Chapter Text
There isn’t much that impress Corpse anymore. He has been on god’s green earth for so long, much longer than the longevity of a thrilling life is. It’s the curse that danced around his great powers. They say eternal youth is the culmination of success, huh? Corpse can’t despise people who think that way more than he already does. That’s fucking bullshit. Try to find a deeper meaning to anything when your soul can never be put to rest.
Yet, there’s one last trickle of life left in him : every time you are reborn and blow your 23rd candle, a singular candle lights up on Corpse’s desk. A reminder that the love of his life is still existing through time and history. At first, he doesn’t notice but when the announcement finally reaches his cold skin, it’s the same reaction as always : quivering hands and sore throat, unrequited memories. Why 23, that, Corpse could never tell. I guess magic still works in mysterious ways, even for the one who has seen it all.
Because you have been gone for so long, Corpse can’t remember anything about you; from the waves of your voice to the beauty he once witnessed. There’s still one detail left in his brain. Too bad you’re a faceless youtuber in this present life. Otherwise, Corpse would’ve probably realized by now that this new friend is actually the one he has been searching for centuries.
