Chapter Text
"Cheers!"
The sound of clinking glasses echoed throughout the small room followed by loud gulps and satisfied sighs. As soon as the drinking glasses are empty, everyone now gets a bottle of beer each. Laughs and murmurs can now be heard as they continue on drinking.
"I can't believe we passed!"
Ajax exclaims as he slouches on his seat. His hair is disheveled and dark bugs can be seen underneath his eyes. He's just so tired. The ginger spent a week (or maybe two) sitting in front of his laptop, compiling and troubleshooting a system he made for his school activity. He encountered multiple errors as he worked on it, which almost made him punch anyone he finds in their neighborhood (good thing there's such thing as Stack Overflow, what a lifesaver!). To his luck, he managed to finish it on time and received a good score.
Sometimes he regretted on choosing Information Technology as his course. He thought that if you are somehow good at handling computers or playing online games, everything will be a piece of cake.
He's completely wrong.
If I choose criminology maybe--ow!
A bottle cap suddenly hits him between his eyes.
Dark-blue eyes stares at Ajax in dismay, "You're right. Tsk, I expected you to be one of the retakers."
Scaramouche, or known as Balladeer in their batch, is a very unpredictable individual. He may act friendly and have you engaged in long talks, but in a moment he will completely turn into a hellspawn (especially if someone mistook him to be a middle-schooler due to his height). He is also rude and likes to maintain authority over others which eventually made him unlikeable, but it seems like he doesn't care about it at all.
Despite of that, Ajax still considers him to be his best buddy (even if the other doesn't seem to regard him as such).
Their first encounter with each other is at a game store, wherein Ajax is busy on looking at some game CDs when he noticed a familiar shade of dark blue hair. And there, he finds Scaramouche browsing through the gal-game CDs, looking at him completely surprised as if someone just caught him stealing a cookie from a cookie jar. After receiving a killer stare and a death threat, Ajax gains a friend for the first time in his university life.
"Oh c'mon, Mooch. Are you not at least happy at my progress? Geez."
The indigo haired man grunts, "I told you to quit calling me that. One more time and I'll pull your tongue out."
"'Kay, fine..." Ajax raised his hands in surrender, "...Mooch." he then gives a playful wink.
A loud screech can be heard after that.
"Ugh, my head hurts..."
Ajax gently massages his temple as he walks his way towards the apartment. After staying in the pub for almost four hours, Scaramouche is completely wasted and unable to walk his way home. Ajax then decided to drop him off at his house first by carrying the indigo-haired man on his back (his beloved locks were almost uprooted since Scaramouche decided to grip on them instead of his shoulders).
Sighing heavily, he then continues to traverse the road, some of the street lamps are currently in repair making the surroundings grimly dark.
Thankfully the moon is full tonight.
Looking up the sky, he watches the sea of stars above. His usual dull blue eyes seem to glitter as he tries to find the familiar constellations. He then sighs and casts his eyes down.
He remembered the time he asked Scaramouche to watch the stars with him. The other just gave him a disgusted look and informed him that stargazing is a thing that only couples can do, just like in his games. Ajax then proceeded to listen to an hour talk on how Scaramouche found a lover who likes the stars so much and finished her route successfully in a game.
A lover, huh?
It never crossed his mind. He received a lot of confessions before in highschool but he always turns them down. He is just not interested in entering a relationship. He would rather start a fight with his seniors than to date somebody by that time.
And now he is a college student, he is too busy on doing school activities in order to have a passing grade (or grind his character on a game) that he simply ignores the people who clearly have an interest on him.
"What am I thinking, haha..."
He blames the alcohol running in his system... Or maybe he just feels lonely. Whatever. He's probably getting influenced by Scaramouche's addiction to gal-games. He will try to ask the man next time to lend him one to play with.
Looking up the sky again, he then sees a shooting star. He's been told before that one can make a wish if they witnessed this. Seems childish, but there's nothing wrong in giving it a try.
"Okay, then..."
I wish for an angel to keep me company.
Ajax then laughs. He is really acting stupid right now. He then thinks it is best to go back home and sleep this foolishness away.
How odd. Is it already dawn and the surrounding seems to lighten up little by little?
The ginger then stopped in his tracks and gazed up. His eyes suddenly became wide as he saw a big golden light coming to his direction.
"What---"
...
"Gah!"
Ajax immediately rises up. He rubs his eyes and blinks them multiple times as he surveys his surroundings. He is in his room, on his bed, completely fine, and not being squashed by a meteor. He then sighs in relief.
So it's all a dream, huh...
The ginger then stretches his arms above his head. Everything is bright in his room, thanks to the sunlight coming from the windows. It is now probably around nine or ten in the morning.
Good thing is they are not given any homeworks for the weekend. Since his head still hurts from the drinking escapade last night, he will probably sleep for the whole day to make the pain go away.
That's when he noticed a bump next to him, completely covered by his blanket.
But I already dropped off Mooch to his house before I went home...
He slowly removes the blanket and pales on what he saw.
A sleeping boy with long blond locks. Naked. On his bed. Next to him.
"Ah!"
Ajax quickly crawls away from the figure, causing him to fall down from his bed and hit his head on the floor, "Argh!"
He then slowly gets up and puts his chin on the mattress as he stares at the person who is currently emitting light snores.
How pretty--
He then slaps himself, What are you thinking, Ajax?! You didn't even know who this boy is and how he got there in the first place! And he is also a kid! Oh dear archons! What have I done last night?!
The ginger feels another headache coming. He then closes his eyes and covers his head with his hands, looking completely distraught.
That's it! I'm not drinking again!
He then hears a rustle and as he opens his eyes, he is met with golden-brown ones.
"How rude. I'm not a kid, you know!"
Ajax chokes, "W-what?" he then quickly looks away, blushing hard, "And please cover yourself..."
It is the other's turn to blush. He quickly drapes the blanket over his body. Regaining his composure, he then fakes a cough and sits straight on the bed as he looks directly at the man's eyes, "I said I'm not a kid. I'm over 2000 years old!"
They just stare at each other for a minute, until Ajax pales again and whispers, "Have I done something horrible to make him this delusional?!"
Hearing this causes the boy to puff his cheeks in anger, "What do you mean by delusional?!" He then sighs, "If you don't believe me, let me show you something."
The boy shows Ajax his palm and above it produces a small light. It turns out to be a constellation that the ginger is not familiar with.
Ajax looks at it with wonder, "How?"
The boy closes his palm and puts a hand on his chest, "I do not come from this world." He then smiles, "And you mortal, saved me."
