    Summary

Cellbit killed ElQuackity two weeks ago. From across the banquet hall, those dead eyes catch his, and his thin lips tip up in a smile, crooked and smug.

ElQuackity holds his gaze from across the room, running a finger around the rim of his champagne flute. His eyes don’t catch the light and he hardly blinks, like his eyes are not eyes at all but a pair of pinhole cameras through which the Federation intently watches Cellbit’s every move. He wears his suit jacket open, dark blue dress shirt popped at the collar, a gold chain glimmering in his clavicle. When Cellbit next inhales, the air is hot and suffocating.

It’s not real. Cellbit tries to convince himself. It’s not real.

ElQuackity will not stay dead. Cellbit spirals.

    Summary

Cellbit was entirely too sleep-deprived to be awake at this time, the ripe hour of 6:20 in the morning, stood on the cold train platform in the drizzling rain as the first train of the day rumbled into the station. All his friends had tried multiple times to get him to find a new job somewhere closer so he could get more than an hour’s sleep a night. The excuse he gave every time his friends stopped by after a shift, only to find him half-asleep on his sofa was, ‘It took me so long to find this job, don’t make me find another one.’

It wasn’t a lie, per se. Cellbit had been unemployed for nearly a solid year before this job hired him. This place was the closest.

While it wasn’t a lie, it wasn’t the whole truth either. See, the other main reason was the stranger who got the same train as him every morning he did, getting on a stop after him and getting off sometime after he did.

    OR

Cellbit has a massive crush on a stranger that catches the same train as him every morning, if only he could just find out his name...

    Summary

Whatever man Cellbit used to be has died somewhere between the receiving end of a switchblade and the silent, blank face of a mobile phone. Time has eroded his sharper edges, laid him bare against the dirt, and yet. And yet, and yet, and yet.

Whatever man Roier used to be is as good as dead. Whoever he once was has seeped into the seat of a train car, left behind somewhere between a week-long vacation and a lifetime. Even when his hands shake, when his voice fails, this is for the better. This is for the better.

    Summary

He had imagined a ring on his finger soon. A carefully carved, cold, gold ring that Cellbit would also be adorning. Something that ties them together like an invisible string, sharing another reminder of their unshakable love, that they’d always be connected.

Roier imagines that invisible string. He watches it whirl around his finger, bend at the wind, cascading down onto the field, where it wraps around Cellbit’s finger. Although it’s invisible and nonexistent, he wants Cellbit to see it, acknowledge it.

Acknowledge that they weren’t doomed to fail from the beginning, just a matter of circumstance. Unfortunate ones at that.

Roier gets stuck in a time loop and has to relive Festa Junina and all the heartache a certain Brazilian brings him.
