“Gojo-sensei!” Yelled Yuuji as he rushes towards the fallen figure.
The entirety of the first years and their teacher had been called a few hours earlier to the mission site; a presently abandoned mall. A few windows had reported sighting of a strange curse wandering around, and though it was deemed harmless and third grade at most, something strange happened just as they exorcised it.
The curse, in its last dying moments, aimed its mouth towards Gojo and spat out a strange pink mist at him, and despite his fully activated infinite, was somehow hit. Coughing loudly from inhalation of the smoke, the first years all aimed their heads towards him, worried at the sudden affliction. And then, suddenly with a pop, he disappeared. Or so they believed. But upon rushing towards the pile of clothes they thought was left behind, Yuuji quickly found a small figure buried under the large clothes.
“G-Gojo-sensei?” Yuuji stuttered, holding his hands a few inches from the small child, resisting the urge to hold onto him, unsure if he would cause any more damage.
The small Gojo looked up at him, blindfold slipping off his small head as hair fell down to cover his forehead, large iridescent blue eyes present and striking. The small version of his sensei looked at himself and his overflowing clothes for a moment, expression blank as he calculatingly took in the situation.
Unused to anything but the joyous nature of Gojo, Yuuji became more worried. “Gojo-sensei are you alright? Oh my gosh, you’re so small. Was it a de-aging mist or something?! Do you remember anything?! Are you hurt?!” Panicking, Yuuji fluttered around with flailing arms trying to check Gojo for any injuries he might have sustained. A sharp pull of his collar from Megumi quickly sent him back.
“Oi, leave the brat alone, would you. He looks fine.” Megumi sternly says, placating Yuuji.
Stepping from behind them, Nobara leaned down to Gojo’s height and asked, “You good kid? Do you remember anything?” Gentle and caring, she put on a seemingly ‘older sister’ vibe. Behind her, Megumi scrunched his face up in disgust at her uncharacteristic tone while Yuuji looked at her with his mouth agape in pure confusion.
Ignoring the idiocy of the boys behind her she repeated the question.
Gojo shook his head to respond ‘no’. Clinging onto his still too large shirt, he dashed towards Yuuji, clutching at the teenage boy’s sleeves and turned watering blue eyes towards him. Ignoring the sound of Nobara’s indignant ‘geh’ behind him, he raised his arms toward Yuuji.
Yuuji’s heart was struck at the sight before him. If adult Gojo was attractive and handsome, kid Gojo was the epitome of cuteness. Big round blue eyes glittered up at him, and unable to resist the cute site, his lips wobbled a little as he picked up his newly transformed sensei.
The moment he got the boy settled on his hips, Gojo wrapped his legs tightly around Yuuji’s waist and buried his face into the teen’s neck. Yuuji replied by tightening his hold on the boy, patting him softly as he gave comforting words of ‘your safe’ and ‘it’s okay’.
Normally Yuuji wasn’t one to dote on kids. Rather, he was pretty awkward with them, but it was different this time. The child in his arms wasn’t just a random kid. It was his precious Gojo-sensei.
Looking at the sight were Megumi and Nobara, who both gave equal looks of distaste towards Gojo.
Nudging the boy next to her, Nobara asks, “Was Gojo always this clingy, even in his youth?” Lips twisting into a scowl as Gojo rubbed his face further into Yuuji’s neck.
Crossing his arms, Megumi disgruntedly replied, “I only knew him from up to his teens, but if it makes you feel any better, he was an annoying brat then too.”
They both simultaneously sighed.
“Let’s just take him to Shoko-san.”
“Agreed.”
“Will he be okay?” Yuuji asked Shoko, concerned for the boy sitting in his lap.
“It’ll wear off by itself in a few days at most. Looking at him, he’s perfectly healthy asides from-” Shoko paused, turning around from her tinkling to look at Gojo. They stared at each other for a few seconds before she continued “-his memory problem.”
Yuuji turned his worrying gaze towards Gojo, a small sad frown evident on his face. “You must be really scared,” he gently says, taking a hold of Gojo’s hand. The smaller boy squeezed the hand tighter, a bright smile on his face as he snuggled deeper into Yuuji’s chest. “But don’t worry, you’ll be safe here with Shoko-san.”
Twisting their heads sharply, both Gojo and Shoko stared aghast at the smiling teenager. Snickering could be heard in the corner where Megumi and Nobara sat, wounds having been attended to earlier. Tilting his head at the strange atmosphere, Yuuji gave a cute hum of interest.
Shaking off her mortification, Shoko turned back to Yuuji. “I can’t.” She sharply says. “I have other matters to attend to, plus it looks like he’s more comfortable with you.” To emphasize her point, Gojo twisted around from his place in Yuuji’s lap, tearfully gazing at him.
“Please Yuuji! Let me stay with you! I’m scared,” he cried, dramatically throwing himself into Yuuji’s arms as he clung to him tightly.
Feeling bad for the distraught child, Yuuji wraps his arms around Gojo and hugs him. Looking at Shoko who nods back at him, he replies, “Shh, it’s okay Gojo-san. Since Shoko-san said it was okay, I can take you with me!” Smiling brightly to emphasize his point.
“Call me Satoru!” the little boy whined, puffy and pouting, his tears now dried.
Yuuji nods enthusiastically. “Hm! Satoru-kun!”
Gojo squealed, digging himself deeper into Yuuji’s hold, rubbing his cheeks against the older boy who energetically did the same.
BAM!
The sound of Kugisaki slamming her hands down on the table caused Gojo and Yuuji to look up at her from their embrace. “Oh hell no you brat!” Crossing her arms and walking towards them, she glared down at Gojo. “Don’t go bothering Yuuji. Be a good boy and stay with Principal Yaga or something. You wouldn’t want to bother Yuuji would you? Plus your hella creepy .” Mumbling under her breath so that only Megumi could hear.
Nodding from beside her, Megumi added his own opinions. “You should stay with the Principal. Who knows when Sukuna might come out,” he cooly stated, a hint of annoyance on his face.
Both knew that there was something odd about the de-aged Gojo, and if they could help it they would make sure that he didn’t go anywhere near Yuuji.
Pursing his lips in anger, Gojo threw his hands up into fists and yelled, “I’m strong! If anything comes out, I’ll beat them to a pulp!” Gasping at the sudden realization of his words, Gojo clamped his hands over his mouth.
Cackling in delight, Nobara grinned wickedly. “What’s this? You’ll beat him to a pulp? Then I guess you’re not scared and can stay away from Yuuji, hm?” Megumi nodded from beside her, backing her up.
Their plan immediately falls apart when Gojo suddenly bursts out into tears, loudly wailing. “Y-Yuuji! They’re bwullying me!” He lisps, shoving his teary wide eyes towards the teen.
Yuuji gasped at the boy, heart clenching at the young Gojo’s distraught. Glaring at his friends, he picked Gojo up in his arms and twisted away. “You guys are so cruel! You shouldn’t bully him just cause he’s younger! In fact, it’s even worse since he’s so young! Can’t you see you’re scaring him,” he says, pouting his lips and shattering the hearts of both Megumi and Nobara who could only stand still, mouth open in shock. “I’ll be taking care of him anyways!”
Leaving his friends behind in the infirmary, Yuuji makes a trek to his room. Due to the position of Gojo in his arms, he failed to notice the younger boy sticking his tongue out at his devastated friends, taunting them for their failures. He didn’t miss the cries of anger that followed thereafter though.
Smiling at the boy in his arms, Yuuji became a little worried. “Oh no...we should really find some clothes for you,” he said to Gojo who was still only wrapped up in his older self’s jacket.
Smiling brightly, Gojo was unconcerned. “It’s okay! We can go to my house and find something,” he gleefully exclaimed, rummaging in his jacket pocket and pulling out a house key. “Older me won’t mind if we cut up a shirt or two. Plus we can buy some later with my card!”
Bewildered at the sudden development, Yuuji couldn’t help but ask. “How did you know that you live outside the school?”
Not surprised Gojo replied, “Please. If I know older me, I know that he would have a place by himself.” Patting Yuuji’s cheek he continued, “I don’t remember the address though, do you Yuuji?”
Yuuji replied by shaking his head. He didn’t know exactly where Gojo lived aside from the one with his basement, but he was sure that there was someone who did. “I don’t know, but I bet Ijichi-san does!” His careful strides turning into a quick jog, jostling the boy in his arms.
Shocked from the sudden jolt, Gojo gave a loud yelp as Yuuji ran. The shock was short lived as Yuuji laughed brightly, tinkering like chimes in the wind. Giggling at the sight, Gojo added his own laughter into Yuuji’s. By the time they got to Ijichi, they were both bright red and panting from their excessive laughter.
It wasn’t hard to convince Ijichi to drive them to Gojo’s place which ended up being a rather luxurious penthouse a few miles away from the school. Settling in was rather easy too, as Gojo easily settled in, finding himself a shirt he fashioned as a dress.
Yuuji took the time Gojo took showering to prepare them both a late dinner. Gojo had initially suggested that they take a bath together, whining that “It would be quicker if we just went in together!” Yuuji didn’t exactly feel very comfortable sharing a bath with anybody else and was almost about to relent to Gojo’s pleas. Luckily, a few moments before he was just about to give up, Gojo relented to his idea of cooking dinner as the boy showers.
Dinner was a leisure affair. Despite Gojo’s memory loss the two of them still connected fairly well, maintaining their usual chatter as Gojo praised Yuuji, and Yuuji to Gojo.
As Yuuji began preparing for bed in the guest bedroom, he was hastily dragged by Gojo to his room instead.
“Yuuji~” Gojo whined, pouting as he tugged on Yuuji’s sleeves(a t-shirt he borrowed from Gojo’s closet along with some slacks; they were a little long, but would do). “You can’t leave me alone, Yuuji~ What if something happens when you’re gone?” Sniffling slightly, he continued to drag Yuuji onto his bed.
“Oh, Satoru…” Yuuji felt bad for the poor boy. He had lost his memories and despite trying to appear comfortable, was still, for the most part, scared of the new and strange situation he was in. He didn’t resist when Gojo laid him on his bed; taking to laying on his sides instead. Opening his arms towards the younger boy, he beckoned him closer.
Gasping loudly in awe, Gojo took a step forward, turned around, flicked the light switch off, and ran back towards Yuuji. Jumping onto the bed and bouncing lightly, he crawled into Yuuji’s arms.
With the lights turned off, the only source of light was the shine of the moon beaming through the curtains of the windows, illuminating Yuuji’s bright eyes and soft smile. Blushing at the sight, Gojo settled himself further into Yuuji’s arms, throwing a leg over the boy’s stomach and hugging him tighter.
Yuuji chuckled at the cute display of affection, shifting them to a more comfortable position and cuddling into Gojo tighter.
“Goodnight, Satoru-kun,” Yuuji murmured into Gojo’s hair. It smelled like him. Grown or small, it looked like Gojo-sensei would always be the same to Yuuji.
“Goodnight, Yuuji,” the boy replied, breathing in Yuuji’s scent as he nodded off to the sound of the teen’s heartbeat.
Shoko stared at the boy sitting in front of her, headache building.
“So…” she began,
“When are you going to tell the poor kid that you never forgot anything to begin with?”
“Never~ (っ˘ω˘ς )”
