Chapter Text
Disappear..
Maybe that will help everyone? Many times did the Radiance told him to leave and that she was there before him but he didn't really listen did he? Instead he just continued to do his thing and build his kingdom in a place that was already taken.
She didn't hurt the bugs that were here before him, not even the Root nor the newcomers that came to seek advice and those that like moths were just drawn to her light.
But it's not like he took her followers on purpose.. They just wanted to have a mind to think, will to break out of her hold, they had voice to cry suffering as they couldn't decide between the mind and dreams.
Whoever wanted worshipped him and who didn't want to just didn't do so, he didn't force any of them to come to him.
He sighted and left the unfinished kingmould that he was working on and put on his grey cloak with the hood. It wouldn't do much to hide him but it was better than nothing.
The Pale King walked out of his workshop and looked to the left of the hall.
Should he go see her? At least this last time..?
He couldn't.. The longer he was here the less amount of time had his kingdom. He let out a sad sight before he just started walking out of the white palace.
It took him quiet a bit to get to the door and to get the kingmoulds and servants to not follow him but once done he started making his way to the howling cliffs.
~Big skipu here ~
After finding a strange corpse of a large bug and trying everything in his power to do something with it he was about to give up before he remembered about the dreamnail that he got from one of his moth followers.
He dreamnailed the corpse and something happened as red dream catchers seemed to come out of it before they disappeared in red smoke.
He sighted and returned to the room that he was in before. The torch was now lit. He started striking the brazier at the foot of the torch multiple times before the flame of the torch practically seemed to explode.
Multiples torches lit up as the cave that he was in started to shake. The Pale king quickly walked out of it and made his way back to Dirtmouth.
As expected, in there were already tents of the the Grimm Troupe. He ignored the bugs that looked at him and made his way inside one of the tents.
No one other than him was let inside.
He ignored the bug along the way called Brumm if he remembered correctly and walked straight to the stage.
Immediately red smoke appeared as Grimm bowed before him, then he straightened up and his red eyes landed on the Pale king.
"So, it was you who called us. Well met, my friend. Well met." there was no need for introduction as the two knew each other far too well. "The lantern has been lit, and your summons heeded. A fine stage you choose, this kingdom fallowed by worm and root-"
"Grimm. I didn't light the lantern to take part in the ritual. I would like to... join your Troupe."
Being a part of the troupe would mean that he would need to travel with it between kingdoms and realms but at the same time it gave hope of coming back here and checking in on everyone that he left behind one day.
Maybe.. Just maybe he will be able to convince the nightmare heart to help him defeat the Radiance.
Even tho Grimm couldn't smirk the Pale king could swear that he saw him do that.
"Well then Worm. I would be more than happy to welcome you into it, but. First the joining ritual must be done. You didn't think that one can just join like that did you?"
The Pale king didn't like how it sounded but if this is the only way of saving his kingdom then be it.
Disappear and the kingdom will be saved. Leave everything behind and travel with the Nightmare Heart.
No cost too great.
