Feeling something new

Summary:

Albedo gets injured on Dragonspine. He has to take off time to recover from his injuries. Luckly Kaeya is around to help him.

Notes:

Albedo Nation is starving me right now. Fine. I'll write my own fics.
Take a shot for every time one of them blushes.

Work Text:

It was another early morning in Dragonspine, and Albedo was still at his table finishing up some notes from his last experiment. Another all nighter has passed, and he feels like he’s so close to finishing up his project. He can’t lie to himself anymore- he was tired as hell. That’s why he didn’t notice an arrow fly by and strike the wall next to his head. A small sigh escaped his lips.

“Now, I could have sworn monsters don’t come to this part of Dragonspine. This is unfortunate indeed.” He summoned his sword. He was a bit upset at the fact he sent Sucrose home yesterday, so it was just him. What possessed him to think that was a good idea? No matter. He swiftly took down the few hilicurls and cryo slimes that were hanging out near his camp. After the deed was done, he pulls out his notebook and jots down a new idea: Monster repellent. He loved drawing Hilichurls and other monsters, but not when they wanted to attack him and/or disturb his work. After jotting down that note, he went back to experimenting until noon when more monsters appeared. This time a cryo samachurl and a couple of Hilichurl grenadiers.

“More monsters? It shouldn’t be common for monsters to appear at this part of Dragonspine.” The alchemist drew his sword to make quick work of the enemies. Exhausted, he gathered his notes and started packing up. He can't concentrate working here. He decided to just head back to Mondstadt and finish up there. Maybe work on some repellent while he is there too. Thirty minutes later and he is walking down the mountain. On the way down he noticed a surplus in monsters. There’s more of them? He thought, deciding that he’s too tired to fight anymore. The lack of sleep these past few days are really taking a toll on him. He isn’t as alert as he used to be. Not to mention he can’t even remember that last time he ate something. Clutching his throbbing head, he continued his way down until he noticed a drop in temperature. He turned his head to make eye contact with a full on cryo abyss mage. After letting out another annoyed sigh, he took his sword out once more and began combat.

The fight isn’t easy as it usually is. The chief alchemist has no problem wiping out one from time to time, but today for some reason he can’t make sense of its movements. Have they always been so fast? No, it’s probably because Albedo has little to no energy to fight it, and he didn’t realize that until his sword got knocked out of his hand. By the time the sword landed into the snow 5 feet away from him, an ice spear impaled his right shoulder. A pained scream escaped him as he got knocked back by a ball of ice aimed at his stomach. After a series of ice attacks, Albedo fell to the ground. This is bad. Extremely bad. He was not prepared for this fight whatsoever, and because of his carelessness he was going to die here. He looked up and noticed another ice spear was forming in the air, aiming for his head. Everything in his vision started to blur. Maybe the loss of blood making him dizzy? He closed his eyes, accepting the fate that was about to befall him.

As if right on cue, a plush bunny flew across the air, exploding into the abyss mage.

“Good aim, Amber. Keep him busy while I grab Albedo.” That was a familiar voice he could make out. Albedo then felt himself getting carried bridal style by two strong arms.

“Sir Kaeya?” Albedo looked up at the blue haired man. It’s hard to notice all his features. Albedo was on the verge of passing out.

“Shh… You’re gonna be alright now. Geez, Albedo. It shot a whole ass ice spear into you? Don't worry. Me and a few other knights will escort you to the infirmary.”

“Don’t...worry about.... Me…”

Before he could finish his sentence, Albedo lost consciousness.

When he awoke, he was in the Mondstadt infirmary. Sitting up was a challenge since everything hurts, but he managed regardless. He noticed that he was bandaged up in multiple places. Not to mention he’s in a sling from fracturing his shoulder. Maybe healing magic wasn’t good enough for the critical condition he was in. After analyzing his surroundings, it would be safe to assume he got lucky and the Knights of Favonius rescued him; however, what made a ground of knights come all the way to Dragonspine for?

“I suppose I’ll have to thank them later.” He sighed to himself.

“Feel free to thank me now.” Kaeya came walking into the room, carrying a tray of food supposedly for Albedo.

“Ah yes. You have my thanks. By the way, what made you knights come all the way to Dragonspine?” Albedo politely took the tray from Kaeya’s hand and started poking at it with a fork. Kaeya chuckled.

“We noticed a large increase in monster activity in Dragonspine, so we went to check it out before it got any worse. I then wanted to check on you since I remembered you were up there for a while. I’m… glad my intuition was right. It seemed like we were just in time before…” He got quiet on the last part. How odd. Him and Kaeya have a few exchanges here and there. It was mostly Kaeya teasing Albedo in his office or them talking in meetings with the other knights, but not like this. He never saw the taller man so… worried.

“I appreciate your concerns. I promise not to be so reckless next time.” Albedo smiled at him. “You’re an excellent captain, Sir Kaeya. You try not to show it, but you care deeply for others. I feel like I can trust you.”

Kaeya laughed. “Alright alright. That’s enough praise. You’re gonna make me blush!”

“Oh. I didn’t mean to embarrass you, Sir.”

“It’s quite alright.” Kaeya sat down by his bedside. “Oh, I was supposed to ask you questions about the increase in abyssal activity in the area. I supposed I got a little distracted.”

“That? I would like to know myself. All I know is that they started appearing in an area where there is usually little to no monster activity. I never thought I would encounter a mage.” Albedo took a small bite of his sunshine sprat, wincing a bit from trying to use his dominant hand to eat.

“Are you alright, Albedo? I'm sure you must still be in pain from that fight you had earlier.”

“Yes, it does hurt a bit when I feed myself. No matter. I can always use my left-” Kaeya cut him off by gently taking his fork. He picked up a forkful with it and held it up to Albedo’s face.

“Allow me to help you then. Say Ahh~” He teased. Albedo’s eyes widened in surprise. Since when did this guy get so bold? A few moments passed and the blonde man closed his eyes and gave in to the bluenette’s demands.

“Ahh…”

Kaeya’s heart did another flip. This man was too cute! He doesn’t understand why he’s so drawn to Albedo. It could be the fact he’s the only person he is unable to read, or perhaps they both share the same origins? He doesn’t bother to figure out the real reason he wants to get to know Albedo. Shaking these thoughts from his head, he proceeded to silently feed the alchemist food until he finished the whole plate.

“I have a question,” Albedo spoke up again once Kaeya finished neatly setting the empty tray down on the floor. “Why with the sudden treatment? We don’t really talk that much, yet here you are feeding me.”

“I guess you can say I’m trying to get to know you better. You’re always such a mystery to me. Unlike other people, I find you very hard to read.” Kaeya leaned in to study his face.

“What are you thinking about anyways?”

Albedo looked him in the eyes. “Nothing much. Just how I’m going to do my work in my current state.”

“Oh that. Jean went ahead and gave you paid time off for you. You should feel good as new in about three weeks. That is with healing magic and plenty of rest.”

“Time… off?” The thought of not spending time in his lab is such a foreign concept to him. Not to mention his dominant arm is basically out of commission, so drawing might be out of the question unless he figures out how to use his left hand. He let out an annoyed sigh.

“I do have to get going now. I appreciate our little chat, but duty calls. I’ll leave you to get some rest now.” Kaeya stood up.

“Wait.” Albedo shifted a bit in his bed. “Do you think… maybe we can have another talk like this? There isn’t a lot I can do in this room, and I don’t mind talking to you.” Friendships and social interactions are hard for him. The only people he casually speaks to are either Klee and Sucrose, but he finds Kaeya’s presence not so bad as well.

“Oh? You’re interested in me as well? Very well then, I’ll come visit you when I have free time.” Kaeya swiftly left the infirmary, waving off from behind him.

And that he did. For the next three days Kaeya visited him for a few minutes to talk to him. At first they talk about work related things, but then they shift into talking about their personal lives like favorite spots to visit in Mondstadt or how Albedo is worried about how Klee is doing since he’s not able to leave the infirmary just yet (Kaeya ended up bringing her the next time he visited Albedo.) When they have nothing to say, they just sit there in comfortable silence and on some occasions, Kaeya offers to feed Albedo despite him saying he can do it himself at this point. On the third day, Albedo was well enough to leave. He is still wearing his sling, but it should heal fast thanks to healing magic. On his way out, he saw Kaeya leaning on the wall next to the door.

“Well well well… seems like they finally let you go. How are you feeling?” He smiled at the alchemist.

“I feel fine. They are still making me wear this thing, so doing research might be a little hard.”

“Such a workaholic. I swear you remind me of Jean sometimes. You’re on medical leave, so you should relax a bit.” The Cavalry Captain suggested. Albedo made an annoyed face. There is a lot of research he wants to do, yet he can't push himself with his injuries. Not to mention he sure as hell can’t go to Dragonspine with no ways of defending himself. He sighed.

“I don’t know.” He mumbled.

“Hm? Don’t know what?” Kaeya asked.

“How to… relax.” Albedo rubbed his neck. “Studying Alchemy is my hobby. I usually like to draw to pass the time but… I can’t use my right hand. So…” He trailed off. Kaeya gently took his hand.

“I believe I have some time to keep you entertained for a while then. I could use an afternoon to myself anyways.”

“Really? I don’t want to take up too much of your time.” Albedo looked at the ground, causing Kaeya to use his other hand to lift his chin up to make Albedo look at him. A slight blush appeared on his cheeks. He hoped that the other man didn’t notice.

“Really, it’s no problem at all for me.” He heard the other man say in such a smooth, silky tone. “I have to finish up some things, but would you like to come to Angel’s Share with me later?”

As if he was placed under a spell, Albedo simply nodded in response. Kaeya released him shortly after that.

“Perfect. I should be done with work in about two hours. Try not to miss me too much.”

“A-Alright then.”

Did I just stutter? Albedo thought to himself. He wasn’t expected to be caught off guard like that. Apparently his stutter brought a chuckle to the other man before he turned around and walked off. Well, good to know Kaeya thinks his embarrassment is entertaining.

Two hours passed and just like Kaeya promised, he was there at the bar with Albedo sitting next to him. It was awkward at first, but they soon began to loosen up after a couple drinks. Albedo stopped after his second drink, but was still buzzed enough to open up more than usual. There were even those occasional moments where he would laugh at the silly comments Kaeya made.

“You should smile more, Albedo. It’s such a nice look on you.” Kaeya rested his chin on his hand, looking at the other male with half-lidded eyes. Albedo looked at him with a confused look.

“‘A nice look?’”

“Like- you’re already really pretty, but when you show me this side of you, it makes my heart rate go up.”

“That sounds dangerous.”

Kaeya snorted. “You know what I mean, silly.” He went to pick up his cup, but Albedo picked it up before he did.

“C’mon. Any more drinks and I would have to lug you home. Can’t really carry you there with one arm.” Before Kaeya tried to swipe it back, Albedo downed the rest of his drink. He knew Kaeya would have easily snatched it back from him, so he did the next best thing and finished it for him.

“Wow~ You know I drank from that cup. I didn’t take you to be so bold, Albedo.” Kaeya teased. Albedo blushed a little at the fact they just had an indirect kiss. It must sound silly, but in the moment, he swore to Celestia he felt like his heart was about to explode. Kaeya must have loved his reaction because he continued teasing him.

“Wait, don’t tell me that you’re flustered from such a small thing~ It makes me even wonder if you’ve ever kissed someone yet.”

Albedo groaned and covered his face with his hand. He just HAD to hit the nail right on the damn head.

“Wait, I was kidding. You never really kissed anyone?” He leaned in, smirking at the blushing mess he created.

“I-I just find gestures useless. I mean- why should I waste my time trying to understand human interactions such as kissing?” Shit, he stuttered AND got defensive. Albedo looked away in order to have Kaeya not be able to read his face. Too bad for him, Kaeya still knows how to get under his skin regardless of not seeing his facial expressions.

“Oh? So you think kissing doesn’t mean anything to you? Then, you don’t mind if I claim your first kiss then, hmm?” He cupped Albedo’s cheek, making him look at him. Bright cyan eyes looking back into his, widening as if Kaeya’s words are replaying in his mind. He said nothing as Kaeya started leaning in, closer and closer. Before lips meet, Albedo shut his eyes and balled his fists. The taller man slowly opened his eyes to notice what’s going on in front of him.

Albedo was trembling.

A brief sigh escaped Kaeya’s lips before pulling away. He came on too strong and Albedo was not ready for it. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to tease you that much.”

“N-Not at all. It’s not your fault. I uhm… I didn’t mean to make it weird. This is all so sudden I-”

“It’s fine. I’m not going to do anything you don’t want to. I’m not a monster.” Kaeya jokes. “It seems like the bar is about to close soon. I really don’t want Diluc to kick me out again, so let’s go while we can. Here, I’ll walk you home.” Albedo nodded shyly before getting up. He quietly followed Kaeya out of the bar and into the streets. It was already dark out. Just how long were they in there chatting? He almost feels bad for taking up the captain’s entire evening, only to make it weird in the end. He couldn’t help but take short glances at Kaeya while they were walking. He noticed a conflicted look in the man’s eye. Kaeya always complains about hardly being able to read him, but he does the same thing. It’s unfair.

The walk back was silent. Uncomfortably silent. Nothing but the sound of their shoes hitting the pavement. Are they going to talk about how Kaeya tried to kiss him? No, both of them were too nervous to say something. What if this was the last time they were going to hang out? What if Kaeya lost all interest in him because he was too overwhelmed in the moment to kiss him? He didn’t want this to be the last time they got to speak to each other like this. A cold feeling was in his chest. It hurt and made him feel sick. Was this anxiety he’s feeling?

“We’re here- ah, Albedo? You look pale. Are you feeling unwell?”

“I’m quite alright. My shoulder is just killing me is all.” A lie.

“I see. Do you need any assistance? We can’t have your condition worsening.” A gloved hand was about to reach out to cup Albedo’s cheek, but stopped before it reached contact.

Ah, It seems that Sir Kaeya is afraid of touching me now.

Under the light emitting from the light by his door, Albedo can get a better look at Kaeya. There was a slight blush on his cheeks, his eyebrows furrowed with worry, and his lips slightly parted as if he wanted to say something.

‘In short words, beautiful.’

Albedo’s eyes widened as his hand clamped over his mouth. He did not just say that out loud. There is no way in hell he did. Kaeya said nothing. He was just looking at the floor; his hands are now fidgeting with his hair. Was Kaeya… being shy?

“Don’t call me that… it feels weird when you say it.” His tone shifted. It sounded almost whiny. As if his confident expression finally disappeared. Another silence before Albedo spoke up.

“I-I’m going to go in now. Thanks for today. Let’s do this again- ah shit I dropped my keys. Um…” Albedo was scrambling to get inside at this point. There was no response from the other man. Embarrassing.

A few moments later Albedo closed the door behind him. Afterwards, he leaned against the door and clutched his chest. Why was it so hard to breathe? Why is his mind spinning? Was it because he basically slammed the door in that poor mans face, the fact he looks so pretty when he does anything, or the fact that perfect man took the afternoon off to hang out with him and tried to fucking kiss him? It was ONE hang out and so much already went down. What is he to Kaeya? A crush? A friend? Someone he just wanted to spend the night with?

He shook his head. Kaeya is not that kind of person. Maybe. Not that he’d mind-

Before he finished that thought, he took a cold shower and spent a lot of time thinking, Albedo managed to calm down and get ready to go to bed. He’s not sure what’s going to happen to his relationship, but whatever happens, happens. This was his punishment for attempting at social interactions. He looked out from the corner of his eye to see his sketchbook laying next to him. If only he was able to draw…

No matter. He grabbed his book and flipped to an old sketch of Kaeya. He swears every drawing of Kaeya is bound to look great no matter what. It's what he loves most about drawing the man. Looking at old sketches, he let out an annoyed hum. There are a lot of details about the bluenette that Albedo never even got the change to realize until spending time with him in the infirmary.

“Archons, what did this man do to me?” A hand ran through his hair. He’s so frustrated at the fact that this man makes him feel… light. As if he can tell that man everything and anything.

Too bad it all got weird tonight. Before Albedo knew it, his eyelids got heavy and he drifted off into a deep sleep with his sketchbook wide open to the Kaeya page.

A few weeks passed and the two of them did not speak to each other. Maybe their relationship was now strained. Albedo spent most of his time with Klee while he was recovering. It was nice how she stays over and helps him with his chores. She also happily escorts him outside Mondstadt when he wants a change in scenery. In fact, Albedo nearly forgot about the whole Kaeya thing until one day while having a tea party with Klee outside the walls, Klee spoke up.

“Big brother? Do you like anyone?”

“Hm? What makes you ask such a trivial question?” Albedo said calmly, sipping his tea.

“W-Well… I was looking for paper to sketch with, so I tried to use the paper from your sketchbook. Why were there so many drawing’s of Kaeya?”

Albedo choked on his tea. Klee was going through his things again? Damn. How could he explain his reason without making the spark knight suspicious?

“Well, I just find him easy to draw. He looks interesting too does he not?” A perfect answer.

“Is that why you smile at your sketchbook sometimes?” When did this girl get so smart? Ah, she also hangs out with Kaeya. She must be getting good at analyzing other people. She’s young, but she isn’t blind. All this Kaeya talk just reminds him of that night. He could still feel the warmth from when Kaeya cupped his cheek. Before he knew it, he was blushing.

“Aha! I knew it! I even saw you two walking home the other night! It’s weird though. Why don’t you guys talk anymore. He seemed so excited when we went to the infirmary to see you when you were still in there.”

Kaeya was excited to visit him? He felt his face getting hotter. It’s been weeks since he last spoke to him. How was he still getting so worked up in front of Klee?

“Well, no matter! I managed to invite big brother Kaeya to have some tea with us anyways! It’s been a while since we all got together-”

“You did WHAT now?!” Albedo’s voice raised an octave. He feels like he’s about to go into cardiac arrest. He finally calmed down when he realized he accidentally raised his voice at the little girl.

“I’m sorry. Was I being a bad girl again?” She looked like she wanted to cry. Shit. He messed up big time.

“Ah, N-No. I’m sorry Klee. It’s just… it took me by surprise. I didn’t mean to yell. C’mere.” Albedo opened his arms to invite her for a hug. She happily leaped into his arms to give him a hug. Albedo sighed in relief. If she started crying, he would never forgive himself. Although he wished she mentioned Kaeya earlier.

“Am I interrupting something?” A familiar voice said behind them. Albedo tensed it. He already knew who it was. Klee pulled away and smiled up at Kaeya.

“Big brother Kaeya! I was just talking about how Albedo-”

Like hell Albedo was going to let her finish her sentence. In a moment of panic, he grabbed a nearby pastry (they were eating them with their tea) and shoved it in Klee’s mouth, shutting her up. Apparently, Kaeya found the whole thing amusing as he chuckled and took a seat next to Albedo.

“How are you feeling, Albedo?” He asked.

“Im feeling a lot better. The nurse said one more week, and I can take this sling off. I can also return to work shortly after.

“Aww, but I like it when you’re not busy with work…” Klee finished off the pastry she was snacking on.

“How about next time I visit Dragonspine, you come with me?” Albedo offered. He’s not worried about her being there. In fact, he’s mostly worried about the mountain itself as he's bringing Klee along.

“Yay! I get to go to work with big brother Albedo!” She beamed. “I can also fight the monster that broke his shoulder. And make them pay!”

Kaeya wanted to tell her that the monster was dead forever ago, but he decided to let her have her fun.

Moments passed with the 3 of them talking until Klee got bored and ran off to go play with some pigeons. Once she left, Silence returned. Not the good silence. It was uncomfortable. Both of them wanted to say something, but how was Albedo going to speak first after ghosting him for weeks?

“Kaeya, I-”
“Albedo are you-” They both spoke at the same time before immediately going quiet.”

“You first.”
“Oh, no it’s fine it wasn’t anything important.”

Kaeya sighed in defeat. “Are you mad at me, Albedo?” He sounded a bit timid. Very out of character for someone like Kaeya. Is he nervous? Albedo can't help but to find it cute.

“Mad? Me? I was worried that you were tired of being around me.” Albedo rubbed his neck. Kaeya looked shocked.
“Me? Tired of Albedo? I could never. Everything about you amazes me.” Kaeya leaned in closer.

“You as well… I must say I never reacted this way before.” Albedo looked into his blue eye.

“Like what?”

“Like my chest feels light, but also like it could burst out at any moment. Not to mention my body feels hot at the mention of you and-” He shut himself up quickly. Did he just confess his attraction to Kaeya? He felt his face grow hotter and hotter at the moment. Kaeya simply chuckled.

“Hey, it’s alright. I'm nervous too.” Kaeya took his hand. He gently caressed his hand before realizing that he’s touching Albedo again. He analyzed Albedo for any signs of discomfort. He seems a lot less nervous. Good.

“Albedo… can I kiss you?” Kiss. That word was enough to make Albedo’s head spin. He looked at Kaeya’s face. He didn’t even know the other male was capable of being embarrassed. It was kind of a cute look on him. Maybe this is a side of Kaeya he doesn’t like to display in public. “Heh, your silence is making me a little scared.”

“Kiss me, please.”

That was all Kaeya needed to hear before closing the distance between them. Just as Albedo expected, Kaeya was a good kisser. No- ‘good’ would be an understatement. He never knew kissing could feel this good. He closed his eyes and placed his hand onto the other man’s shoulder. In response, he felt a hand snake around his waist. After a few moments, they pulled away to catch their breath. It wasn’t long before Albedo leaned in to catch his lips once more. He didn’t know what he was feeling, but it felt so… right. All he could hear was the smacking of lips, the tree’s rustling in the wind, and a large boom coming from Cider Lake.

Oh wait, shit. They took their eyes off Klee. Kaeya also heard the large boom and quickly pulled Albedo off of him.

“Stay here. I’ll go get Klee.” He said and ran off, leaving Albedo all red faced. He kissed Kaeya. Just a few moments ago, they were kissing. He placed two fingers to his lips, as if he can still feel Kaeya’s lips on his. It felt good. Very good. In fact, he already wants to kiss him again. He chuckled to himself. It wasn’t bad for his first kiss.

20 minutes passed, and Kaeya came back holding Klee up by her armpits. The two men both agreed to take her to the knights headquarters, and boy, was Jean NOT pleased to see her. While Klee was in solitary confinement, Albedo agreed to let Kaeya walk him home. The entire walk home was lively. Both of them could not run out of things to say. There was even a moment Albedo had to shut himself up for talking about alchemy only to have Kaeya chuckle and call him cute. “You look so cute while you’re lost in thought.” He said at one point. Once they reached the house, Albedo quickly stood on his toes to give Kaeya a quick peck on the cheek and whispered goodnight. Before he goes into his house, he hears Kaeya call back to him. “Albedo, wait.”

“Yes?”

“What are we?” A moment of silence. What are they actually? Albedo fancied the other man for a while now, but does he even feel the same way?

“I… I don’t know. I’m still new to all of this. I still need to sort out my own emotions right now.”

Kaeya chuckled. “Well. I just want to let you know that I like you. A lot.” He noticed Albedo turning a bit red at his confession. He chooses not to say anything. How can he when he feels his own cheeks growing warm?

“You don’t have to give me an answer right away, but I will wait for as long as you want me to.” He steps closer to the shorter male. “Does that sound fair?” Albedo turned away and nodded. What is he so shy about?

“Alright then. I should be taking my leave now-”

“Wait.” Albedo tried to muster up the courage to ask him a small request. “Do you want to stay the night?” Silence fell. He was unsure why Kaeya’s eyes widened in shock. It wasn’t until he realized why Kaeya was blushing, and sooner or later Albedo quickly started defending himself.

“N-No I didn’t mean that as in ‘that’ way it’s just… It’s late and it’s a long walk back and-”

Kaeya quickly calmed his beating heart. Pushing all dirty thoughts from his head, he politely declined. “My place isn’t far from here. Plus I highly doubt any of your clothes would fit me.” A forehead kiss. “I’ll see you soon, love.” With that, he walked off.
Another week passed, and Albedo was fully healed. He wasted no time getting back to work. He spent all day helping Sucrose and Timaeus with any work they were struggling with during his recovery. He didn’t even notice the sun was setting until a voice called out to him.

“So there you are. Eager to get back to work, huh?”

Albedo didn’t even turn around. He knows whose voice it belonged to. “Ah, Sir Kaeya. Pleasure seeing you here.”

“Just ‘Kaeya is fine. We are alone after all.” He walked over and planted a kiss onto the alchemist’s temple. Albedo wasn’t at all nervous around him anymore, save for the flirting. Ever since that kiss they shared, Kaeya visited him more often at his house until he was able to get back to work. They had moments where they cuddled or kissed when they were alone. It didn’t take long for Albedo to feel comfortable around him. In fact, he’s head over heels for Kaeya now. He never felt so excited to be around someone so much and he loves the attention he gives him. He isn’t afraid to admit to himself- he’s in love with Kaeya.

“Since we are alone. There is something I’ve been wanting to tell you.” Albedo puts his notebook down. “I… never felt this way about someone as I do with you. This short time we spent together, I believe I can finally say those three words.”

“Albedo, I love you.” Kaeya quickly beat him to it. Albedo looked at him wide eyed. His face now flushed.

“You… you jerk!” He softly punched Kaeya’s arm. “I spend all this time preparing to say “‘I love you’ only to have you beat me to it.” He was about to hit him again when Kaeya grabbed his wrist, laughing at his embarrassment.

“So, does that make us official then, love?” Kaeya leaned in. Albedo kissed him softly before pulling away to utter, “yes” and kissing him again.
