Chapter Text

The sound of waves. The hot sand under her toes. The sun shining with full force on her head.
Usually, she would have enjoyed a sunny day on the beach.
Especially when you've been a long time in the cold from Atlas.
Especially when you're in peace for once in your fucked up life.
Especially when you're Yang Xiao Long whose semblance is literally being hot.
But what's the point of enjoying all of this if she's all on her own? If her teammates think their brawler died? The worst part is: There is no way to come back. She's stuck. Stuck on a strange island for who knows how long. Yang sighs for a second, feeling some of her inner pain going away. There she is. A blond, pitiful, young woman sitting on the surface. Jacket already gone and trousers ripped. Her purple bandana wrapped around the non-mechanic arm. The brawler holds it tight. Inspecting every little fiber with her matching lilac eyes. It somehow reminds Yang of...a certain faunus. Tears forming in the corner of her eyes, horrible flashbacks of the night she fell.
Amber eyes flashing in her mind. The panick expression as the faunus tried to catch her with Gambol Shroud, failing to reach for her. The first time actually if Yang thinks about it. She sighs again but this time she couldn't hold back the tears from falling down. "Dumbass." The blond said to herself. "You did the right thing. You saved Ruby. That's the only thing that matters." Deep down she knew telling herself stuff like this wouldn't change the fact that she did want to go back. Go back to her friends...her family.

A short time after Yang realized she was still alive on this new location, she was actually kinda hoping her friends would come for her. Even if the idea of rescuing someone considered being dead is absolutely ridiculous. Not just ridiculous. It was totally unnecessary. Especially for a person like her. After all there were already a few people who left her. Yang should be...must be used to it. So why the fucking hell is she crying again? It didn't make sense. It didn't make sense at all! The blond punched the ground a few times. Frustrated, ashamed of herself for being such a weakling. She stood up and started to look around. Now is not the time for this. Yang needs to find some food for the evening and go back to her improvised little home. Just some woods and leafs formed to a roof.

She walked for some time around the shore. The young woman managed once to catch a fish. So why not try it again? She walked to an unfamiliar area, hoping to have more luck then yesterday on the now spot. Suddenly she saw something on the ground reflecting the sun beams, now having her full attention. It was only 30 metres away or so.
Yang made her way to the mysterious object. As closer she came, as more her eyes widened. A familiar burnt ribbon attached to it.
