Death is Immortal, but so am I

Summary:

Izuku trains his newly-found healing quirk... but it might not be in the best way.

Work Text:

It had been just under a year since Izuku had discovered his quirk. No one knew that he had this quirk, only that he had one for all. And if he could, he'd be keeping it that way.

In the past year he had been learning more and more about his quirk. Specifically, the draw backs. One major drawback was the recovery time from his deaths. But, he'd been working on that.

Anytime that Deku wasn't training One for All,  in a class, trying to do homework, or attempting to hang out with his friends he'd be training his second quirk. Though, some people might not call it training….

It was more of rapidly killing himself and timing how long he'd been dead for. He'd been able to get most types of deaths down to under eight minutes. Which was a drastic difference compared to the many hours he'd been dead all those months ago.

Another thing he had learned about his quirk was that it did work when an outside source was the one with murderous intent.

Midoriya had learned this when he had been walking home from a training session with All might. It had been a long day at the beach, and the boy was ready to pass out. But, before he could even get home, there was a mugger on him.

The man had asked for his wallet and phone, but Midoriya refused. So instead, the man shot off a warning shot next to him. The boy had flinched at the noise, but made no movement for his wallet or phone. Funnily enough though, he didn't have either on him.

So, when the mugger did shoot him, he got nothing off the boy. And twenty four minutes later Izuku was back up off the ground and walking home.

Now, after his many experimentations, Deku didn't feel much pain. He had been through everything from burning alive, to drowning himself, to hanging himself from a tree.

That's why, when he did make it into the hero course and started breaking his bones, he barely even acknowledged the pain. It did surprise his peers though.

Most of his classmates had picked up on how quickly Midoriya healed. They just pinned the cause on recovery girl, but if they'd looked further into it, they'd find that Izuku barely ever went to the woman to be healed.

Instead, he would migrate into his room and slice open his wrists. Blood loss seemed to take the longest to recover from, so he needed to practice that method of death now.

So, as Izuku sat there with a razor pressed into his left wrist, he barely regretted what he was about to do. He would be brought back to life with his amazing quirk better and stronger! So what if he was only fifteen and had died more times that he was able to count from two hundred and forty six different methods? He was going to be a wonderful hero!

He dug the blade further into his skin and watched the red liquid pour out. He repeated the action on the other arm and waited for the release he felt everytime he died.

He was once again killing himself for a broken leg. He had gone too far earlier that day and broken multiple bones in his upper right leg. It hadn't been hard for him to walk off the pain, but in the end it would cause him to be a liability to the class.

About twelve minutes later Izuku sat back up from the position he lay on the ground and wiped the blood from his left cheek.

That was something he had also found out about his quirk. It never left behind a singular speck of blood or skin or DNA of any sorts. The only physical sign that Izuku had died was the streak of crimson liquid that was always on his left cheek.

Standing up, the boy got back to his studies. He had to at least attempt to be top of his class, not that he would get there or that he deserved to be there. But you can't kill him for trying. Well, you can't really kill him in general, but that's besides the point.
