    Wei Wuxian realizes that, perhaps, when they have fights – the incense burner should stay unlit.

     

    It starts with a forbidden and dangerous adventure with the juniors that ends up with Lan Wangji receiving five lashes from the discipline whip on their behalf, causing a fight between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji.

    This creates a pandemonium when they leave the incense burner lit up as they go to sleep, which transports an apparition of the current Wei Wuxian back to witness that fateful day when Lan Wangji returned with A-Yuan from Burial Mounds and received his punishment of thirty-three whips, and the day when Lan Wangji has given A-Yuan his courtesy name after Wei Wuxian has died.

    husband sighs and closes the door behind him. “Wei Ying, you went into a village where three of our disciples died recently. Two of GusuLan’s best junior disciples also tagged along despite Uncle’s warning.”

     

    WWX interrupts the punishment

    He screams. “It displeases my heart! Five has you writhing in pain, what more of the thirty three you received for me years ago? I’m upset at your clan, for raising you in an environment where you would receive such punishment while trying to hold it in and healing on your own. I’m upset at you for being self-sacrificing. I’m upset at myself because you keep on getting hurt to protect me!” He ends up on the floor, beside his husband.

    Lan Wangji strokes his eyelid and thumbs away a tear. “Wei Ying, don’t cry.”

    “Then promise me you would never do this kind of thing again.”

    A pause then a resolute, “No.”

    I’m so sorry,” He wails, crying on his husband’s lap, wanting to feel the texture of robes, needing to know that he’s truly awake. “I’m so sorry for my words, Lan Zhan,” He chokes out, holding onto Lan Wangji’s forearms. “I just hate seeing you in pain. I never doubt you, I never do. You’ve done nothing wrong. You’ve done nothing but love me. And if I was in your place, I would have done the same. I’m just really stupid when it comes to you. I love you, I love you, I love you so much.

    JL plans to improve his reputation

    Ch 1 . He turns toward the bed, and yelps when he sees Wei Wuxian already sitting there.

    “I promise I didn’t look,” Wei Wuxian says lightly. “Though I wanted to. I’m very curious what you might have to offer that could tempt a Lan to break the rules.”

    The attack on his physique (he’s still growing, he’s almost caught up to Sizhui now, not that it matters anymore) is easily ignored, and Jin Ling studies the face of the man who almost was his uncle. It’s always hard to say what Wei Wuxian is thinking, especially when he’s putting on what Jin Ling privately calls his idiot face, as he does now. All Jin Ling knows for sure is that the other man doesn’t believe that he raped Sizhui, or else he’d be dead already.

     

    You're not helping!"

    At last, Wei Wuxian turns to face him, with an expression of surprise that looks so fake, Jin Ling wants to hit him.

    "I wasn't aware I was supposed to help you," he says. "You do remember that you ravished my son , right?"

    Jin Ling glares at him, even as he feels his face flush in embarrassment. He forgets sometimes that, technically, Sizhui is also Wei Wuxian's son. He's so sweet and serious and pretty, everything a Lan should be, it's hard to remember anyone but Lan Wangji has a claim on him.

    Ch 2 was not forced,” Lan Wangji whispers.

    It should be good news to know his son hasn’t been hurt that way, but the implications that it brings are unbearable.

    Wei Wuxian doesn’t see that, of course, and he instantly relaxes. Lan Wangji could almost hate him for it.

    “Oh, that’s great then,” Wei Wuxian exclaims, resuming his nervous pacing. “I didn’t think Jin Ling would… he’s an idiot but he’s not cruel. I had been thinking they looked a little sweet on each other lately. Hey, Lan Zhan, didn’t I say recently I’d love to finally be invited to a real wedding?”

    Refusing to listen to another word, Lan Wangji lunges ahead to do what he’s been asked to do. Wei Wuxian follows, babbling on about who to invite and where to have the ceremony. Lan Wangji ignores him until they arrive at the door or their healer.

    “No wedding,” he says, knocking on the door.

    Wei Wuxian gives him a curious look, but remains silent as Lan Wangji explains the healer that her presence is requested in Lan Qiren office after an incident.

    “Of course. What’s the nature of the incident? Is it serious?”

    “An omega caught in fault.”

     

    Ch 3 you sure?” Lan Wangji asks.

    Sizhui stares at his father, shocked that he would side with the elders on this. Soon anger replaces that shock. Lan Wangji taught him to never lie, but apparently that ‘never’ means ‘not unless it’s somewhat inconvenient to the Lan Sect, in which

    Because he can see Wei Wuxian’s state. Red eyes over dark bags that say he hasn’t slept well since this started. Still wearing the same clothes he had on when he discovered his son and nephew together, which means he hasn’t gone home in all that time. It’s easy to guess than Lan Wangji is in a similar state. Sizhui is upset at his father, more than words could ever say, but he knows him and he knows what it’ll do to him to lose Wei Wuxian. He’s seen it before, even if he was too young to understand what caused that grief. He can’t allow for that to happen again.

    Honestly, I left it vague because both options were equally worthy to me. It's easy to make Lan Qiren a villain, but Shizhui's actions also brought damage to the sect reputation so... I'd say pick your favourite option? 😉

    J 1 Fight

    Ch 2 He’s become lonely. Spending most of his days in near seclusion and being unable to do anything fun in fear of harming the baby, there’s hardly anything to do or anyone to talk to. Lan XiChen promised to talk to the elders but they haven’t spoken since and the “Wei WuXian Rules” still gleam on the side of the mountain. Sect leader or not, Lan XiChen can’t change the opinions of the elders who Wei WuXian himself ruined his reputation for.

     Yep.. and let's be real, LXC really doesn't exactly like WWX so it's only for the baby and WY won't be delusional that his husband's family likes him even though they also don't take into account the situation WY was in and just blame him *sigh*

    I feel sad how his sad comments are being brushed off here? He even thinks his own baby doesn't like him

    Ch 4 This infuriates Lan QiRen. “You cannot just saunter into this sect and change things to how you like them! You are not one of us, you will never be one of us, so why should your words be the ruling??”

    Wei WuXian didn’t back down. “Because he is my son and shouldn’t be taught to be ashamed of me!”

    “Anything he is taught of you, you brought on yourself! You are just as thick-headed as you always were.”

    “I wasn’t thick-headed, I was different, and you hated that ! Why is it so wrong for anyone to think differently from you?! Everyone here in this sect is so single-minded, it’s more like a prison than anything else!!! So what if I want to eat spices or walk quickly-- I was just a child back when we met and you immediately singled me out because of something I had no control over, something my mom did before I was even born. You made me feel like I was nothing! And you’re gonna try to do the same fucking thing to my son, make him feel like there’s something wrong with him for wanting to be a child and play , you will force shame into him, make him ashamed to be my son— and that will only happen over my dead body!”

    Lan QiRen finally exploded. “You say all of this, but you are just as powerless as you were back then! This child is a Lan, he belongs to this Sect, and he will follow its rules. There is nothing you can do about it! But I warmly invite you, Wei WuXian, to leave! Get out of our hair once and for all! All you do is make our lives miserable and continue to ruin WangJi’s! He had a chance at being something great before you came along, but you have tainted him-- ruined him--”

     

    WWX doesn't feel that it would be right to ask L to leave

    Why should his child grow up hating him because of biased rules, biased history and others opinions? I'd be worried too. Lotus Pier is a much healthier environment all the way around. Wei Wuxian might have married into the Lan

     Ch 5 ease, WangJi, I am not suggesting a divorce. It is simply difficult to understand what he wants to do. He cannot expect the hospitality he receives here to hold up forever, can he? He will either have to rejoin or leave, he cannot be a permanent guest…”

    Ch 6 Wei WuXian back in his life, Jiang Cheng cannot deny the fact that he feels incredibly guilty just by simply acknowledging him, so no, things could never be great between them. Even if Jin Ling doesn’t mind, Wei WuXian is the reason that boy’s parents are dead, and here he is, uncle of this

     

    Maybe it’s wrong to think that way, but he still harbors a strong bitterness towards people he should’ve forgiven long ago. But forgiveness doesn’t come easily to him, no matter how hard he tries. There have been many pleasant days with Wei WuXian this summer, but in the back of his mind, a reminder of who might have still been alive had it not been for Wei WuXian’s doings plagues him.

    Ch 10 Despite having long since cutting ties with Wei WuXian, Sect Leader Jiang had a particular attachment to my nephew. It was during that time that he decided to consider this child his adopted nephew, despite still keeping his distance from Wei WuXian. He did not attend the celebrations for my nephew’s first birthday, but he had been in attendance every year since, and my nephew regularly spends portions of his summers in Yunmeng. As I have said before, the relationship with the Yunmeng Jiang Sect were steadily increasing due to this.

You would rather wait until our dear father is dead and burnt to marry me, rather than facing his wrath in life.” Aenys stuck one pointed finger into his chest, “And so allow me to make this clear for you, my dear Maegor: you will either have me now, with Fathers blessing upon our union, or you will not have me at all.”

    Aenys takes one grand, deliberate step back, letting his arms fall to his sides and the voluptuous fabric of his sleeves be swallowed by the equally large swarth of his skirts. A sweet omegan scent envelops the air around him, and Maegor cannot help the satisfied smirk that begins to burgeon upon his lips. Aenys is as sweet as sugared seeds, but the luxuries of being the kings precious omegan son have surely rubbed into him like oil onto skin.

    Aenys cared for Septa Genevieve far more than she deserved, Maegor thought. Always tending to her needs, taking luncheon with her when she demanded it, even going so far as to sit with her in that dreary sept. He truly was a sweet creature, his Aenys. It was the reason why the courtiers adored him so - not only for being the king's favoured omegan son - and why the smallfolk revered him. Perhaps he cared too much. Perhaps he was too sweet. It mattered not to Maegor. He could be cruel enough for both of them.

    “No.” His mother said simply, “He did not.”

    The slopes of his face, that which Maegor had mapped with his lips, remained the same. Wide, lilac eyes set into unblemished, pale skin. A pink bow on petal lips, and a soft curve to his elegant jaw. Cheeks that dimple upon seeing Maegor, pearlescent teeth emerging from those pink lips in a great smile.

    “My dear brother,” he whispers, voice as soft as the summer breeze, “my dear Maegor. You have finally returned to me.”
