Chapter Text
Warmth, Marinette was snuggled in between her blankets. Ready to unwind after the unusually hard day she had. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes just on the verge of sleep, but was interrupted by the thumb on her balcony. Startled, she jumped out of her bed and grabbed the closest weapon she could find. Chat noir stopped visiting a while ago, and she wasn’t expecting late-night company. She took a deeper breath and poked her head out onto the balcony.
Chat laid there beat up, his staff was still extended and laid right beside him. “Chat!” She rushed onto the balcony and turned him over into her lap. His face was bruised badly he was barely conscious. She felt down his abdomen and felt the warmth of blood surfacing.
“Hey, hey wake up chat. We gotta get you inside.” He groaned but got up to his feet as Marinette helped him. “Careful” she whispered as he began going down the trap door. She followed behind him and went to grab her first kit from the restroom. This wasn’t anything new to her. Marinette was always the person chat would come to whenever he was hurt during the patrol, but they were never this bad.
She crawled up to her bed and sat beside him taking his hand into hers. “You’re going to have to take your miraculous off.. that’s the only way I’ll be able to treat that wound.”
“I can’t do that.”
“Well, then we need to get you to a hospital so they can sew that up.”
He grabbed her hand and looked down at her frantically. “No hospitals.”
She sighed and squeezed his hand, “do you trust me ?” He nodded his head and squeezed hers back. “Then let me help you... your secret is safe with me chat.”
“Yeah... okay.” He took a deep breath and slid his ring off. She watched as he de-transformed. Nervous to look at his torso then slowly guided her eyes to his face.
It felt like everything around her had frozen in time, and she felt consumed with love and anger. But now wasn’t the time for any of that. She took a deep breath and opened her kit, pulling out one of her sewing needles. It was nowhere near the medical equipment needed, and she had no idea what she was doing. But he trusted her and she had a steady hand so it would have to make due.
She cleaned his wound with a cloth and a water, dabbing gently to avoid pain.
she cleaned the needle with some alcohol and thread the needle through looking up at Adrien for confirmation. He nodded letting her know it was okay so she began. Sewing material felt nothing like sewing human flesh. She heard him groaned and looked at him then back to the wound.
“Who did this to you ?”
“I don’t get a good look at their faces.”
She pulled the needle through five more times then covered it with a bandage. Moving onto his face. She used the cloth to wipe the blood off his face. Her gaze stopped at his lips, where she starred a little longer than she should’ve. She looked away and closed her first aid kit. Tossing it onto her bed.
“You should probably stay here for the night, you’re not in any condition to go home.. take the bed it’s more comfortable than the futon.”
“Marinette I didn’t want it to be like this.”
“I get it.. and you don’t have to worry your secret is safe with me.” She headed over to the futon, Turing the lights out on her way. She laid down and snuggled into her blanket wanting nothing more than to cry herself to sleep.
“So that’s why he stopped visiting.” She thought to herself.
