Work Text:
It was way too early to even be awake, much less out and about, but Atsumu had spent an all nighter studying business tactics for his exam and he needed coffee. Entering the coffee shop down the street from his apartment, he breathed in the familiar scent, eyes closing. As he opened them, an unfamiliar sight greeted him. Or more specifically, an unfamiliar person. He was short, had bright orange hair and was wearing the coffee shop’s uniform. His brown eyes were warm, reminding Atsumu of spring.
“Welcome! What may I get you?” he asked as Atsumu walked up to the counter.
Any fatigue that the blonde had, as well as his words, were washed away by the brightest smile he had ever seen in his entire life.
“Oh no, he’s cute.” was the only thought in Atsumu’s head.
“Sir?”
The question snapped him back to reality.
“M-mocha, extra whipped cream, medium.” he said, brain on auto-pilot.
“Coming right up!”
As he waited for the barista to prepare his coffee, Atsumu tried to put his thoughts back in order, if only to not embarrass himself in front of this cutie. He glanced at the ginger, his mouth opening to say a smooth one liner, only for the words to catch in his throat. Because he saw, in full view, the sexiest piece of ass he had ever seen. The barista was bending down to get the whipped cream container out of a small minifridge, his behind up in the air. That moment lasted a few seconds, but the image was imprinted into Atsumu’s brain.
“Here’s your mocha, sir!” he said, holding out the drink with both hands to the blonde.
Without thinking, Atsumu brought both his hands up and held the other man’s hands, which were still holding the drink. Both of their eyes widened at the touch.
“P-please go out on a date with me!” Atsumu stuttered out, a blush on his face.
“You don’t even know my name, nor do I know yours!” answered the barista, laughing after the initial shock faded.
“I’m Miya Atsumu. What’s your name?”
“Shoyo. Hinata Shoyo.”
“Shoyo-kun, will you go out on a date with me?”
Shoyo pretended to think about it, but couldn’t stop the smile blooming on his face.
“Sure, Atsumu-san!”
After they discussed and decided on a day for their date, Atsumu left the shop, mocha in hand. As he looked down at the cup to take a sip, he noticed something written on it. It was a phone number with “Call me! - Hinata Shoyo” written under it. Grinning, Atsumu wrote down the number into his phone, looking forward to his date immensely.
