Work Text:
The air in your lungs got violently pressed out as you were slammed onto the floor after you attacked your sensei Gojo Satoru and he only rose his finger for a counterstrike. “Now, come on, Y/N, I win again. It’s getting boring.”, he teased you with that shit-eating grin on his face. “Don’t tell me, you’re already finished.”
That was probably the fifth time he just threw you across the field as if it were nothing. Well, it was nothing for him but the more it was humiliating for you. Of course, training with him was good and your movements have become faster thanks to him but today was a weird day, anyways, since you knew from the first second when you woke up this morning, that this was not going to be your best day. And you were right. Not only did you mess up your own breakfast with accidentally burning your pancakes and spilling over your milk, but you also stumbled your little toe multiple times against very visible furniture and when you were training with Maki-san, carelessness took a toll on you and you managed to break your favorite bracelet Nobara once brought you as a gift from Tokyo. It was a simple black bracelet with your and her initials as little tags hanging from it. Maki-san apologized several times to you, but you told her it was fine and that it was actually your own fault for not putting it of before you started training. Though, you knew that Nobara was going to be disappointed about it.
And to make things worse for you, you were being thrown in every possible direction every time you tried to attack that blue-eyed man who seemed to enjoy this very much, obviously. “I win again.”, he said victoriously and kneeled in front of you to grin at your slightly bruised face. “Woops, sorry, I didn’t mean for you to fall face-first.”
“Sure…”, you said not believing a word and made assumptions to move in a sitting position only to fall back on the ground with a stinging feeling on your back. “Aww, not again.”
“Your back, huh? I told you to go to Shoko if your backpain doesn’t get better.”, he lectured you with an amused undertone in his voice. “Maybe you need a break and a massage.”
“I don’t need a break now, Gojo-sensei!”, you denied and got up groaning, trying to ignore the growing pain. “Another round.”
“No, Y/N, I won’t do that.”
“Since when do you say no to a fight you could easily win?”
“Since I can clearly see that you’re not fine at all. Look at you. All tired eyes, tired posture, tired aura. Hell, looking at you even makes me feel tired and that says a lot.”, you were surprised by his behavior and tilted your head with a puzzled look on your face. “Don’t look at me like that. You know I’m right. Now, as your sensei I tell you to take a break, ya?”
“I don’t need a break!”, before you could speak any further you were on the ground again, groaning in pain and holding the aching spot on your back. “Okay… maybe I do need a break.”
“Told you, see ya later Y/N.”, Gojo laughed, put his hands in his pockets and turned around to probably annoy one of his other students. You were laying there with your aching back, not able to get up because you were so exhausted and finished for this day, and it wasn’t even 5 pm. Gosh, you felt so weak at this moment.
“Fuck my back…”, you cursed and tried to straighten up into a sitting position, after you managed that, you laid your hands as well as you could on the aching spot and tried to massage the tight knots. “Ah!”, you gasped, as the pain only grew worse and you stopped immediately.
“Salmon?”, you heard someone say and turned your head, only to see the blonde boy you could only speak in rice ball ingredients. He held out his hand and looked at you with his caring violet orbs. Gratefully, you took it and let him pull you up on our feet.
“Thanks, Toge-senpai.”, you murmured embarrassed and shook your head sighing. “I swear, my back is killing me someday.”, Toge tilted his head and lifted his hands making fists and relaxing them afterwards, repeating the gesture a couple of times. You understood and smiled softly. “Thanks for the offer for a probably great massage, but I can’t bother your time with these things. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. I wanted to take a break anyways.”
Patting him on the shoulder you walked passed him, heading towards one of the buildings with your dorm in it. That’s what you had in mind if there wasn’t a person standing right behind the corner and you completely crashing into them, the impact causing you to lose your balance and falling backwards on your butt, your back taking its revenge through by delivering a wave of pain throughout your body and you groaned as you felt it all. “I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.”, you managed to say panting and looked up, your heart skipping a beat as you laid your eyes on Megumi, as he was standing in front of you, holding out his hand to you. You felt your cheeks heating up, as you took it and got up with his help.
“It’s fine, Y/N.”, he said blankly. “Are you alright, though? You seem in pain. Did you fall on your hand or something?”
“Ah, n-no. Don’t worry, it’s just my back.”, you stammered and scratched the back of your head. The quick movement of your arm causing another wave of pain streaming through your body, and you winced.
“Again, or still?”
“Still…”, you sighed and shook your head.
“Shouldn’t you go to Shoko, then? It seems serious.”, you were surprised by the genuine concern in his voice.
You shook your head again and waved your hand. “No, she has to take care of really serious injuries. My back is just being a little jerk, it’s nothing.”
“Y/N, it’s been almost two weeks since your back has started to hurt.”
“Yeah, well, things like these happen sometimes.”
“And what happened to your face?”, his index-finger caressed your cheek around the little bruise you gained as Gojo threw you on the floor and you grazed your cheek on the rough ground. Your heart almost exploded as his warm finger touched your irritated skin and you averted your gaze.
“Just some training accident. Nothing too serious, really.”
“I didn’t see you eating lunch today, where were you?”, gosh, you were about to explode.
You stammered: “I-I trained. Forgot to eat, but I’m not hungry anyways… this day really has definitely not been the best.”
Now it was him who tilted his head a little bit and you watched his hair following the movement, then a hint of irritation could be seen in his blue-eyes and he said: “Even if you had the worst day of your life, that’s not a reason to neglect your body like that. You need to eat, Y/N, I told you so many times already.”
“W-Well, I’m sorry?”, you didn’t know what else to say.
“You should be.”, he grumbled and took your wrist, pulling you with him. “We’re going to eat something together, so I can make sure you had a proper meal today.”
“Ah, Megumi, you don’t have to do that, I’m fine!”, you replied, trying to get your wrist out of his grip but it was no use. “I’m not a child.”
“Then, stop behaving like one.”
“You’re not talking to Yuji here.”
“Unfortunately not.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”, you said and finally managed to escape his grip. He turned around to look at you with a bored expression. “Tell me.”
“I can imagine Yuji being dumb enough to forget to eat but not you.”
“Since when do you care, if I eat enough or not?”, you asked and crossed your arms over your chest, ignoring the growing pain in your back.
This question has been stuck in your head since the beginning of this little conversation. You liked him, a lot actually and you would even go as far as to say that you fell in love with him the moment, he had saved you from a Level 2 curse. He said it wasn’t much to him which hurt you, honestly, but from that day you couldn’t stop thinking about him. However, he never really talked to you or even bothered asking you about anything. He just seemed uninterested and you were about to accept the fact that he mostly would never want to have to do anything with you, except fighting curses or training together. It disappointed you, it really did.
The worst part, though, was that Nobara mentioned how Megumi would steal glances at your direction, she even used the words admiring and you had to pull yourself together not to laugh right in her face because you could never imagine Megumi returning your feelings. In the end, though, it was Yuji laughing out loud and saying: “Megumi? And Y/N? I am surprised that he accepts dumbass-me as a friend but falling in love with our little backpain-sunshine? Try again!”, good thing was that Nobara punched him for that comment and he apologized to you.
“I’m not here to discuss this with you.”, he said, getting you out of your thoughts. “So, would you please eat something with me? I don’t have time this whole evening waiting for you to think about it.”
“No.”, was what you responded and you turned around continuing your way to your dorms. “You enjoy your meal, I’m gonna take a nap and try to endure my damn backpain.”
Maybe two or three steps, you didn’t come far when Megumi’s hand grabbed your wrist and holding you in place. A little annoyed, you were about to say something but stopped yourself when you felt him carefully turning you back to him, as if he tried not to stress your back any further.
“Whaaaat?”, you said exhausted and stomped your feet slightly. “Megumiii, I honestly just want to die right now.”
“Is it really that bad?”, his voice was soft again but his expression stayed blank which unsettled you a bit and you looked down, your back almost feeling as if it would break in half any minute. You sighed and shook your head, but he already knew what you were about to say so he interrupted you before you even could take word. “Don’t even dare say it’s nothing. I have an idea.”
“Huh?”
“Come with me.”, was all he said and he pulled you with him, not caring about your complaints.
“What are we doing here?”, you asked him annoyed and took your wrist out of his hand as he loosened his grip around it. “I want to sleep, Megumi.”
The room you were in right now had a lot of shelves, with several bottles standing on them, hanging on the wall. The wooden floor was surprisingly smooth and with lots of imagination it felt like walking on cushion. The smell of cinnamon and vanilla was hanging in the air and you inhaled deeply, humming in satisfaction, almost forgetting about your backpain in this relaxing atmosphere.
In the middle of the room laid a futon that looked like heaven to you. You haven’t touched it yet but you could almost feel already how soft it had to be.
“You can, once your back feels better.”, Megumi interrupted your moment of peace and took a light-blue bottle from the middle shelf on the right wall. “Come on, lay down.”
“What?”
“I said lay down, on the futon.”, he repeated himself and opened the bottle in his hands to smell the substance in it.
“And what do you think you are going to do?”, with a raised eyebrow, you slowly made your way over to the futon and sat down on it, groaning as your back was causing more pain by this movement. “Please tell me you are going to kill me already.”
“You shouldn’t talk like that. It’s not funny nor is it an option for me.”, the dark-haired boy said and came back to you, looking at you with expectations. “I said lay down.”
“Why, though?”
“Because I want to massage your back so you stop crying about it.”
“I’m not crying about it!”
“You are right now.”
“I’m not!”
“You are!”
“No!”
“Yes!”
“Absolutely not!”
“Will you, please, just do as I say?”, he snapped and shook his head. “Seriously, even Yuji isn’t such a brat.”
“Oh, don’t you compare me to this dumbass.”, you crossed your arms and looked away from him, pouting. “I’m not a brat.”
“Y/N…”, the way he said your name had your face blushing and you lowed your head. “I just don’t want you to feel as much pain as you feel right now.”
“For a massage I need to take of my shirt and I am not doing that in front of you and I don’t need a massage, I need to sleep and I need chocolate and I need my warm bed and there is no way I am going to- Aaawww!”, your whole ranting was gone as you felt a wet snout nuzzling your neck from behind and another on your right arm. Your eyes lit up the moment they looked on Megumi’s black and white divine dogs he just summoned and you laid your hands on the face of the black one, scratching its ears and nuzzling your face in its soft fur while the white one sat itself behind you on the futon, laying its head on your leg. “Baaabyy.”
Megumi shook his head, a little smile on his lips as he also sat behind you, setting the bottle on the floor beside him. While you were shaking the left forepaw of the black wolf, completely distracted by that puppy, Megumi laid his strong hands on your back and immediately felt the hard knots in it. He looked at you to make sure you are not paying attention to him, then he began to move his fingers with pressure through your shirt and worked on losing the knots on your back.
“Ow, ow, that hurts.”, you sobbed and buried your face back into the dog’s fur.
“I know you are pretty tense, too.”, he said softly and put more pressure on your back. “Just try to relax, okay?”
“I’m trying.”
“Don’t you want you lay down?”
“And stop scratching the good boy’s ears? Hell no!”, you shook your head and scratched both its ears. It let its tongue hang out from the side of its mouth and growled in satisfaction. Suddenly the white dog felt neglected, so it stood up and walked in front of you, putting its head on the side of the black one, pushing it away from you and sitting down, waiting for its turn of receiving ear-scratching. You laughed a little and did what it expected. The white dog closed its eyes and nestled its head in your palms, growling. “Soo cute.”
“You know, you are the only one who they let touch them like that.”, Megumi admitted and worked his way down your back, massaging every knot he could find. “I was really surprised when instead of attacking you in training, they just sat down in front of you and wanted to be pet.”
“Oh, yeah, I remember.”, you smiled. “You blamed me for having done something to them but I didn’t.”
“I still find it very confusing.”
“Me too. Owww!”
“Sorry, that’s a very big knot here.”
“What is that bottle there, anyways? Massage oil? You picked it up, the moment we entered this room.”, you asked looking behind you and regretting it immediately as the upper part of your back started aching again. Megumi slapped the back of your head slightly and said: “Don’t move your head like that.”
“Okay, okay.”
“It’s not massage oil, it’s a warming lotion. I think your back needs a lot of warmth now. If I may put it on your back, the lotion will warm up and help you relax. It’s really effective.”, he paused for a moment and stopped his hands from moving. “And… I made it.”
“You made it?”, you were surprised and caressed the belly of the white wolf that was laying on its back wagging its tail, while the black dog was laying beside you, looking jealously at its sibling receiving so much love from you.
Megumi nodded and was glad that you couldn’t see him blushing. “Yeah…”
“When?”
“Uh… when your backpain didn’t go away three days after it occurred.”
“Hold on, you made it for me?”, you asked hopefully and felt your heart beating faster, the two divine dogs looking at you with tilted heads.
“Of course not just for you.”, he immediately said, crushing your hopes a little bit. “Just in case I should get sore after training…”
“Oh…”, he could almost feel the disappointment spreading through you and his heart was stinging slightly. “Well, when did you learn to make these?”
“I just started it, but it looks like I’m a natural.”
“Can you show me sometime? That way you don’t need to waste more of yours for me.”
“It’s not waste, when it helps your back.”, he said. “So, do you want me to put it on your back or not?”
“Y-Yeah… okay, but can you… like… you know, turn around?”, you stammered, your face getting hotter if it was even possible.
He nodded and you heard him turning his back to you and you pulled your black shirt over your head. “Lay down, if you feel comfortable.”, you heard him say and, even though your back hurt like hell in that moment, you managed to lay on your stomach, your arms crossed on the futon with your head laying on them. The two dogs immediately following your little shifting, the black one nuzzling your cheek and laying beside your head, while the white one stayed where it was.
“Okay…”, you whispered shakingly.
“Alright, then…”, he stopped short and looked at your bare back with wide eyes and suddenly felt like an idiot. “Well… now I know why your back hasn’t gotten any better.”
“Huh?”, you asked and turned your face to look at him. “What do you mean?”
“You have a lot of bruised and black marks, what have you been doing the last few weeks?”, the irritation in his voice was not to be misheard. “Really, you should take care of yourself.”, he took the bottle and opened it, getting some of the warming lotion on his hand. “May I?”
“Sure, thanks, Megumi.”, you said and buried your face in your arms, trying to escape this little embarrassing moment and control your face from getting any hotter. It almost felt as if you were about to explode.
The lotion itself was a little cool, causing goosebumps creeping over your body, but your heartbeat increased when you felt how warm his hands were. The contrast almost broke you and you had to pull it all together not to sigh too loud. His hands were massaging the lower part of you back which ached the most and you were so thankful that he had loosened some knots before he worked with the lotion. But you were wondering when it would warm up as he promised.
“Ow.”, you winced when he found another tight knot in your back and started putting more pressure on this spot.
“Go to Shoko tomorrow, okay?”, he put another amount of lotion on his hands and continued with kneading the upper part on your back. “Promise?”
“Come on, Megumi, it’s not that bad.”, you tried to assure him and lifted your head a little to look at the black dog beside you. It growled satisfied when it felt your hand scratching its ears again.
“Please.”
Your eyes widened at this soft plea of his and you felt a little pressure inside your nose, not bothering your mind with it, though. “Okay…”
“Good.”
Moments of silence followed, guided by the soft growls of Megumi’s divine dogs that were now both laying on each side of your head, receiving head-scratches. “Say, Megumi. After that can we both go outside and play with those fluffy, precious, wonderful dogs?
“These are shikigamis and normally not here for playing around.”
“Please.”
“Let’s see how your back feels after I got the last knot, alright? It’s crazy how hard your back was the moment I started massaging. It’s getting better know, how do you feel?”
“Much better and I can feel the lotion heating. It’s soothing.”, you murmured and sighed, feeling the white dog nuzzling your hand with its snout.
“Good, it’s working then.”
“Woah, it’s tingling.”, the laugh coming from you made his heart ache and he cleared his throat to keep his composure. “Ah, it’s sooo warm all of a sudden. My back is feeling good.”
“I’m glad, I could help you with that.”
“Really?”
He looked at you, puzzled. “Of course, you idiot! Why wouldn’t I be?
“You just never seemed to care…”, you admitted and sighed, turning your head to him. “I think it’s fine now. I can still feel some little pressure but that’s all, it really helped me.”
Before he could say something, he immediately took his hands off your back, already missing the feeling of your skin, and turned around as you sat up to get your black shirt back on. You sighed, satisfied as you noticed, that your back wasn’t almost killing you as it did the moment you started the day and you looked at him, watching him getting up and putting the bottle back on the shelf. He was quiet and didn’t say anything. The divine dogs got up with you and never left your side as you made your way to the dark-haired boy who was hiding his face inside his collar.
“Megumi?”
“Y-yes?”, it was unusual seeing him so shy and it surprised you, honestly.
“Thank you. It really helped me a lot.”
“Yeah… you just make sure to have Shoko looking at the bruises. They were pretty big.”
You nodded and pet both dogs, which were raising their heads to give you better access to their necks. “So…”, you started. “You wanna come play outside?”
“Don’t talk to me as if I was a dog.”, he said and shook his head, passing you and making his way to the door. As he noticed that neither you nor his shikigami were following him, he halted and looked back to you. “What now? Come on.”
“Aiii, alright, come one babies!”, his divine dogs’ eyes were lighting up and jumping excitedly around you and Megumi felt his heart ache again as he looked at your happy face that was marked with tiredness and pain when he met you today. He didn’t want to interpret too much in it but the thought that he made you that happy or that he helped you so much that you could jump and laugh around like that, made him feel something which he really wanted to avoid. No, he shouldn’t. he shouldn’t feel this way about you. As he was about to say that he changed his mind and didn’t want to come out, he was interrupted by you taking his hand and pulling him with you outside of the room with his divine dogs following you enthusiastically.
“Woah, I can run again without feeling my back might just crack.”, you laughed loudly running away from the white dog that was following you barking and wagging its tail. “Megumi! Come on! Run!”
“I refuse.”, he said. He was sitting on the stone-stair, right outside the building you two were just coming from with the black dog sitting beside him, looking at him with a tilted head as if it was pleading him to come play.
Your laugh reached his ears and also his heart as it again began to beat faster and he gritted his teeth, shaking his head to distract himself while his black shikigami now laid its head on his thigh, whining. “No, don’t you start with this nonsense. I had lots of hopes that you wouldn’t turn into a child, as well.”
“Megumi!”
“What is it, Y/N?”, the annoyance disappeared the moment you were suddenly standing in front of him, panting from the running and his white dog practically glued to you right leg with a big stick in its mouth. “I think you shouldn’t overdo it.”
“Ah, I have someone who can take care of my back. Come on, now! Let’s find a stick for Brutus here.”
“Did you just give him a name?”
“Well, actually.”, you played with you thumbs. “I have given them names the first times I saw them.”
He looked at you with a puzzled expression. “And you named him Brutus? How original…”
“Hey, I like that name.
“So, how did you name the white one?”
“Lucifer.”
“What?”
“I’m joking.”, you chuckled. “Don’t be mad at me though, I named him Teddy.”
Now the boy had a blank expression on his face and he looked at his white divine dog as it was wagging its tail happily, with the big stick between its teeth. “I mean.”, you continued, “Look at him being all cuddly and fluffy and precious.”
He sighed deeply and got up, stretching his arms. “I can’t believe they just accepted it.”
“They love me.”
“No, they just feel sorry for you because you are so annoying.”
“That’s mean, Megumi.”, you gasped exaggerated. “Anyways, come one.”
“I’m not looking for a big stick with you.”
“Why not?”
“It’s ridiculous.”
A pout formed on your lips and you looked at him with puppy-eyes. “Pretty please?”
“It doesn’t matter how pretty that please might be. Be lucky I let you play with my shikigami.”
“Oh?”, you made and looked behind him. “What’s that?”
“What?”, he asked and turned his head in the direction you were looking. You used this initiative and hugged him tightly, his body freezing instantly, his breath hitching. But then he felt your hand in his pocket and how some weight was lifted and as fast as you hugged him as fast you were gone, running away from him, with Teddy right beside you. His hand dove into his pocket right away only to find his phone gone. Looking at you he saw it in your hands. “Y/N…”
“Alright, if you don’t wanna find a stick for Brutus, you are not allowed to entertain yourself then as long as we’re looking.”, you stuck your tongue out at him and waved at the black dog. “Come here, Brutus, let’s get you a nice big stick!”, the dog barked and got up, before Megumi could tell him to stay, it was already by your left side, looking up to you and humming in satisfaction as you quickly scratched behind its ears.
“Y/N, give me back my phone!”, Megumi said and walked towards you. “Now!”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”, you whistled innocently and took some steps away from him, looking on the floor to search for another stick. “Huh?”, you gasped as you heard fast steps coming your way and you turned around only to almost receive a heart attack, as you saw him running towards you. “Oh, oh…”
Before he could get ahold of you, you managed to dodge under his hand and jumped to the side, the divine dogs following you as you started to run through the little garden. As you noticed that he was getting closer to you, you took the stick out of Teddy’s mouth and threw it in Megumi’s direction. “Fetch, Teddy! Get it back!”, the dog instantly turned around and ran up to his master, who got hit by the stick on his head, jumping up and almost tackling him on the ground if Megumi didn’t throw the stick back to you. Teddy again changed the direction and ran up to you, because of your running and panting you didn’t notice how the stick got entangled in the back of you collar.
Megumi found on the run to you another big stick lying on the grass and grabbed it, also throwing it to you and it got caught in your collar, as well.
“Get it!”, he shouted to the black dog, that was looking up to you and immediately jumped on your side, trying to get the stick between its teeth.
“Ah! Brutus! Noooo!”, you screamed dramatically and fell on the soft grass with now the two dogs trying to get their sticks off your collar. “Teddy!”
“Good, you two, keep her down.”, you heard the boy say and suddenly you felt two heavy weights sitting on your back, which felt a little uncomfortable, but it was alright.
“I’m dying…”, you sighed and tried to get up but the two divine dogs didn’t move an inch off you.
Megumi kneeled in front of you and held his and out. “My phone.”
“I don’t have it.”
Teddy nuzzled its face in the pocket of your black shirt and you felt it biting in it. As its snout left the pocket it held Megumi’s phone carefully between its teeth, reached out to its master so that he could take it. He snapped his fingers and the two dogs instantly got off of you.
“That was mean.”
“Why? I did what you asked for and got a stick for Brutus.”, he said and held out his hand for you.
Sighing, you took it but didn’t let him pull you up, oh, no, no. You wrapped you second hand about his wrist and with all your strength, pulled him down to you. He gasped as he fell right on top of you but managed to push himself up with his hands on the grass on either side of you head.
“Well, that didn’t go as planned.”, you laughed sheepishly. His divine dogs barked and ran around you with their sticks in their mouth, completely happy about their little toys.
Against your expectations of him getting up and maybe be angry at you, he was staying still, looking at you with an unclear expression on his face. You felt the blood rushing through your cheeks and you looked away from him. Too embarrassed to look at him in this situation.
“I do care, you know?”
“Huh?”, your eyes went back to him. “What?”
He breathed in. “Earlier, you said I never seemed to care about you. That’s not true. I actually care a lot about you.”, you gulped and stared at him with white eyes.
“Really? I mean… it’s… relieving to hear that you actually like me a little bit.”
“It’s not just a little bit.”, your poor heart was about to explode. “I don’t want it but…”, he sighed. “You… I think about you… quiet a lot, actually. But…”
“But what?”
“I can’t just request you to spend more time with me just because my heart can’t stop calling out for you.”, the pressure on your nose returned and you watched his eyes widened. “Are you okay, Y/N?”
You touched your nose and looked at your bloody fingers. “Oh my god! I’m so sorry!”, you screamed and tried to stand up way too fast, causing you to bump your forehead directly into Megumi’s. The both of you groaned in pain and rubbed the aching spot, his shikigamis immediately dropping their sticks to examine the two of you, whining while doing so.
While you were still rubbing your forehead and holding your free hand onto your nose, Megumi searched for a tissue in one of his pockets and was lucky. “Hey.”, was all he said and he took your wrist to pull your hand it away from your face and a second later he was pressing the tissue on your bleeding nose. “Are you okay?”
“S-Sure…”, you stammered with white-hot cheeks. “Thanks… and sorry.”
“Don’t be. It’s alright.”, the way he patted your nose so softly had you almost melting.
Brutus licked your face and nuzzled its snot against your neck after, you rubbed his fluffy neck. “Well… that’s a very embarrassing way to expose my feelings.”, you laughed nervously and avoided his gaze.
As the bleeding stopped, he cleaned your nose properly and threw the tissue in a bin nearby, took ahold of your hand and got up with you. “So… you really do like me back that way?”
“As if it hasn’t been obvious the past few weeks.”, you said and scratched the back of your head in embarrassment. Looking at you, he just tilted his head. “Wait… was it not obvious?”
“I just thought, you were being nice to me…”, he admitted shyly and sighed. “That’s why I hate strong feelings.”
“But you don’t hate me, right?”
“What did I just tell you about my heart calling you?”
“I like you a lot, too.”, you finally admitted directly and took a step closer to him, the divine dogs being at your sides again and following you.
“I’m glad to hear that.”, his eyes were focused on you and he also took a step towards you. Your chests were almost touching, and you could feel his warm breath on your cheeks. “I really am.”
“Me too.”, your voice was a mere whisper and you looked up to him and your face was getting closer to his. Feeling brave, you pouted you lips and your heart almost jumped out of your chest when he did the same. This moment here was the one you have been dreaming about for a great amount of time and now you finally would get to live it. You felt you happy, you felt so…
“Ow!”, the both of you hissed, as the divine dogs jumped the both of you with their sticks between their teeth, probably expecting you to play with them again. They almost made you fall back on the ground but luckily you kept you balance.
“Alright, alright.”, you gave in and took Teddy’s stick, the dog barked happily and got in the position to fetch the stick once you threw it. Megumi did the same with Brutus and threw the stick with you at the same time. You watched the dogs running in ungodly speed fetching their wooden prey midair. A gasp escaped your lips, as Megumi wrapped his hand around yours and swirled you against his chest. adrenalin rushing through your veins as you felt soft lips on your own.
“Let’s get the sticks back before they eat them. And then we are going to eat something.”, Megumi whispered, pecked your lips again and pulled you with him, running after his shikigamis.
