Chapter Text

Tommy ran, his tattered boots pounding on the asphalt, he threw a glance over his shoulder to see if he was still being followed. He seemed to have lost them. Good, that meant he could go home.

Tubbo was asleep on the couch as he entered their small one-bedroom apartment. He had obviously tried to wait up for Tommy and the blonde felt a stab of guilt as he realised how worried his friend must have been. It was gone midnight now, he'd promised to be back by eight.

Removing his gaze from his best friend, he found a plate of pizza on the side. Tubbo had cooked him dinner, like he always did. Tommy was lucky he had him, no one else would put up with him after all. He contemplated this as he scarfed down the food Tubbo had left for him, before going back to the couch and shaking his friend awake. Tubbo glanced up at him, bleary-eyed.

"Tommy! Where were you!" Tommy staggered back at the force of Tubbo throwing himself into his arms. "I was worried about you man."

"I'm sorry Tubs, they were following me again." Tommy muttered, resting his tired head against Tubbos shoulder.

"Did, did they follow you home?" Tubbo asked, Tommy shook his head.

"No, no I lost them." He assured his friend. Tubbo sighed in relief.

"That's good." He nodded.

"C'mon Tubs, I'm tired." Tommy wriggled out of his friends grasp and pulled him into their room after him. The bedroom of their apartment was small, and they barely managed to fit their two small twin beds in the room, but they managed it, and they managed to fit in a small dresser in the corner to store their clothes, it was all they needed really.

Tommy dumped his friend onto his bed and headed to the bathroom, Tubbo was asleep when he got back. He smiled at his friend and went to the window, just to check.

A familiar curly-haired figure was stood under the lamp light on the pavement opposite their apartment building. Tommy sighed, he glanced at Tubbo again, grabbed his keys and headed outside.

"Wilbur?" Tommy called out to the man, who hurried across the road.

"Tommy! How are you? How's Tubbo?" Wilbur hugged him, and Tommy had to hug him back. He'd missed his old friend, Wilbur had a habit of disappearing, and Tommy never really sure when the next time he was going to see him would be.

"We're fine Will, both of us." Tommy nodded. "So where've you been?"

"Oh you know." Wilbur shook the question off, grinning at the teen in front of him. "But I met a few friends I really want you to meet Tommy. They're excited to meet you as well."

"Will, I'd love to meet your friends." Tommy said, and he meant it, he liked to see Wilbur happy and these friends seemed to do that.

"Great, why don't we go now?" Wilbur took his hand and was about to move when Tommy stopped him.

"Will." He sighed. "I want to meet your friends, honestly I do. But I can't leave Tubbo right now."

"Go and wake him up, he can come too!" Wilbur said chirpily.

"Will, no not tonight." Tommy shook his head. "Tomorrow maybe? I'll meet you here at six?"
"Okay Tommy, send my love to Tubbo okay?" Wilbur hugged him again. "Just you tomorrow okay? You know how skittish Tubbo gets around new people."

Tommy nodded. He knew Tubbo would be fine with it, Wilbur was more his friend than Tubbo's, but he still felt bad about it. "See you tomorrow Wilbur."

"Bye kiddo." Wilbur laughed, before disappearing into the darkness of the street, leaving the teen stood alone.

Tommy sighed and headed back up to their apartment, awakening Tubbo slightly as he opened the door to their bedroom.

"Hey Tubso, can I stay with you tonight?" Tommy asked, Tubbo just nodded and opened his arms, allowing Tommy to tuck himself into his best friends arms. Tubbo wrapped the duvet around them and snuggled his head into Tommy's shoulder.

"You okay Tommy?" Tubbo mumbled, Tommy nodded.

"Yeah, yeah. Thanks Tubbo."
