train

Summary:

For every one that looked, Aone is a big, serious, too quiet to be real, scary-looking dude. For every one that believed in appearances more than anything else, is a bad idea to get involved with him. For stupid people, is important to keep their distance from him as if he is a germ, especially in public. That's why the seats on both sides of Aone were empty, even when the train is full. Because most people prefer to stand up and complain about seats because they judge by appearances.

Lucky for Aone (or maybe not so much) you weren't like most people.

Notes:

English is not my first language. Aone is cool.

Work Text:

For every one that looked, Aone is a big, serious, too quiet to be real, scary-looking dude. For every one that believed in appearances more than anything else, is a bad idea to get involved with him. For stupid people, is important to keep their distance from him as if he is a germ, especially in public. That's why the seats on both sides of Aone were empty, even when the train is full. Because most people prefer to stand up and complain about seats because they judge by appearances.

Lucky for Aone (or maybe not so much) you weren't like most people.

You were tired. Working as a nurse and having weird shifts where you knew the entrance time but not the out one, is both nasty and exhausting, but you major it in college and you like to help people even if you suffered later.

Today you had a very long night shift and you were barely alive. Your tired eyes and posture said a lot but the way you walked and how anxious you were to get home said more. The only thing that is making you feel a little better is that you only have to take the train to get home, something that you appreciated even when you were almost sure that you were going to fall asleep on it like always.

When the metal line of boxes stopped in front of you and you saw through the door how packed the train is, you almost cursed. A packed train meant no seats and you were feeling like if you didn't seat down soon, you'll fall.

But, to your surprise, while you got on the train, you found a couple of empty seats beside a big, blonde and rigid serious man. He has working boots, a bag, and construction work clothes, but even if he is sitting straight and is looking like any normal person (maybe he looks a little scary with that serious look) no one is near him. Like if he is a bad thing or the seats beside him aren't empty.

Your sleep-deprived mind doesn't understand why but she thanks the judgmental people in the train because you have now a secured seat. Without warning, you walk to him and look at him with the friendliest face you can do since you're practically a zombie.

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?", you ask, pointing to the yellow chair at his right.

His eyes look at you for a few seconds like he is confused, almost shocked. Like he is totally surprised that you even dare to ask him something. To say that you're confused because of his confused face is a total understanding.

"Is not taken", he answers suddenly, his voice deep and quiet, like he is not used to talking.

Slowly you nod and without losing time, you seat next to him, letting out a relieved sigh once you do it. Aone gives you a shy and quick look but when the train starts to move, he returns to look at whatever he was looking at before you came.

The train is in chaos since is early in the morning and everyone is on their way to work or school. Even with all the noise, you get comfortable in the plastic chair (something not quite possibly but again, you're sleepy), hug your bag, and tell yourself that you will close your eyes for a second or two before arriving home.

Is a lie, of course, since not ten seconds later, your head is hanging because you fell asleep. Your tired body moves, trying to lean onto something but it doesn't work until it collides with a steady and warm arm.

Aone, who was hyperventilating because you sat beside him, is now on the verge of a heart attack. He is not used to people sitting next to him because his appearance makes him scary or whatever, but you didn't appear to care about that and that made him nervous. And now that your head is leaning on his arm, he is even more nervous. Swallowing, he dares to move to see that you are dead asleep (snoring and drooling included) and when he sees your nurse uniform, he understands.

He looks ahead again, blushing a little and feeling like a fool at the same time. He is not very good with people, but since you're tired and he isn't an asshole, he thinks that he will allow you to sleep in his arm until his stop arrives.

His stops arrive too fast for his liking. Usually, he doesn't like the train because it makes him feel lonely and rejected but today, was different because you were there. Sleep, but still there.

Carefully, Aone pokes you in the arm, until you wake up suddenly, feeling both disoriented and agitated. After blinking a few times and looking at the blonde man beside you, you calm down. When you look at how uncomfortable he looks and when you feel saliva in your cheek, you realize what the hell you just did.

"I'm very sorry for falling asleep on you", you're embarrassed, and you bow repeatedly and so fast that Aone must stop you because he is scared you'll hurt yourself.

"Is okay", he says and when he realizes that he is touching you, his eyes go wide, and he lets you go with a blush on his face.

"Did you lose your stop because of me? I can repay you with something".

"My stop is this one", he says, and you hear the voice announcing the next stop.

"Okay but I will like to apologize", you insist and Aone is standing (he looks even scarier now) to say that is not necessary when you get a pen out of your bag and grab his hand.

Aone is having a full heart attack now and is too surprised to even move while you write your number in his hand.

"Call me when you have free time so I can repay you", you explain once you finish. He blinks at you, not finding words.

"Okay", is all he says at the end, before turning around and leaving before he can lose his stop.

He doesn't look back at you. He simply looks at his hand like he hasn't seen it before. And when he arrives at work even his coworkers know something is up.

"Is Aone smiling?"

He is. Is little and very unlike him but is there.
