Work Text:
“Hey! Jisung! Over here.” Changbin shouted from across the courtyard.
Jisung turned around with a smile, walking towards Changbin with a wave.
Sadly, he got about halfway to the other side when all of a sudden his foot slid from under him and threw him to the ground.
Jisung laid on the ground in agony as he hears Changbin erupt into a fit of laughter.
Of course, there would be a piece of ice right in his pathway, not like he was trying to impress his crush or anything.
Changbin giggled as Jisung pulled himself off the ground. Honestly, Jisung looked adorable all red and covered in snow, and Changbin couldn’t help but smile as Jisung grumbled about his outfit being messed up.
“Hey Ji, you okay there?”
Jisung blushed and continued wiping his clothes off.
“I’m fine. That stupid ice got in my way.”
The Ravenclaw smiled at Jisung before ushering him towards the crowd.
“Come on, Ji, let’s not get left behind.”
Jisung continued to reprimand himself for the fall earlier while Changbin remained quiet, not knowing what to say and instead opting to throw glances at Jisung.
He still wasn’t sure if they were on a date or not, but it’s not like he could just ask. It couldn’t hurt to try a more subtle approach though.
Changbin waited for the perfect moment when Jisung’s hand swung right in the exact position to move his hand closer. Their hands grazed for a split second, Changbin
pulling in for more only to be met with air as Jisung flinched away.
Was this not a date? Did he read the signs wrong? Was this ever meant to be a date?
-
The silence finally ended as they reached Madam Puddifoot’s tea shop, currently filled with all the couples in the school.
Why would Jisung take him here? Isn’t this known as the couples cafe?
Jisung didn’t seem bothered by all the couples though, he just pulled Changbin towards a table in the back and began scanning the menu.
“There’s a lot of couples here today.” Changbin pointed out, glancing nervously around the shop.
Jisung laughed at this before glancing up.
“Yeah, it’s not known as the couple’s cafe for nothing.”
So he was aware that this was known as a date location.
“We kinda seem like the odd ones out if you ask me.”
Jisung thought for a second before speaking up.
“No, I think we fit right in.”
-
After that, the tension began to fade away. The two talked non-stop as they waited for their stuff to arrive and even continued to talk when it came.
Jisung had finally begun to calm himself from his previous embarrassment and Changbin seemed less tense than earlier. But of course, all good things must come to
an end.
Jisung had become too preoccupied with staring at his crush to notice that his cup was on the verge of spilling. All it took was one small knock for it to go flying onto
his hoodie.
Oh no, why must this happen? Hasn’t there been enough embarrassment?
Unlike Jisung’s last slip-up, Changbin doesn’t laugh this time. As soon as the tea hits Jisung’s sweatshirt, Changbin is out of his seat and grabbing his jacket.
“Here, take my jacket. It’ll be cold without your sweatshirt.”
“T-thank you.”
Jisung didn’t know what to say. He thought for sure Changbin would laugh at him, but all he saw on the other boy's face was concern.
“Are you okay? Was it hot? Did it burn you?”
Jisung laughed at Changbin's frantic questions.
“I’m okay, Bin. It didn’t hurt.”
Changbin relaxed as Jisung slipped his jacket on.
“Thank you again. For your jacket.”
“Of course. How rude would I be to just let you freeze after a spill like that?”
Jisung smiled at Changbin, letting go of his horrible attempt at a joke.
“Okay let’s go somewhere else. It’s starting to get crowded.”
-
The two walked side by side on their way to Zonko’s joke shop, Jisung’s choice.
Soon enough, they reached the shop. The store was less filled with couples and more young kids wanting to pull pranks on their friends. Yep, this was Jisung’s store.
Jisung seemed in his element with his face lighting up as he saw the new gadgets Zonko had put out. toys.
They stood in comfortable silence for the majority of the time, too busy observing the new items. But that was until Jisung found one he wanted Jisung to try.
“Hey, Bin. Try this! Zonko said it’s normal. I promise.”
Sadly for Changbin, he hadn’t noticed as Jisung crossed his finger’s behind his back.
“You better not be lying, Jisung.”
Despite his weariness, he grabbed the candy anyways, plopping it into his mouth.
“Wow, this actually tastes really good-” Hiccup.
Uh oh.
Jisung began laughing at the helpless boy, holding up a box.
Hiccough Sweets, the box read. Hiccuping candy?
“I knew I shouldn’t have-” Hiccup.
“Trusted you.”
“I hate-” Hiccup.
“You.”
Changbin watched as the younger boy burst into another fit of laughter, clinging onto his side.
“Come on, let’s go stop those hiccups.”
-
After Jisung had hauled a hiccuping Changbin into the Three Broomsticks and forced him to chug a Butter Beer, the hiccups finally stopped.
“Finally.” Jisung joked.
“Hey, you’re the one that caused it.” Although his voice held no hint of annoyance.
“Come on. Admit it was funny.”
“Fine, but I’ll make sure to get you next time.”
Jisung froze for a second. Next time? So he didn’t totally ruin any chance of a second date?
“Okay, only if you can figure out a way to fool me.”
-
“Are you cold, Bin?”
Changbin snapped out of his dazed state, staring at jisung in confusion before looking at his own arms.
“Oh. A bit, yeah. I guess I didn’t notice.”
Jisung frowned, grabbing the jacket that was wrapped around his shoulders, only to be stopped by Changbin.
“No, keep it on. You’ll get cold too.”
“I don’t want you to be cold either.”
Changbin just chuckled, tugging the jacket around Jisung.
“I’m okay as long as you’re warm.”
Damn that smile, Jisung thought.
“Then at least let me hold your hand. You know to keep you warm?”
‘Yeah right. You know it’s just to hold his hand.’ Jisung internally scrutinized.
“O-okay.”
Jisung smiled and grabbed Changbin’s hand, entangling their fingers in the process.
‘Does this mean he likes me? Or is he really just doing it because he feels bad about wearing my jacket?'
Jisung doesn’t give Changbin much time to think though, dragging him into Honeydukes.
-
“Hey, Ji look at this!” Changbin yelled, gaining the attention of the other students in the process.
“Whoops. Anyways look, they finally have more Blood Pops in stock.”
“You’re disgusting.”
Changbin glared at the other boy.
“It’s not for me, idiot. I was gonna see if I could trick Chan into eating it.”
“He won’t fall for that. No way.”
“Oh really? Wanna bet?”
Changbin was confident that he could get his friend to eat the Blood Pop. I mean he is Chan, after all, he’s too trusting.
“Okay. Loser has to eat one then.” Jisung said, outstretching his hand.
Changbin gleefully takes his hand. There’s no way he was gonna lose.
“Deal.”
-
The two finished up in Honeydukes shortly after their bet, only grabbing a few more sweets to eat before heading back to Hogwarts.
Once they had walked past the majority of the shops, Jisung decided to take them on a detour.
Jisung grabbed hold of the other’s hand, dragging him towards a secluded area where they could watch the snowfall.
The snow was beautiful, definitely the best weather at Hogwarts, but Changbin was too busy admiring Jisung to be looking at all of that.
Meanwhile, Jisung had been struggling to open his box for his chocolate frog for about a minute now, with no sign of progress.
Changbin laughed, grabbing the box and opening it without struggle.
Jisung looked at Changbin in awe before hiding his face in embarrassment.
“I hope I didn’t embarrass myself too much to make you not want a second date.”
Date? So it was a date?
“Wait so you meant for this to be a date?” Changbin questioned.
Jisung froze at that moment.
Did Changbin think this was a friend thing?
“Um well you see, I kinda asked you out on a date, but it’s fine if you don’t want that. Let’s just forget I even mentioned that…” Jisung spit out, hardly taking
a second to breathe.
“No!”
Changbin blurts before whispering an apology and continuing.
“I wanted this to be a date, I was just not sure if you meant for it to be one. The whole time I was panicking because I wasn’t sure.”
“Really? I was just worried that you would think I was too embarrassing. I mean look how many mistakes I made today.”
Changbin chuckled, grabbing his hand.
“Oh come on, it’s cute. And I’ve embarrassed myself as well!”
Jisung visibly relaxes, laughing along.
“Of course, the Hiccup sweets! Best part of the day.”
“That and the time I tried to grab your hand and you flinched.”
Changbin cringed at the memory.
Jisung didn’t seem to know what he was talking about though, shooting him a confused look.
“You seriously don’t remember?”
Jisung shook his head.
“It was when we were on our way to Hogsmeade, you had just fallen and it was awkwardly silent. I wanted to see how you would react.”
It was silent for a second before Jisung erupted into laughter.
“I wasn’t trying to deny you. I was too busy sulking at my fall. I honestly didn’t even notice you tried that.”
Jisung paused for a second before speaking again.
“I mean, if you did it now though, I most definitely would not flinch.”
It didn’t take long for Changbin to catch on to the fact that Jisung wanted to hold his hand, intertwining their fingers.
“I can’t believe we both spent the whole day panicking.”
Jisung playfully scoffed.
“I can. We’re idiots.”
-
When the two finally arrived back at the school a wave of disappointment ran through them.
“I don’t want this day to end,” Jisung whined, causing students to look over.
“Me neither, but we can always go on another next time.”
Jisung beamed at the suggestion.
“Yes! Let’s do this next time too! Minus all the panic.”
“As if you’ll panic less next time.”
Changbin took this as his opportunity to escape, not wanting to deal with Jisung’s wrath.
“Hey! Get back here, I’m not done with you!”
Bonus:
“Ha! I told you he would fall for it.”
As expected, Changbin and Jisung went through with their bet, and no surprise, Changbin had won. Chan took the lollipop without question, only stopping when he
realized it tasted a bit funny.
Jisung groaned. He really didn’t wanna eat the Blood Pop.
“Not fair, you probably paid him.”
Changbin scoffed at his boyfriend.
“No, I didn’t you liar. Now open up. Chan says it’s not so bad anyways.”
Jisung hesitantly took the lollipop out of Changbin’s hand, waiting a second before putting it in his mouth.
The second the flavor reached his tongue, Jisung gagged and took it out of his mouth coughing.
Of course, Changbin found his distaste humorous, practically rolling on the floor laughing.
“It’s not funny! Taste it, here.”
“Nope, a bets a bet. Sorry babe.”
Jisung pouted at his boyfriend.
“I knew I shouldn’t have bet against a cheater.”
Changbin playfully rolled his eyes at Jisung.
“Quit your whining you sore loser.”
Jisung smirked. Uh oh.
“Only if you give me a kiss.”
Oh. Not as bad as he thought.
“Fine. Only one.”
Changbin pressed his lips against the Gryffindor, only to be met with the bitter taste of blood.
Jisung had rubbed the pop against his lips, letting the flavor coat them.
“Ew, Jisung! You’re the one that wanted a kiss!”
Jisung giggled, taking the chance to run away before Changbin attacked him.
“Hey! Get back here, you cheater!”
