It was greener back home, in a way more genuine. They were all very real trees, and grass, and vines, and all, but every piece of it isn’t actually real. They were not there, and then, they were. There was no sapling peeking out of the earth, vying for the sun. No child to crawl upon the bark as the branches reach upward towards the sky. No picking of fruit, no falling of leaves, no blossoms, no blooms. It makes her feel a bit disgusted, really, even now, ten years later. It’s not natural. None of it is.
The mad girl from District 8 returns to the Capitol for round two. She will not return home alive.

Jason’s sure that no one’s told him that since he was found at the Grand Canyon. No one’s given him comforting words like this, not Piper, not Leo. Not anyone.
“Maybe.”
“I remember it,” Jason furrows his brows. He tries to think back when he first heard the words that Nico just said, where he heard the first call that became an echo. Jason rubs his eyes; a headache might be coming his way from trying to think that hard about things he can’t possibly remember. “Gods, I wish I could remember it.”
Nico nods, but he’s frowning.
“I wish you could too.”

“Ah,” muttered out Mydei as he watched the scene play outside the window. A pair dancing together, both beaming at each other despite the rain. And whilst this could be seen as a blessed sight of the local town sweethearts, it tore a hole into his heart. Who would have thought he would finally realise the role that Phainon played in his life a year after Cyrene arrived in their town. By then it already felt like it was too late.
So he was left inside the manor to watch them frolic about.
