Against his dad's wishes, Fundy leaves the pod's home reef to explore the ocean with Niki. Far above them, a crew of pirates steer their ship through the waves.

It seemed this time they had picked up more than they had intended.
Sitting crouched behind a large piece of some kind of machinery was the mysterious teleporter.
They felt the ship speed up as it left the hangar, and the relief on the stranger’s face was obvious. Tubbo had never seen anyone look that happy about getting off a planet.

It was supposed to be just a brief pitstop on a remote planet. Tommy and Tubbo did not expect to find a member of an unknown species hiding with their cargo.

“I’m never fucking listening to Tubbo again,” Tommy muttered.
“Don’t move, I’m trying to adjust this.” Tubbo held a rope with one pair of arms and a wooden lever with another. Ranboo was holding back the bucket of the catapult to stop it from launching the payload - in this case, Tommy - into the air before the right time. “I’ve never launched anything bigger than a coconut from this thing. I gotta make sure it’s up to speed for something your size.”
Tommy blew out all the air from his lungs in a dramatic huff. “Great. Just great!”
Ranboo rolled their eyes. “Oh, come on. At least you have your wings. Imagine what it’s like to be dropped from the sky when you can’t fly.”

Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo all have one thing in common: Anytime they die, they come back healthy and unharmed. But when you're as careless as they are, things are bound to go wrong eventually.

In the middle of the destruction stands a man with pitch black wings big enough to stretch all the way across the wide hallway. And he’s looking straight at Tommy.
Tommy’s breath hitches in his throat and his knees almost buckle under the weight of his terror. He takes a shaky step backwards, suddenly hoping that Punz would still be after him, but he’s managed to lose the man in the maze of hallways, and now the hybrid looks at him and says something but Tommy can’t hear him over these goddamn sirens and oh god, he just wanted to find Dream–
Or: Tommy, an avian, doesn't know of life outside the laboratory. It's the only home he's ever had. So when Phil breaks in and takes four abused hybrid kids to a safehouse, he's surprised to see that one of them isn't at all happy to be saved.
(Or: lab-themed sbi hurt/comfort. I'm a sucker for angst with a happy ending.)

Summary
A year after the Winter Soldier failed his mission in DC, Bucky Barnes is doing his best to stay under the radar from both Hydra and Steve Rogers. His hope for a peaceful day-to-day life in limbo goes awry, however, when he meets Queens’ newest hero; a pure-hearted kid with a death wish and a ridiculous pair of red and blue pajamas.
The last thing Steve expects when he finally tracks Bucky down is that, not only has the man been living in Queens all this time, right under his nose, but also that, in the two years since they last saw each other, Bucky somehow acquired a kid.
Alternatively: How Peter Parker effectively fucks over Bucky Barnes, and also totally saves him.
