Atsushi knew this was a stupid idea. He knew it. Akutagawa had given him this key for emergencies only and Atsushi still had no idea why. I mean sure they were partners and this was a precaution but still, Akutagawa was never one for pleasantries.
So ya, maybe he was in front of Akutagawa’s friggin penthouse at 2 AM, fiddling with the key in his hand and trying to figure out what to do.
A noise from inside the apartment stopped him in his tracks and he froze. He gripped the key harder, digging it into his palm as he strained his ears to see if he could hear anything else.
Silence loomed over him and Atsushi was nearly leaning on the door with how hard he was trying to hear. 'Just one more noise and I’ll just go home,' he thought, balling his hands into fists.
