Surely  not. Surely not. Surely  not. Surely not. Surely  not. Surely Tommy didn’t die.

Surely he didn’t lose his best friend.

Surely he didn’t actually lose him. He did not lose his Tommy , right?

Tubbo reached to his chest in an attempt to grab the compass that used to be tied around his neck.

He broke down as he realized that thing blew up a long time ago.  Turns out that little compass wasn’t his final loss. The world was spinning, and he wanted to vomit. His head pounded, sharp and heavy.

He couldn’t be gone already. There was no way. Was he actually gone? He was gone, wasn’t he?

Tubbo couldn't wrap his head around the thought that he was never going to be bullied by Tommy ever again. No, this could not be the end. This was not how their friendship was going to end.

It could not end this way.

Suddenly, rage pulsed through his veins. How could he let it happen? How could they all let it happen? He was in exile for so long and no one even attempted to help him out. No one cared about Tommy. Did he care enough? Tubbo himself didn’t try to help Tommy out either.

Was it his fault? It was his fault. He exiled his best friend.

Would Tommy still be alive if he had prioritized his best friend over his country?

No, exiling him was the right thing, he had talked about it with Ghostbur when he gave him the compass. Things don’t have to feel good in order to be right, sometimes the best option you have is not even a good option at all. But that didn’t mean Tubbo wished that things wouldn’t have turned out differently. He was well aware of this, but he still blamed himself.

What if he had visited him more often? Could it have potentially saved Tommy?

The next couple of days, Tubbo rarely left his house. There were countless nights where he would fail to fall asleep, there were days when he wouldn’t even bother to wake up. His physical and mental health was rapidly getting worse to a point where other people started to notice.

It was a quiet Wednesday morning when he put his president suit on again. As he left his house towards the heart of L’Manburg, citizens would silently turn their heads in his direction.

While he was trying to find a way to announce the following, sadness crept into his voice.

“We need to have a funeral.”

When he first woke up, he did not expect the day to go like this. Tommy had died a couple of weeks ago and Tubbo was finally getting better. He even wore his Christmas hat when going out! He had some stuff planned for the day but that abruptly got shoved aside once he got Ranboo’s text.

‘Meet me at the beehive. We’ve got company.’

Not thinking too much of it, he headed to said place.

How? How was he there? How was he alive?

His confused gaze was fixed on his once so-called best friend. Why, out of all people, was he there with Technoblade, the person that had quite literally executed Tubbo? Were he and Tommy friends now? How was Tommy even there?

Techno was clearly talking to him, but Tubbo did not bat an eye.

“I’m so confused, you’re alive?”

Ignoring his question, Tommy greeted him. Despite the immense confusion, Tubbo was extremely happy to hear his voice and could barely believe that he was, in fact, standing in front of him. “What’s going on here” he looked up at his best friend, who then stood behind the Blade. “We have taken a hostage and… You still have my discs man.” Was he the villain now? Did he see Tubbo as an actual villain? Tommy brought up exile and the fact that he didn’t visit him. He brought up the party Tubbo never got invited to. He attempted to clear his name, but Tommy even trusted Dream more than the person he grew up with.

“Didn’t you try to execute him?” Tommy asked nonchalantly while looking Tubbo deep in the eyes. His stare slid to the execution stand right behind him. “What the fuck! I’ve never seen this- I’ve never seen this in my life, holy shit! You monster , what the hell is wrong with you?” A glance of absolute disgust, “that is fucked up.”

Technoblade changed the subject by bringing up the hostage situation they were in, the reason all of them were there. Tubbo, whose eyes were locked onto Tommy, and Ranboo handed them the stuff they asked. Techno let Connor, the guy who was taken hostage, go and asked Tommy if he was ready to head back. He looked over at Tubbo for one final time, and he told the Blade he was.

The duo that once called themselves inseparable, split ways.
