing one of his friends to insanity was hard, but this was his husband. Dead, and lifeless. And he was too late. He couldn't save the love of his life.

"I-I..I love you Quackity." He hugged him, ignoring the immense amount of blood staining his shirt. That didn't matter. What mattered is that he lost one of the most important people to him. Someone he could've saved, if he had just been a bit quicker.
