It all still felt a little surreal. After everything since the accident, if you could even call it that, from prison to the Suicide Squad, Caitlin would’ve never thought she’d actually get an invitation to join the real Justice League of America. The JLA was one of the biggest and best superhero teams of all time so when Batman asked her to join it, there was no doubt anywhere in Snow’s mind. She had to join and there was nothing that was going to stop her, not even Waller. Leaving her friends in the Squad, like Harley or June, was hard but she was going to try to get them a spot on the team too. For now, she was just glad she could come outside without police trying to arrest her or Waller screaming at her because something in the mission they were sent on didn’t go completely according to plan. With Batman’s help, she had even created a bracelet she could wear that’d spread heat across her body so she didn’t need to steal it from any other people. It worked on solar energy but they had put some batteries in it in case of long missions at night or in dark areas.
There wasn’t a lot to do at parties of the League. If he was honest, Cisco was kind of bored. After the press conference where he and the other new Justice League members had been introduced to the world, they all went inside the Hall to take a trip into space. Of course, there wasn’t a mission they had to go on immediately, unless you could call a trip to the Watchtower a mission. When he arrived in the floating headquarters of the superhero team he joined, he was in awe. It looked better than it had done in his dreams and it was much bigger than he had imagined. But now, after a speech like only Batman could give on, everyone dispersed and started talking to each other. He, however, was still in his original spot, all alone. It wasn’t that he was shy, he just didn’t know what to talk about or who to talk to. Superman and Batman had left the room to go talk about what the latest attack had brought to them. Obviously they were going to talk tech so Cyborg left the room as well. When he kept looking around to see if anyone had a spot open in their circle, he saw one person standing all alone. Caitlin Snow, who was formerly known as Killer Frost but now went through her hero life as Frost. He hadn’t been able to get a good look at most of the new people when they were all in line outside but now he did and she was gorgeous. Vibe had no idea why that was the first thought that came into his mind while he walked over. “Hi. I’m Cisco Ramon. Vibe.”
When Caitlin heard a man talking behind her and what seemed to be an introduction, she turned around. Being around all of these heroes, having fought most of them somewhere in the past was a little awkward. Her right hand was resting on her left elbow but when she turned around, she took it off to appear confident. “Hi. I’m Caitlin Snow, Frost. Nice to meet you.” She almost forgot to hold her hand out after months, years even of not being able to shake someone’s hand without killing them. The new superhero looked around the room. “This is...crowded. You don’t happen to know if it’s always this busy, do you?”
Vibe looked around. There were quite a lot of people in the room but he had no idea if all of the parties hosted in the Watchtower had this many guests. When he looked back to the woman in front of him, Cisco looked into her piercing blue eyes. While all the other heroes kept their masks on, or off in some cases, Ramon decided to take his glasses off. They helped him focus on his powers when he needed them but he could still use them when he didn’t have them on. Right now, around Caitin, he felt he just had to be Cisco Ramon, not Vibe.
Caitlin saw Cisco’s real face and smiled. His eyes had nothing but good in them, like they had never seen anything wrong before. She didn’t say anything for a couple of seconds until she realised she was staring into his eyes, though he was staring back. “I’m not used to being in a room this big with this many superheroes who aren’t trying to arrest me. Come to think of it, I’ve never been in a room with this many superheroes before.” She let a soft laugh out. “The Squad members, that’s the Suicide Squad I was kind of forced into by Waller, weren’t exactly good people. Most of them were even bad people. But some of them, like my friends Harley and June, they really were just misunderstood or unlucky.” The woman shrugged before she thought about the possibility that maybe Vibe didn’t know who she was talking about. “Harley is Harley Quinn and June is the host for Enchantress.” This all sounded so strange yet so real and familiar. If anyone had told her before the accident that it’d be normal for her to stand in a room filled with superheroes while talking to one of them and being a part of that team after being imprisoned and used by the prison guard to clean the world of villains, she would’ve definitely laughed because the Caitlin Snow of the past wasn’t the same as the one who now stood in the Watchtower.
He liked hearing Caitlin talk, especially about her life before joining the League. It was interesting while the others all had main points in common. Lost an entire planet and left to be a hero on Earth, lost an entire family in a war of races and left to Earth to be a hero, became a speedster in a lab accident. And then there was Caitlin Snow, who had probably been through more than anyone in the entire room, definitely more than him. He hadn’t even had his powers for too long while she had been transformed into Frost months ago. Cisco knew about the Suicide Squad, a lot of people did for it being a secret group. He also knew Waller forced criminals to follow her orders to get their sentences reduced and if they didn’t do that, they were killed by little bombs in their neck. He felt bad she went through all of that but he was glad she was out of it now. But Ramon knew there was more to her story. “This might be a little forward but would you like to get some dinner sometime? I think you’re really interesting and, not to call Batman a beginner, but I’m pretty good with tech. Maybe I can help you downsize on that bracelet a little, make it a little less visible?”
It didn’t take long for Caitlin to widen her eyes after Cisco basically asked her out. Did he? Was he just being nice? She didn’t know but dinner sounded nice, whether it was a date or just as friends. In fact, she wouldn’t mind a date with the man. He had been nicer than the rest of the team, who probably all still felt a little weird with a former villain in the team. “That actually...sounds really nice. How does Wednesday evening sound to you?” She got an agreement and a time. “Sounds like a date.” Suddenly, when they were about to start talking again, the Watchtower’s alarm sounded and everyone’s comms said the same thing in Batman’s voice. There was a spaceship on its way to Earth and it didn’t seem to be friendly. This made everything official. Caitlin Snow, Frost, was now a real member of the Justice League.
