Roy came home from the office, after hanging his military jacket up on a hook near the door. “Ed? Are you home?” He called out. He got an answer of silence, as he took off his boots and set them down next to an identical pair. Okay, so Ed was home, maybe he just didn’t hear me, Roy thought. He ventured further into the house they shared and started looking for Ed.
Ed was sitting at his desk with papers of arrays scattered about, along with a varied selection of alchemy texts. He was staring at the flame of a candle that sat in the middle of his desk. Apparently oblivious to everything else around him, especially anyone that may be calling his name.
Roy smiled as he found his lover in the study. He noticed he was staring at the candle, and walked over to him. He put his arms around him from behind, and whispered into his ear. “What are you looking at, Ed?”
Ed smiled, and whispered back. “The flame, it reminds me of you.”
