Work Text:
I stretched my arms upwards as I look out the window to the left in the lounge. Deep, clean air filled my lungs and slowly escaped as the sun began setting. It was still blue and light out, but in less than 20 minutes, it would be dark. A deep sigh left my lips and I glanced back at the table in front of me covered in Greek, Latin and French translations and various grammar books. Studying for endless hours after all these years can only help the mind, that's what I remind myself when I think I should just sleep. Sleep, for a few hours, for a few days, forever.
I jutted upwards and the force caused my knees to shove into the desk.
A soft chuckle came from next to me, "I didn't mean to scare you, but sleeping in an open area? Never thought I would see the day."
Shaking my head lightly, I replied to Francis, "Don't mock me like this."
Placing his model-like hand gently on his chest with a hurt expression casting his features, he exclaimed joyfully, "Oh! I would never mock ma cherie."
Looking closer at the books he brought, I picked up one for kanji. One quick, questioning glance had Francis stumbling to answer. "I, uh, wanted to pick up another hobby. Ya know, something to do."
I quickly shook my head, "Dude, it's literally finals and your number one hobby is sleep."
Francis dramatically looked hurt before chuckling and gasping through words, "I'm saving it for a friend. I love you and sleep too much to give up time for something else."
My cheeks instantly flushed, still not used to his outbursts of praise and confessions of love. I grabbed a small book and hit him lightly on the air. Picking up my pencil, I began writing where I had left off an hour or so earlier.
Readjusting himself, Francis opened his bookbag and took out his own books.
Like many things, studying didn't keep Francis's attention for long. Soon enough, he began tapping his pencil on the desk. After telling him to knock it off after a bit of time and he quickly apologized, he then starting lightly taping his fingers on the papers and desk as if he was practicing the piano.
I was at my wits-end with him, which does not happen very often but it was finals week and not enough sleep, not enough food, not enough sunlight ruined my mood scale a bit. Sucking in a deep breath, I looked up at him and waited until he glanced at me.
I exhaled, "follow me."

We walked briskly with our bags and coats back to my room, just down the hall. As soon as we walked in, I pushed Francis against the door and our lip met. The kiss was messy and fast, full of teeth and tongue. Once we were both completely out of breath, we pulled apart. Just took a few moments to look at each other.
I inhaled and took a half-step back. "Better?" I questioned my breathless boyfriend.
Nodding fast, Francis was still a bit surprised that I could have the upper hand on him like that. One step ahead of him.
I walked towards my desk and pulled out my books like before. Smiling to himself, Francis threw his bag on the floor and threw himself on the bed. He began looking at me and grinning. I caught his eyes and smiled back before studying again.
Maybe we would survive finals week after all.
