Chapter 1: Day 1 | Calendar

Summary:

Prompt: Anniversary/Debate

Logan has been working a lot lately, but he can’t help to think he had something planned for today

Chapter Text

Logan sat at his desk then looked at his calendar… Was he supposed to do something today? He sighed staring at it, nothing was marked on his calendar but he felt like he had something to do. Logan stood up, fully ignoring the work he had been doing. He stood in front of his calendar staring at it, what was it he had to do? Logan sighed, pulling out his phone checking his phone calendar. On his phone there was simply a star on his calendar, no other notes about today… just that simple annoying star. Logan sighed, dropping his phone down on the desk.

Suddenly someone was knocking at Logan’s door, “L? You ready?” Virgil asked from outside his room.

Logan froze… today… Virgil…  it was their anniversary. He forgot their anniversary… how did he forget their anniversary. Logan quickly closed his computer, “Yeah! Yeah… just give me a moment, I just need to finish getting ready.” Logan called out and checked himself in the mirror quickly fixing his tie before opening his door. “Virgil, hello. Happy Anniversary.”

Virgil stared at him, “Happy Anniversary?” he asked, confused.

“Yes, is it our anniversary… is it not?”

“Um… that’s next month…” Virgil laughed.

Logan stared at him, “Next, next month?”

“Yeah. thought you would know that…”

Logan nodded slowly, “mhmm, Virgil… what am I supposed to be ready for then?”

“Our debate…”

“Oh… our debate..” Logan confirmed, “Yes, I… let me get my notes ready…”

Virgil nodded and watched as Logan shut the door, as soon as it was closed he burst out laughing.

Chapter 2: Day 2 | The Stars

Summary:

Prompt: Songs/Stars

just domestic shit, Logan and Virgil sitting in the grass, talking, and looking at stars

Chapter Text

Logan laid in the grass, his arms behind his head as he watched the sky, mumbling to himself about all the constellations. When he saw a shooting star he instantly sat up smiling watching it go by.

Virgil walked across the yard holding two mugs of tea and sat down beside Logan and lowered his headphones to around his neck, “it’s starting to get cold, I brought you some tea.”

Logan looked over at Virgil and smiled, “thanks.” He lightly took one of the mugs. “Aren’t the stars so fascinating.”

“Mm they definitely are.” Virgil nodded leaning against Logan and sipping his own tea.

Logan sighed softly grabbing the blanket beside him and putting it over them both. “I want to get a telescope. Look at them closer.”

“Don’t blind yourself, L. I hear stars are pretty bright.” Virgil mumbled smiling.

Logan laughed, “I’m already wearing glasses, which means in some way I am already a bit blind. But I won’t blind myself. If looking at stars blinded people, I would be fully blind awhile ago, especially with looking at you constantly, starlight.”

Virgil laughed blushing. “Um, maybe when we get a house, we could get like a greenhouse, just a room of windows. Then you could set your telescope up in there”

“Then I’d even be able to lay on a couch in there watching the stars, even if it was freezing outside.”

Virgil nodded and shivered a bit as a cold breeze went by them. He cuddled up more against Logan and finished off his tea.

Logan noticed it was starting to get cooler and kissed Virgil’s forehead, “come on, let’s head inside.” He said and stood up slowly. He grabbed his book and mug.

Virgil nodded and stood holding the blanket and his own mug.

They walked inside together, Logan glancing back looking at the sky to see another shooting star go across it.

Chapter 3: Day 3 | Nightmares Fueled by Flames

Summary:

Prompt: Nightmare/Dreams

Virgil opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was his home full of flames. Desperately he searched for Logan. He was completely oblivious it was a nightmare.

Notes:

Chapter Warnings: Angst(with comfort), Major Character Death Suggested, Fire

Chapter Text

Flames, they were everywhere. Smoke covered the room. Virgil looked around and coughed, “Logan?” He called out walking into their home.

Virgil didn’t know how this happened, what had happened, or how he got here. He just… was here.

Virgil stepped into the home, his anxiety on overdrive but overpowered by his adrenaline. “Logan?!” He called out again looked around and covering his face to lessen the smoke he inhaled. Virgil walked into their bedroom not seeing Logan anywhere in there.

“Virgil?” Logan called out weakly from the other room.

Virgil heard and looked around instantly going to Logan’s office. It was dangerous walking around… but for some reason the flames were everywhere but in his path.

Virgil pushed open the office door and paused seeing Logan on the ground, his bookshelf having fallen on top of him. The fire and smoke worse in this room, a paper had been placed over a candle catching fire.

Virgil quickly tried to pull the bookshelf off Logan, “could you crawl out? Quickly!” He begged on the verge of tears before giving up. He fell to his knees crying, “Logan. It will be alright, you’ll be alright.”

Logan shook his head softly, “no…”

Virgil kissed Logan’s cheek and coughed.

Logan started to get drowsy, unable to breathe, the room completely dominated by the smoke.

“Logan! Logan no!” He cried out as he watched Logan pass out from smoke inhalation.

Virgil stood up trying to get out of the room to call for help, hoke for it to come sooner. But the door caught fire affectively trapping him. “No…” he looked at Logan, tears flooding his eyes more, “don’t die… please.” He already knew his chances were low. He felt himself slowly subcomming to the smoke.

“Virgil, Virgil!” Logan’s voice rang out strong.

Virgil looked over seeing Logan still passed out. He coughed and shook his head slightly as the room began fading to black.

Virgil opened his eyes, it was bright. Logan was leaning over him, he was being hugged. “Lo?” He asked softly, voice filled with tiredness and fear.

Logan sighed softly in relief pulling him closer, “Virgil, it’s alright. I have you.”

“You were dying…” Virgil whispered, eyes tearing up seeing Logan perfectly fine.

“No, no I wasn’t. Starlight, I’m fine, it was just a nightmare.” He whispered back.

Virgil sat up and hugged Logan cuddling closer, his grip tight, as if he never planned on letting go.

Logan nodded softly, understanding. He held Virgil close and turned on the tv starting to play a random show they had been watching together, knowing Virgil didn’t plan on sleeping more in fear of nightmares.

Chapter 4: Day 4 | The Meeting of Heroic Soulmates

Summary:

Prompt: Alternate Universe

Logan and Virgil are soulmates, and both superheroes. They communicate via something kind of like telepathy. Logan falls through a black hole and is saved by who he realizes is his soulmate, Virgil. Aka a soulmate au, hero au, and an alternate reality/universe au all in one.

Chapter Text

Logan sat on the edge of his chair staring at his computer, when he heard an alert from the earpiece in his ear. Logan instantly got up and changed his clothes, he pulled out his black jumpsuit and put on the light armor pieces going over it that were a light bluish metal, there were lines throughout his suit outlining parts of the armor that lit up a bit. “ Time to get to work” he thought after getting ready as he went to his secret staircase to leave the building.

“Mhmm me too”, A voice in his head said after a few moments.

Logan smiled hearing his soulmate, “ delay between responses seems to be getting better.”

“It’s still long having a few seconds of silence between responses though.”

“Yes, it could be quite odd.” Logan nodded to himself pushing open the door and walking through the secret door and went to his car as he adjusted his mask, or more like a helmet. His helmet was the same bluish metal that covered his whole head, the eyes glowed blue and also were his prescription for glasses, there were a few of the glowing lines on the helmet too. He got into his car driving to the alert.

“I’ll talk more to you later, Logan.”

“Yeah… I’ll talk later, Virgil.” Logan smiled and drove to the location preparing to fight his enemy.

___

Virgil crouched on a roof, his black cloak blowing in the wind behind him. Virgil wore a full black suit with a hood and a cape that could detach. He had a metal staff strapped to his leg that could extend to be his weapon. He had a full face mask under his hood that had purple eyes and had a slight skull design on it. Virgil looked up to the sky smiling as he stood up and untapped his staff and hit it on the ground extending it. The building across the street from Virgil suddenly had one of it’s windows smash outward from the inside. A bunch of people jumping out and laughing about how slow the police were and all that.

Virgil smirked and jumped off the building landing near the thieves, allowing the wind to help him land. “Having a productive day?”

“Oh look at who it is, the weak little hero.” One of them laughed staring at Virgil.

“Well thank you for the introduction then.” Virgil smirked under his mask and rushed at the thieves. He jumped and used his staff to keep himself stable as he flew into one person’s face, kicking them, causing them to fall to the ground. As soon as he hit the ground a gust of wind blew at the others. “Who would like to come at me next, or would you all like to surrender?” He asked letting some electricity course through his staff.

Two of the four left looked at each other and started to run.

Virgil sighed, shaking his head and stomped on the ground, the ground rumbled and suddenly the street rose, cracking the pavement and creating a wall in the way of the thieves' path of escape. “Well, I see you both chose your choice…”

The other two quickly kneeled on the ground dropping their stuff and putting their hands up.

The two that had run turned around getting ready as if they were about to fight.

Virgil shook his head walking over to them

___

Logan jumped out of his car walking into the lab, “where is he?” he asked softly looking at the receptionist.

“Up...up stairs.. Tenth floor… he has… there are hostages.” They whispered trying to act as if everything was perfectly fine.

Logan nodded and went to the stairs running up there. Logan paused at the 8th floor catching his breath for a moment before continuing the rest of the way up then shoving open the door. He quickly walked down the hall, a hall made of glass windows. He paused when he saw someone walk out of the doorway on the other end of the hall and walked toward him.

“Well, well, well… Look who came to the rescue… it’s the copycat.”

Logan sighed, “And looks like it's the energy freak here for a drug fix I assume.”

“Aw, you know me so well, copycat. Honestly it might be you who is my soulmate, oh wait, it couldn’t be… my soulmate isn’t annoying.” He snarked before creating a ball of energy and tossing it at Logan.

Logan quickly caught the ball and absorbed it, “Now I see we’re on equal playing grounds.”

“Oh you’re no fun, that was supposed to hit you.” he laughed.

Logan shook his head, “Usually you’re smarter than that then.” Logan replied and started to form an orb of energy to attack and fully get to know how to use the power. He was looking down when suddenly he quickly moved back.

A beam of energy passed Logan quickly. “Come on, copycat! Honestly, how do you even tell when I’m about to attack.”

“You’re obvious.” Logan replied not mentioning his weak precognition.

The villain glared and shot a beam at Logan.

Logan quickly started blasting one back.

The beams of energy collide and cause an explosion. They didn’t stop though, they continued feeding into each other.

“You won’t win, Cat.”

“Neither will you.” Logan groaned slightly, he never understood why this dude constantly called him a cat, he was clearly human.

Their surroundings suddenly started darkening, only illuminated by the beams of energy.

“Caught some dudes, small-time bank robbers, you doing anything interesting?” Virgil’s voice suddenly rang through Logan’s mind.

Logan heard and closed his eyes for a moment before focusing his mind back on his foe, “Just currently in a fight.  I-” Logan paused looking around seeing the room growing pitch black, “What the f-”

There was a sudden explosion lighting up the room, shattering all the windows, and throwing both Logan and the Villain back. Logan hit the ground and looked up seeing a large black void in the middle of the room, that started trying to pull him closer.

“Logan? Logan!” Virgil called anxiously.

Logan pulled out a knife stabbing the floor trying to keep himself from flying back. His grip was slowly weakening though. The void started pulling stronger and shrinking smaller. He couldn’t hold on much longer and flew back into the void falling in.

Just as Logan went in, it closed.

____

Virgil stood in the middle of the road panicking as Logan didn’t respond.

Cops and paramedics passed by him, some tried to ask questions but he didn’t respond, he just stayed there.

The thieves being taken away from the scene.

Then there were screams.

Virgil snapped out of it and looked around before he saw someone pointing up. Slowly he looked up at the sky, the clouds growing black and starting to swirl like a tornado. “Everyone finds shelter!” he yelled looking around.

Everyone upon hearing their hero ran indoors getting away.

Virgil stood in the middle of the road staring at the sky, watching.

The eye of the storm grew even darker and darker, until suddenly there was a flash of light.

Virgil covered his eyes shielding them from the light before looking up again and seeing the world was back to normal before he realized something, someone was falling from the sky. Virgil quickly took off running and used air to make himself fly into the air, going to catch the person, save them.

The person continued falling from the sky, no signs of being conscious. They wore a black suit that was a bit torn up and some blue metal armor pieces over the suit and a helmet that matched.

Virgil caught up and grabbed them holding them close as he let the air help slow him down as he landed on the ground.

When he landed he put the other person on the ground and figured out how to take off their helmet and tossed it to the side before checking they were alive. Virgil was relieved to feel a pulse.

Suddenly the person gasped, opening his eyes and sitting up quickly.

When the person woke up, Virgil moved back and pushed them back to lay down, “Calm down, you’ve been saved. Could you tell me your name?”

“Saved? Where…” The guy glanced around before staring at his saviour. “Um… call me cat…” he said instantly regretting it and not wanting to let anyone know his true identity.

“Alright… Cat. Could you explain what just happened?”

“Um… I think I fell through a black hole?” Logan replied and sighed, closing his eyes, “Hey virgil, sorry I didn’t respond before… I think I just hit my head.”

Virgil nodded softly, “Um…” he sighed softly, “Yeah, same with the guy who I just saved, he’s insane, definitely hit his head.”

Logan sighed just breathing, “Hm… no delay… and what did he say?”

“That he fell through a black hole.”

Logan paused and opened his eyes staring at his saviour, “Virgil?”

Virgil stared at him, “Wha-how did you… Logan?”

Logan laughed, “Nice to meet you, soulmate.”

“Nice to meet you too.”

Notes:

So it’s not explained well but Logan and Virgil are from different universes, the delay is because of that. Logan going through the blackhole brought him to Virgil’s universe

Chapter 5: Day 5 | Tutoring Sessions

Summary:

Prompt: Skateboard/Flashcards

Virgil is failing classes and Logan is going to tutor him.

Chapter Text

Virgil ‘skateboarded’ down the street going to school, aka he went a few inches then carried the skateboard then repeated.

Virgil arrived at school and put his skateboard in his locker then went down the hall going to class. He walked inside when the teacher looked up and saw him.

“Virgil… go to the hallway, we need to talk for a moment.” She said and led him back to the hall.

The halls were basically cleared by now, almost everyone was in their classes.

Virgil stood in the hall against a wall, his hands in his pockets messing with whatever he had as he stood anxiously.

“Virgil, you’re badly failing my class. You’ll fail if you don’t fix that. I want you to meet with Logan, he is very smart and will tutor you. You both have the same free period last class. Please do this.” She smiled and went back to the class.

Virgil sighed and walked back into the class, staying silent the whole entire time.

___

Virgil finished his last class and went to the library for his study hall. He looked around and saw a nerd looking at some flashcards. Virgil walked over sitting down and dropping his bag.
“Hey teach, so you’re my tutor.”

Logan looked up and nodded, “Yes. I’ll be tutoring you.” He nodded and handed Virgil a stack of flashcards. “Read those, they’re some short notes.”

Virgil nodded and looked down reading them quietly, “You have some nice handwriting.”

“Thank you.” Logan nodded and paused when he heard his phone go off, a simple ding as his ringtone. Logan pulled out his phone and stared at the message confused.

Virgil looked up noticing, “You good nerd?”

“No… I don’t understand what this person texted me… did they accidently keyspam?” He asked softly then showed Virgil the text only to get help.

Virgil burst out reading the text

‘Hi baby who l8tr <3?’

Logan stared at Virgil, “What does it mean.”

Virgil stared at him, “wow… you really don’t understand do you. Guess those rumors about you not understanding slang are true too then.”

“Please just tell me.”

Virgil sighed, “Hi baby, want to go out later, heart.” Virgil replied.

Logan started then looked at his phone and texted back something before putting it down. He didn’t get any responses.

Virgil watched, “What did you say?”

“That I am in fact gay.” Logan nodded, “Shall we continue this session of tutoring.”

“I…” virgil started, “Um alright, only if I could tutor you in slang when we finish.”

Logan started, “Deal. When we take breaks you could.” He said and handed over some blank flashcards.

Virgil smiled taking them, “Lets stop me from failing then.”

Chapter Text

Logan walked down the street and pushed up his glasses a bit, he held a stack of books in his arms as he walked down the street. Though Logan wasn’t paying attention enough.

There was a guy listening to music as he walked down the street in the opposite direction of Logan, walking straight towards him not paying attention.

Logan tripped slightly on a crack in the sidewalk and looked down as he stumbled, accidentally going right into a guy and making them both fall to the ground. Logan instantly pushed himself up and offered the other some help up. ”I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to.”

The guy on the ground took out an earbud and sighed, “no, it’s my fault, I wasn’t looking.” He said then looked up at Logan taking his hand.

Logan shrugged, “coincidentally I wasn’t looking either.” He smiled slightly, grabbing the other guy’s hand and pulling him up. He paused when the other was standing and stared at the other looking at his deep blue eyes, “Um… have we met before?”

________

Viren walked down the street, his cloak hood covering his head. He looked up at a door, the library, he smiled pushing it open and walking inside the building, “Lucas, are you here?” He called out before someone to the side shushed him.

Lucas leaned against a bookcase looking down at a history book in his hands. He looked up adjusting his glasses when he heard someone call his name. “Yes, I’m over here.” He laughed softly, putting his book away.

Viren walked over and pulled off his hood.

Lucas smiled, “Surprising to see you in a place like this.”

“Oh shush, I asked your mother where you’d be. She asked me to get you.”

Lucas nodded, “Of course she did.” he nodded and looked over Viren’s outfit, surprised it wasn’t all black, “Was she the one who made you wear that purple vest?”

“Yes, she said it couldn’t always be acceptable to wear completely black when I wasn’t attending a funeral. She even complained that sometimes my eyes look black, and not blue.”

Lucas nodded softly laughing, ”Honestly she acts like you’re her son sometimes.”

“Oh, I don’t believe I could ever replace you, L.”

Lucas nodded and sighed, “Did she tell you?”

“Tell me what? Is something wrong.” He asked tilting his head, “You’re not dying are you?”

“V, I’m not dying. Calm your nerves, for once.”

“That’s quite impossible, L. But what is it I wasn’t told?”

Lucas sighed, “We’re leaving… Tomorrow.”

“Well, how far are you going? I could probably visit.”

“Viren… ugh I can’t believe nobody told you sooner, you’re my closest friend… Umm we’re going across the sea, the ship leaves tomorrow.”

“You’re leaving me… and you didn’t tell me?”

“I’m sorry, V. Forgive me, at least spend today with me.”

“No… no… I should go, you need to head home. Like I said before, your mother requested you.” Viren shook his head pulling his hood back on walking away.

Lucas watched him walk away and sighed looking down, he had already known he would lose his friend… but he hoped he wouldn’t actually lose him.

Viren woke up in the morning and sighed before he remembered, Lucas… he was leaving today… leaving after a fight. Viren instantly got up and dressed himself before running out of his house.

Viren ran down street after street before pausing looking at the florist shop. He went inside and got a few flowers, hopefully to help Logan forgive him.

Virgil went and finished running to the docks on the other side of town, he was too late. He saw the ship leaving the dock and a distance away by now. He sighed leaning against a fence stopping anyone from falling into the water as he watched the ship.

Lucas got onto the ship earlier in the morning a bit solemnly. He had waited for a while, stalling the inevitable of getting on the ship. Hoping Viren would come, but he didn’t.

Eventually Lucas had to get on, the ship was taking off soon. He got on and looked out back to the mainland once on board. He ruined their friendship… he lost Viren. Lucas rested his head on the railing of the ship as it left the dock, leaving.

Lucas looked up, watching the mainland fade, his chest hurt… as if he had lost someone… he realized, he didn’t just find Viren as a great friend… he loved him.

Suddenly the ship shook a bit.

Lucas looked around and stepped back from the edge.

Then, there was an explosion from within the ship, it was beginning to sink.

The area where Lucas had been standing collapsed causing him to fall a few floors below, passing out when he impacted the floor.

The ship began to sink, not even a full mile from the docks.

Viren lifted up his head when he heard people screaming around him, he then looked out. There was a ship sinking. “Lucas!” He screamed out. He ran down the docks, the ship sinking more and fast.

Viren ran to the end of one of the piers and dropped the bouquet as he watched the ship sink the rest of the way. He realized he couldn’t lose Lucas… he loved him… he realized he always had.

Viren’s hopes rose when he saw rowboats coming back over with survivors. Viren smiled then gasped as he felt pain in his side. He looked down, seeing a knife in his side and someone standing behind him. “Wha-” Viren gasped out then felt the knife shoved in further before it was ripped out before he was shoved into the water. Viren fell in, bleeding out, and losing consciousness.

The two dying the moment they realized their love for each other, to repeat the process in every life they lived.

____________

Logan continued staring at him, “Honestly, I feel like I’ve met you before… or at least seen you.” he said softly. Not even realized he was still holding the other’s hand. “Oh! I’m sorry. I’m Logan.” he said realized he didn’t introduce himself.

The other laughed before pausing looking that they were still holding hands and he slowly pulled his hand away, “Hmm, you do seem really familiar… I’m Virgil.”

Logan nodded smiling, “Well it’s nice to meet you, Virgil. Maybe we’ll see each other again.”

“Maybe we will.” Virgil nodded smiling back.

“Well, I should get going. Have a nice day.” Logan said and finished grabbing all of his books.

Virgil nodded and handed him one of the books, “You too.” he nodded and watched as Logan walked away down the street.

Notes:

Note: If it isn’t clear, Logan is Lucas, Virgil is Viren, and that is one of their past lives

Chapter 7: Day 7 | Tracking Balloon

Summary:

Prompt: Free Day

Logan goes to a convention with Virgil and has Virgil wear a balloon around his wrist so he doesn’t lose him... then he loses him

Notes:

Chapter Warnings: Panic Attack

Chapter Text

Virgil stared at Logan as the other tied a balloon to his wrist, “Logan… What is this for?” he asked, smiling.

“It’s so I don’t lose you, there are many people here, but not everyone has a black balloon tied to their wrist.” Logan grinned.

“Well we probably won’t be separated, now come on.”

Logan rolled his eyes and held Virgil’s hand walking into the convention with him.

Virgil looked around seeing how there were actually tons of people. The place was pretty crowded.

Logan grinned, “Hey! Let’s look at that table over there.”

Virgil nodded, “Sure, nerd… Honestly I should be worried about losing you here, it’s nerd heaven.” He joked.

Logan laughed, “Yeah whatever.” he nodded walking over to the stand.

Virgil laughed following.

Virgil sighed looking around, He had just had Logan a minute ago… but he disappeared. Virgil looked around and pushed himself away from the crowd, breathing heavily as he started panicking. He looked up at the balloon, still flying in the sky attached to his wrist.

Virgil pressed his back up to a wall wrapping his arms around himself, just focusing on breathing.

Logan laughed, “Isn’t this so cool Vir-” Logan looked and realized his hand was empty. He looked around himself not seeing his boyfriend anywhere near him. He lost him… he knew he would… but he had hoped it wouldn’t actually happen.

Logan looked up and pushed himself to stand on a chair for higher ground. He looked around until he saw it, the black balloon.

Logan jumped off the chair and ran, pushing himself through the crowd. He kept pushing through, getting closer to the balloon.

He finally finished pushing through and saw Virgil leaning against a wall. Logan went over and pulled him into a hug, “I found you.” he whispered.

Virgil gasped when he was hugged but felt he was in familiar arms and relaxed, he hid his face in Logan’s shoulder crying. “I was so scared… I lost you.” he whispered.

Logan nodded holding him close then put one arm around Virgil guiding him through the crowd to the doors, “Lets go home.”

“But… wha-what about the convention?”

“It’s going on all week, don’t worry.”

Virgil nodded leaving with him. He paused when they were outside then pulled Logan over to a vendor stationed outside and bought another black balloon, tying it to Logan’s wrist. “So I don’t lose you.”

“I’ll never lose you again.” Logan nodded and kissed his cheek smiling.
