Work Text:

The thing with Kaeya, when he was alone, he had no impulse control. No voice in the back of his head saying "Don't run to Dragonspine in the middle of the night!", and so he was doing it. Albedo and Childe had been away for too long and Kaeya was done.

Thats how they ended up in the freezing cold of Dragonspine, searching for Albedo's camp. Nothing else. Kaeya had not gotten lost if you think that you are WRONG so WRONG Kaeya does not get lost. Kaeya has never been lost and never will. They were merely searching for the love of their life in Dragonspine to take them home. Simply taking a longer route. A long journey was nothing for Kaeya, but the problem with Albedo's camp was that it was at the top of the mountain. Kaeya was at the bottom. The poor traveler would have to deal with healing up Kaeya later, but that was a problem for later. For now, he was dead set on reaching Albedo. However, the 7-mile journey up the mountain would not be fun. At all. Not one bit. So Kaeya ventured deeper, with nothing but a pack of food, a box of matches, a warming bottle, and the immense desire for a kiss.

While Kaeya was taking this hike, Albedo was on a ledge a few yards from his camp, just up the hill. The alchemist in question was (unsurprisingly, if you don't mind me saying) thinking of their knight in shining armor. What a funny relationship, a prince and his two knights. Albedo truly, if not for a better word, loved his boyfriends. Not as if a homunculus could love, though. As chalk cannot truly feel what feelings are, neither can Albe. It is like asking a simple wooden toy to describe pain and anguish. Inanimate objects cannot feel, and Albedo was about as inanimate as one could get. Albedo wished to feel more. She needed more work and more love and more feeling. They just wanted to understand the feelings Childe and Kaeya had. The sheer emotion they felt. Lost in waves of wonder and mystery.

Kaeya, on the other hand, was simply lost. He'd followed the signs perfectly and yet, the tent where Albedo resided was missing in action. Not one to worry, Kaeya kept going. He wasn't in the least concerned for Albedo or worried he'd die alone of sheer cold nope! Nope nope nope nope. Maybe if Childe were here, he'd make a joke about a cryo user getting cold. Childe always made trips like this much easier. Running into a warm figure, Kaeya blinked and noticed familiar blonde hair.

"Kaeya? What are you-" Albedo was cut off with an oof, as Kaeya tossed her over their shoulder and started running down the mountain. Albedo started wriggling and pounding on his knight's back.

"KAEYA! KAEYA, PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT. I HAVE WORK TO DO KAEYA." Albedo squirmed in Kaeya's grip, but Kaeya kept them secure.

"Albedo, you've been on this mountain for two months," Kaeya whined, "I haven't been able to kiss you in so long! I haven't been kissed in two MONTHS Albedo. Not since Childe left for her mission and you left for Dragonspine! Please, oh pretty please can I take you back? Klee misses you too."

Albedo sighed and gave Kaeya a kiss on the cheek.

"I suppose my work can wait a few extra days... but only for you and Klee, dearest." Kaeya blushed with the use of dear and continued down the mountain, likely preparing to terrorize his sister.
