Nicole finds herself hiding against her neck for a moment.
“You don't mind?” she whispers.
Waverly’s grip around her tightens. “Not even a little bit.”
The relief comes back again, because there's a kind of nervousness to it, really.
Like there’s a room in her body with a door she’s been eyeing off for a while but hasn’t ever opened, and now Waverly’s going through it with her even though they have no clue what’s on the other side.
