I actually started as a k-pop idol! After my group disbanded, I moved to the US and started producing music full time, both for myself and other artists.

The best advice I have is probably to look into promotions, if you're releasing music on your own without a label. Look into what opportunities you have to get your music played!

felixlee This is how it started. Han, Seungmin & Hyunjin had been in the same class since elementary school, and we became good friends when I moved to korea near the end of middle school. They were all so nice to me, and luckily, they all knew english so we could talk to each other while I was learning korean. I am so grateful to them, and I love them so much. Then I met Hyunjin, Seungmin & Felix through Han, and I met I.N through Chris, because he was tutoring him at the time. Minho and I were in the same class. Somehow, all 8 of us started having lunch together and became close friends. All my best memories from my school years are with these guys. Of course we had other friends, but this group of 8 is what it always came back to. We'll always stay with each other (part 2/8)

We all came back to Korea for Hyunjin's and Jeongin's graduation though. By then, my group had disbanded, but I was signing with an american label as a producer and was moving to the US soon. Hyunjin was also moving there for model gigs, and he also started vlogging around this time (part 4/8)

hyunjinhwang I never publicly talked about how I was friends with the youtuber Lixie, or the actor Lee Minho, or any of the others, but we stayed in touch. Me, Chris, Seungmin and I.N were all in the US, so we met up regularly, and I've actually been living with Seungmin. We didn't mention each other publicly, as we were all doing our own things, but we never drifted apart. Physically, we were in different places, but our group chat was still blowing up with memes at 2 am every night. Our friendship changed, but only for the better (part 5/8)

Minho said he was going to the US for an audition, and after talking some more about it, Lix & Changbin also decided to come to the US, and here we are, back together again. To the people following us, it might not feel much like a reunion since you never knew about our friendship, but to us, this has been a long time coming. Now that we all live in the same city, you'll definitely see us together more often, and that's why we're exposing our friendship now. (part 7/8)

Meanwhile, my brain completely misses some things that should be painful which leads to more injuries... like that time I walked around on a broken toe 🙃
