Five figures walked in the 118 firehouse four looking downright exhausted and ready to collapsed any second.
"come on guys I taught you were happy to come here, isn't that the reason I had sneak you guys away while your mom was resting?"
"We know uncle" one of the smaller figure begin, what they don't like us, what if HE don't like us" another continue. We're just really nervous and really want him to like us, love us I guess we are just scared he wont accept us another said.
"Guys, listen your dad love your mom more than life its self there's nothing in this world that would stop him from loving you four never forget that ok?" "Then if he loved us so much why weren't there for us all that time?"
"Can I help you?" they all turn around to see a man looks like the captain of 118, looking at them rather suspiciously.
"seriously" the older of the 5 thought what can four exhausted brat and worn and tear exhausted firefighter do, like come on" he was having a inner monologue he forget to answer the captain until he felt someone tugging on his shirt, looking down he saw that it was one of his nephew. "What's up brat"
"Umm uncle you forgot to answer the man" he scratch the back of his nervously and turn to the captain and said "where are my manners, holding out his hand for a handshake, my name is Tk Strand from 126 down in Texas nice to meet you"
"oh, I'm Bobby captain of 118". Not to sound rude, but can i ask what the reason you're here?
" not to sound rude he said" one of the kids grumble, the duck his head with a blush when he notice everyone looking at him.
"Yeah sorry about that, we are looking for Eddie Diaz"
That confuse Bobby more why were they looking for Eddie he thought and "why are you guys looking for him".
"Please can you let us see our dad. Now that threw him in a loop "DAD , did she just say DAD as in Father' fuck he's having a nervous break down, but he really want to see this.
"Come on let me take you to him" Bobby said with a smile, and they return it with a exhausted one.
"Diaz! You have some visitors" he shouted as they walked up the stairs to the loft, as they reach they saw everyone there looking at them with curios gaze and try not to feel shy under the sudden attention, after all they are use to it from the 126 station in Texas where their mom and uncle tk work.
"TK! man what are you doing all the way here in L.A.? Got tired of Texas? Eddie chuckled and brought him in for a hug.
"Eddie man its good to see you too, hey do mind if we sit down? it has been a long journey and we are exhausted.
"Sure man sit and you too sweetie pies" Hen coos. just as they sat down TK phone ring, fishing out his phone from his pocket he saw the caller i.d a paled. Turning to look at the kids and said "Its your mom and we are so screwed". steeling his nerves and answer while putting the phone speaker.
"Hello"
"TK STRAND, ISABEL MADALINE ATHENA DIAZ, MATTEO CHRISTOPHER DIAZ, EDMUNDO ROBERT DIAZ AND MICHEAL HOWARD DIAZ WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS" ! all the shouting stop replace by retched coughing.
"Buck" "Mom"
"I'm fine". Now i ask you guys a question, where the hell are you guys?
"UMM"
"Well"
"You see"
"Hmm"
Only one of the kids remain quiet observing everyone in the loft, faces full of shock realization and of course his favourite, his dad face run from shock, hope, and pure love. Hmm well that's a shock if there is one, he was snap out of his thoughts by another yell.
"I asked for answer not whatever excuses you guys are planning to come up, ANSWERS". And another fit of coughing. Holding out his hand for the phone one of the boys took it.
"Mother" his voice soft and gentle "its Edmundo i know you're angry and unhappy, but please stop shouting, think about your health mom, we know you dont approve of leaving without you knowing and worrying you, but this is something my siblings and I have to do. I really hope you can understand". the line was quiet and everyone waited with bated breath to hear what he was going to say the there was a sigh.
"Ok. But at least tell me where you guys are" don't I deserve to know where my 4 kids are? who 7 years old by the way".
"We are in Los Angles"
"L.A.!? Are you kids out of your god gone mind? Who the hell put you guys up to this? Its TK isn..
"MOTHER"! a shout cut him off. "Its not uncle TK fault, we wanted to come here to meet our father mother. We saw you looking at some of his pictures on Instagram with our older brother and crying about how much you miss them". pausing taking running his eyes across the room eyes stopping on his siblings and the is dad who a look of devastation, love and is that tears? "I know its less than pleasing but don't we deserve a father like everyone else or know the love of a father?"
The line was silent then he heard his mom said" but aren't I both to you guys? is my love not enough for you guys, isn't the 126 love enough, aren't we all your family"? there was a pause and then "I don't understand", Why are you so much like your dad?
He chuckled "well you always said I was all my dad down to the way i bottled my emotions". and its no lie he was the splitting image of Eddie, "We promise we are safe but we have to go, ok?
there was a sigh then a quiet "ok".
Then he and his siblings said goodbye and hang up.
He turned around and sigh looking at all the curious gazes and surprising new faces that he didn't even notice came by. He's wondering where he should start with this tale, hes angry, so very angry, sad and a bit depress. These are the people his mom loved so much yet still they turn their back on him the first chance they got, mistreated him and threat him like a maid in this place, even his father didn't even stand up for him who does that and yet still i cant understand why mom still love them especially their dad he sigh again "what a pain" he thought.
"sorry" he said with an apologetic shrug. "as you can guess we are children of Eddie and Buck, when were born seven years ago and were 5 but 1 of us did not make it past 72 hours". He then looked at his siblings and his uncle wondering what's going with them.
TK then took over and said" why don't we all sit down and talk", as you can all guess buck is in Texas and yes these are his kids. The reason why we are here is because the kids wanted to get to know their dad and big brother as well as the other half of their mom family, but after everything that happen in this station honestly I just wanna grab them and go back to Texas and pretend nothing happen like a dream. But it's their choice and I respect it that why we are here so before you all ask your questions he then turn to the kids and said why don't you guys introduce yourselves to your father and your family hmm".
I'm Edmundo Diaz the oldest"
I'm Micheal Diaz the second"
I'm Matteo DIaz the third"
"and I'm Isabel Madeline Athena Diaz the youngest and cutest" everyone laugh at that ease the tension by a lot good job Isabel" they thought.
Isabel walked over to where he was sitting, standing infront of him then just sitting in his lap turn and look at him. He looked like he's on the verge of crying she then took her small hands and hold his face and said" We love you even though we have never met you, do you know why"? she asked. Eddie shook his head at that, " because mom said so, when he thinks we are sleeping when hes tucking us in for the night he would say your dad is the love of my life and I know he love you guys with all his heart even though he don't know about you guys so even though you haven't meet him as yet love him as though he was right her tucking you in looking at you with proud smiles and all the love his heart can give cause i know hes a strong man with all the love in the world to give his babies, whatever you do every achievement you get he's proud of you and love you so much so give him all that love back good night my babies. so we know you love us already and we also love you". she finished
